“Again.”

I strummed the section that I just composed.

“It sounds weird.”

I sighed and looked up at her. “Look, this is the 5^th time I’m changing it. Why don’t you compose it then?”

“I’m doing the lyrics, remember?”

I put my guitar down and stood up. “I need to use the washroom.”

Jin Ah shrugged and turned back to the table. “Take your time.”

“What’s her freaking problem? I hate to say this but I think I prefer the nice Jin Ah. Aish!”

I splash water to the mirror and stare at my own reflection.

I saw a girl who just came out from a cubicle looking at me with fear.

“Sorry.” I mumbled and left.

Soon, it was Friday. Jin Ah was still treating me coldly and purposely bumping into me or stepping on my feet.

Man, she needs to grow up.

I open my locker and looked inside, sighing to myself.

“Why so sad?”

“Hmm…Well, I was hoping to see a gift in here but I gue-.”

Wait a second…

I turned around to find myself looking at Jin Young who was trying not to laugh.

“Yah!” I whacked him arms. He pretended to be hurt and sank onto the ground.

I rolled my eyes. “Please.” I said, taking my books.

“You’re so cute when you pout.”

“Shut up.”

He pushed himself up from the ground and wrap an arm around me waist.

“Wait for me at the fountain after school, let’s go for smoothie.”

“Don’t you have to meet your counselor?”

“Yup, but I have an hour to spare.”

I smiled and nodded. “Okay. Can we have waffles too?”

He chuckled. “Pig.” I frowned.

“Okay, I’ll buy you anything edible. Now seal this promise.”

I gave him a lazy look and held out my pinky. Instead of hooking his with mine, he held my hand and shook his head.

“That’s too old fashion.” He said.

Suddenly I felt something warm on my lips. I pushed him away before he could deepen the kiss.

“We’re in school.” I breathe.

He nodded to himself with a grin. “Promise is sealed. Don’t you dare break it.”

I stuck my tongue out at him.

“Yah, I’m being serious here. Break it and you’ll be punish!”

I pushed his forehead and waved at him. “Class.”

A girl who was standing few feet away witnessed everything.

“I’ll make sure you won’t make it.” she smirked.

“Turn to page 97.”

I almost poured everything out from my bag.

Damn, where is my textbook?

“Miss Choi, is there a problem?” my teacher asked.

“Er, I think I left my book in my locker.” I said.

He gave me a disapproving look. “It’s your responsible as a student to make sure you have your book before lesson starts. Go stand outside with your hands up.”

I apologized and went out.

“This is weird. I swear I took it out this morning.”

As I was about to squat down, I saw Jin Ah smiling at me inside the classroom.

What was that about?

I massage my arms as I stare at the clock.

4 more minutes. Finally!

The teacher closed her book and looked up. “I will stop here.”

The class started cheering silently.

“Those on duty today don’t forget to clean up the class before you go home.”

Suddenly Jin Ah raised her hand.

“Yes?”

“I’m supposed to be on duty but I have something urgent to attend.”

“Okay, swap your days with someone.”

She looked around and her eyes landed on me.

No freaking way…

“Mia! Can you do it for me today? I’ll do your slot next week.” She smiled.

“I..er…”

“Do you have anything on later Mi Yan shii?” my teacher asked.

I looked back at Jin Ah, she was still smiling.

Why does it look so evil?

“If it’s a date it can wait you know.” she said.

What the hell?

“Oooo Mi yan’s got a date?” a boy cooed.

“Damn, I thought I had a chance.” I heard another voice said.

“N-no. I’ll do it.”

The teacher nodded. “You’ll do her slot next week.”

Jin Ah clapped her hands “Thank you!”

It’s like on cue the bell rang.

One by one, people started leaving. I took my phone out and texted Jin Young I’ll be late.

“Mia.”

I groaned at that voice.

“I forgot to tell you, the other person on duty is Min Ho.”

