#4. Old Man
NeffyShorties“Hello, yes, this is Kim Taeyeon.”
“…”
“Yes. Um, I was wondering about my application.”
“…”
“Okay, sure.”
Taeyeon waited. She was anxious. She had applied to a few companies and she had highest expectation for this one. She felt good about her interview. She was positive they’d hire her.
“Yes, hello?”
“We called you two days ago, miss, and we have not heard anything from you till now.”
“Wait, what?! I didn’t get any call!”
“Your spot have been filled by someone else, I’m afraid.”
“What are you saying?!”
“I’m saying you don’t get the job,” the man replied shortly. “I’m sorry. Good luck and good day.”
The line went dead.
Taeyeon stared at the device widely. What the heck just happened? Did she just – did she just lose a chance to her dream job?

Taeyeon punched the call button as the same bored voice greeted her.
“Hello?”
“Hey, it’s me Kim Taeyeon again. Wait, please hear me out. I was wond – look, who took the call? I am one hundred percent sure I didn’t take it.”
A pause. “Hwang Jiseok. Him.”
What?!
“Is that all? I need to make another call.”
“Y – yes. Thank you.”
Taeyeon fell on the bed, sitting there with her soul out from her body. She couldn’t believe it. How could Tiffany’s father do that to her?
Taeyeon inhaled a deep breath. She was so angry. So very angry. Tiffany’s father had a right to approve their relationship or not but he had no say about her life.
“I can’t do this.”
With fire burning inside her chest, Taeyeon began throwing her stuff to her suitcase at the same time calling for a cab. She didn’t care if her clothes crumpled. She needed to get out from this house fast. She couldn’t take this anymore. He had hurt her dignity.
Tiffany was out with her sister but Taeyeon couldn’t wait. She’d text Tiffany la
