False Appearances
Project ZeloFor the fifth night in a row, Yongguk performed a stakeout outside the terraced house. He hummed tunelessly as he leaned his head against the door frame, his visible breath dancing against the window before shedding it's final tear down the glass. The effort was once again fruitless seeing as once again, there was no activity from the neighbourhood. The abandoned handset on the passenger seat lit up, demanding that the message was read. I can't decide whether something interesting has happened. Yongguk sighed at Himchan's lack of elaboration and started the car.
Himchan greeted him at the entrance. "So, what's the problem Channie?" Himchan flinched as Yongguk only called him by a nickname when he wanted something or when he was pissed off. They walked in awkward silence until they were once again in the office. Yongguk heard a strange rhythmic knocking and raised a brow.
"He's been doing it all night, I don't quite understand." Yongguk looked over at their monitor. Zelo was carefully tapping his knuckles along the wall behind him.
"It's probably nothing, I'd be bored less too." Yongguk passed it off and took a cigarette from his pocket. He lit it slowly and took a deep draw with a satisfied sigh at the sudden hit.
"You know smoking lowers your count." Himchan stated then smiled at a private joke. "But we all know you have that problem." Yongguk did nothing but glare at him for what seemed like minutes, ash building up on the end of his cigarette.
After fifteen minutes of sorting out paperwork, Himchan took his leave, slowly followed by Yongguk himself. If Yongguk had anything to thank him for, it was the ability to forge personal documents, in this case Zelo's, so they were safe if someone was to come for an inspection.
Jieun's face lit up like a brand new Christmas bulb when she saw Yongguk walk through the door. She pounced on him like an excited kitten. She gasped as Yongguk started to kiss her roughly, but quickly responded as she brushed her leg in between his. Yongguk brushed his hands against the hem of her shirt but quickly stopped, eliciting an annoyed moan from his girlfriend.
"Sorry, Jieun-ah. We can't do this. It could hurt your..our baby." Yongguk felt alienated addressing the child. Jieun's eyes lit up at his implication.
"It won't, Gukkie. Our baby will be fine, it's not as selfish as to take things away from his or her's parents." Without further ado, she pulled Yongguk into the bedroom.
A few hours later, Jieun had fallen asleep. Yongguk reached to get his pants from the floor and just stared at the floor. He remembered that Zelo had chosen to sleep there as it was in his comfort range. He cocked his head but his brain was clouded, not making sense of it. He realised that he'd left his laptop it work and he needed it to do some work at home. Cursing, he threw on some clothes.