“But his absent today.”

She smirked. “I know.”

Did she just smirk?

“You-.”

“Thank you! I’ll see you next week.” She flipped her hair and left.

What the hell? I have to clean the whole classroom all by myself? Is she’s doing this on purpose? Why do I find the room surprisingly big right now?

“Knock knock.”

I turned around to meet the owner of the voice.

“Oppa…” I whined.

He chuckled and walked inside. “Alone?”

“Yeah.” I said, pushing the table to the back of the classroom.

“I thought you did your duty on Tuesday?”

“Yup, filling in for someone.”

Jin Young groaned. “Who is that, let me punch him or her now.”

Oh, please do Jin Young.

“Someone.” I said, lifting a chair onto the table. “Ouch.”

“What’s wrong?”

“I think I pulled a muscle just now.” I lied. The truth is my hand still hurts for lifting it up for almost one whole period.

He lifted two at once and put it onto the nearest table.

“Where are the buckets?” he asked.

“There.”

He pulled up his sleeves and loosens his tie.

“Oh, are you-”

“No, I’m going to sit and watch while you clean.” He said.

I pouted. He flicked my forehead then.

“Of course I’m helping you. Aish, just start sweeping.”

I started laughing as he pointed at the broom before leaving.

It’s good to have a boyfriend after all. Not just any boyfriend, but Jin Young.

Jin Ah was once again spying on Mia and Jin Young.

“You make her clean the classroom?” Soo Yong asked.

“Yes!” Jin Ah hissed. “And the whole point was to drag her time so she can’t go out with Jin Young!”

“But he’s with her now.” Ji Yeon said, ended up getting hit my Jin Ah.

“Why didn’t I think about this? Of course he will come and find her!”

Jin Young was mopping the floor while Mia was sitting on a table swinging her legs.

“That looks fun.”

“Shut up Ji Yeon!”

Jin Ah looked back into the classroom and saw Jin Young joining Mia on the table, leaning on her shoulder. What she saw next made her so mad that she could break someone’s bone right now.

“Urgh, I can’t stand this anymore!” She said angrily. “Let’s go!”

“You know, this is quite fun.” I said. “It feels like we’re on a date.”

“That because you were sitting all the time.”

“Hey, I said I’ll do the windows but you refuse.”

He sat up and turned to me. “Anyways, remember what I said earlier?”

“What about it?”

“That you’ll be punished if you break our promise earlier.”

I thought about it. “Oh. Well this isn’t on purpose.”

He shook his head. “Punishment.”

I sighed. “Okay. Please don’t tell me I have to start washing your clothes or something.”

He laughed and hop off the table, still holding the mop in his hands. “Close your eyes.”

“Eh? Are you going to hit me with the mop?”

“Are you crazy? Why would I hit you?”

“P-punishment?”

He chuckled. “Just close it.”

I hesitated at first but close it.

“Erm, are you reaching for the broom instead?” I said, after shutting my eyes for a few seconds.

I flinched when I felt his arm around my waist while another at the back of my head.

Our lips met as I open my eyes.

He moved back and frowned. “Didn’t I say close your eyes?”

“W-what are you doing?”

He grinned and whispered into my ears. “Kiss me for one minute.”

I shoved him in the chest. “One minute? Are you crazy?”

“30 seconds then.”

“No you-”

I got cut off as he crashed his lips onto mine. After a few attempts of pushing him, I eventually gave in.

I felt Jin Young smiling as I wrap my hand around his nape.

Thank goodness I was sitting, or my legs would have already given up. The tingly feeling in my stomach made me dizzy and everything became blur.

I parted my mouth when he kissed me harder.

He pulled away and rested his forehead on mine, panting.

“Babo.” I said.

He smiled and kissed me again.

I don’t know how long the kiss lasted. Was it really one minute?

I hate myself for saying this, but I think I owe Jin Ah one for giving me her cleaning duties today, on purpose.
