Jet Plane
NeffyShortiesIn another jet, another seat, served by another flight attendants, miles away above the sea, on different region each seconds, yet her thought was still on the same person. She tugged the blanket to her chest, resting her head on the fluffy pillow provided by the airplane.
A small peach notebook on her side had been accompanying her through out the journey. It had been a while, she smiled at the memory. She had seen places all over the world. Each had its own unique story, one simply couldn’t be compared to another. She’d done it since forever - constantly moving from one place to the other, living her dream and made money while she at it. She couldn’t ask for more, except for the fact that her heart was still on the same spot, far under the clouds, inside the familiar apartment in Seoul.
She checked her watch, smiling contently. “You must be asleep by now.”
Eight hours to go.
Eight hours to bear this torture of missing a person she was madly in love with. Eight hours before she could feel that soft, warm, welcoming lips. Eight hours to be home again.
She had thought to quit a lot. It was tempting, every cell in her body actively agreeing to the idea.
“Don’t ever give up on your dream.” For this one sentence and a pair of gentle eyes, she kept going on.
She had asked her partner to go with her, so they’d be able to explore the world together - so she didn’t have to feel so lonely all the time. Instead of getting her wish, her lover said, “I will be waiting every time you come home.”
She was okay at the beginning of their relationship. Especially when they hadn’t moved in together. Saying goodbye wasn’t that hard. A hug was enough to ease the temporary yearn, video call did them just fine, she was still able to sleep well at night. Then their relationship progressed.
