The young woman didn’t look up from the phone when she heard the shuffling steps. There were only two persons who knew the password of her new place. One person was at the side of the world and the other one had been coming back anytime she felt like it. Taeyeon didn’t mind though. Sunny usually just bummed around or played games with her. It killed the loneliness somehow.

“You’re still wearing the same pajamas from last time?”

“It’s cold. I haven’t showered yet.” She replied nonchalantly. “There is ice cream cake in the fridge if you want.”

“Taeyeon, it’s 9 a.m. No one eat ice cream cake in 9a.m.”

“I ate it just now.”

“It’s because you’re not like normal people.” Sunny slumped beside her best friend and leaned on her shoulder. “Have you heard anything from her?”

“Who?”

“Tiffany.”

Taeyeon shook her head. “I’m the last person you should come for that question.”

“You’re stupid. You know that?”

“You and the rest have been saying the same thing and it’s starting to get annoying.” Taeyeon mumbled, eyes never left the screen.

“She’s gone only temporarily, Taeng. She’s going to come back here. It’s not fair to break it off like that.”

“Break what off?”

“Your relationship with her, you dumb.”

“…”

“You’re hurting her.”

“Like she’s not.” Taeyeon sighed. “We had lived together for years, Sunny. All of sudden she wanted to go on without me. She left me behind but why is everybody blaming me?”

“We all know her career in South Korea is practically over, Taeyeon. You’re not being fair. You’re under the shining spotlight right now. Everybody loves you. Her? One appearance to the public and those people are hunting her down. One can only endure such great hate for short period of time. She needs something new.”

“Something new that doesn’t include me in it.” Taeyeon stood up from the couch. She had had enough lectures for a day.
