“Princess Diana. Princess Diana. Princess Diana.” Tiffany whispered her mantra over and over again since Taeyeon informed her that they were getting nearer.

Taeyeon understood that Tiffany was nervous so she let her girlfriend be. It was not the first time Tiffany met Taeyeon’s parents. She had met them a couple of times before but only for two minutes – two minutes of awkwardness and silence. So maybe it shouldn’t be counted.

As Taeyeon’s car stopped in front of the massive gate, Tiffany said her mantra faster and louder. Taeyeon patiently waited as an invisible machine scanning her car body. It was not a big deal, just a standard security protocol. Thankfully she drove her Bentley instead of Mercedes because that car had never come to this house and the protocol for the new car to get in was so much more complicated.

Tiffany didn’t seem to be aware of the situation. She closed her eyes while repeating the mantra.

The small screen in her car had showed APPROVED but the gate was still closed.

“Please scan the retina of your passenger, Ms. Kim.” She heard someone said.

Taeyeon rolled her eyes but chose not to comment on it. Instead, she poked Tiffany’s arm. The latter turned to look at her expectantly.

“Just look at that scanner over there.” Taeyeon pointed the machine behind Tiffany.

“What’s this for?” She asked as she did what she told.

“My parents are a little bit paranoid. Heck all these unnecessary procedures.”

When the scanning was done, the gate opened slowly. At the other side, dozens of guards were standing straightly to welcome her. Taeyeon was so close to pull her hair at the sight. She had talked to the head of guards to never ever give her this treatment. He probably thought that bowing ninety degree was too much, but stood straight was okay.

As her car moved ahead, Taeyeon pulled her window down. “How many times do I have to tell you? Act nothing when I come. Don’t you guys have something to do?”

“We have, Ms. Kim.”

“Then go. Do it.”

“We’re doing it right now.” He said unflatteringly.     

Taeyeon groaned loudly. No one in this house seemed to be listening to her wish. She said don’t follow me anywhere so they dressed subtly as another college student, stop opening the car door for me so they only stood by it with an annoying straight face, let me take my own food, I have two hands, Taeyeon had never seen the servants’ face so terrified so she gave up and let them did their job.
