The petite girl puffed off some hair that fell on her face. She narrowed her eyes, measured the distance, tightening her grip and struck the small ball with all she might. She nodded approvingly for her performance. It was getting better and better. Now she had never got professional help since Golf was only her escape. She didn’t wish to be a real player. She just watched some video on Youtube and sport channels, bought the golf club and played by herself at her family’s private golf course.
Her biceps had become toner since she did this sport. That was the good part, the bad part was the muscle ache. It bothered her sometimes but she was having too much fun to stop now.
“Tae!”
Taeyeon turned around to find the voice source. She held her hand above her head, blocking the sunlight. A smile started to form as she watched the familiar figure came closer.
“How did you get in here?” Taeyeon shouted.
“I have my ways!”
Taeyeon shook her head in amusement. She put the Drivers back into the bag and removed the gloves. She tilted her head as she stood on that spot, waiting for the other girl to catch her breath.
“Isn’t that Seohyun?” She squinted at the tall figure who was standing near a white car.
“Yeah.” Tiffany nodded. She turned around and waved at the younger girl.
“Take your time, unnie!”
“Thanks!” Tiffany shouted back. “I owe her a nice whole plate of sushi after this.” She muttered loud enough for Taeyeon to hear.
The vice president chuckled. Oh yes, Seohyun did love her sushi. She couldn’t forget her private secretary’s face when she bought her all variants of sushi for her birthday last year.
“So…” Tiffany hugged her own body closely. It was kind of uncharacteristic of her to feel nervous around Taeyeon. She supposed seven months of no contact would do that to her. For that reason, she’d cut herself some slack. “Golf, huh? Never know you’d be into this.”
“Yeah.” Taeyeon smiled brightly. “I have more than enough free time to spend by my own now. Golf is pretty interesting you know. Do you want to give it a try?”
Tiffany shook her head. “Nah. I just went to the gym. No more workout for me.” The taller girl observed her surrounding. “Seohyun said you come here often. I thought you didn’t like it here.”
“I didn’t like it because it…” Taeyeon puffed a breath. “This place is too big for a small person like me. I was just a kid. I wanted friends. You know, like normal kids. The older I got, the more I realize that this is my habitat. This,” she mentioned the green ground, “is home. Recently, I feel more connected with this place more than ever. Come. I’ll take you to look around.”
Taeyeon gestured Tiffany to follow her towards the golf cart.
“You drive this by yourself?” She made herself comfortable. The close proximity with Taeyeon somehow made her heart flutter a bit.
“Yes. Don’t worry. At this point I can drive anything. You name it, car, motorcycle, golf cart, truck, jet, next week I’m going to try to be a co-train driver. I’ve contacted Seoul Metro bosses. They said sure, why not?”
“Jet, huh?” Tiffany folded her arms on top of her chest. “Show off.” She scoffed, shoving Taeyeon’s shoulder jokingly.
“Like I said, I have too much free time.” Taeyeon chuckled lightly. Carefully, she drove the cart towards the artificial lake. “So, what have you been up to?”
“Well, aside from being an executive producer, I am now, in fact, trying to write some scripts. It’s nothing big since I’m still learning but we probably will adapt it into a web series soon. Now I don’t know how soon it may be but it’s something exciting.”
Unexpectedly, Taeyeon squeezed Tiffany’s knee softly. A small smile was on her face. The twilight sunlight danced all over her face, mak
