Farewell
Project ZeloFor the rest of that day Jongup haunted Yongguk for the very reason that he would become obliged to take the dreaded pills he had given him. It had seemed that a lot of work had built up over the couple of nights Yongguk spent unconscious in the hospital. He tried very hard not to look at Jongup who was still carefully watching his every move though his dark cunning orbs could not be seen under the locks of white hair that covered it. The only sounds that could be heard were that of the keyboard tapping rhythmically to Himchan's fingertips as he continued to do his admin work.
Jongup still did not move. He watched every move without eliciting an ounce of concern from the concentrating Himchan. Jongup had transitioned from prey to predator in one quick swoop and his tactic was like treading on a fine tight rope. One slip up and it's game over.
Yongguk was so engrossed in filing that he didn't hear Youngjae walk into the room.
"I just got off the phone with the couple."
Himchan looked up, his expression confused.
"What couple?"
"The couple who were going to foster Junhong."
Yongguk's head snapped up. "Junhong is leaving? Calm down, Yongguk. He's a patient. They all leave, one way or another. Be professional. Professional."
Himchan's face was blank. Dumbfounded. Youngjae realised that Yongguk and Himchan were not aware of the new information.
Jongup smirked.
"It was Jongup's idea. He's able to communicate and can lead a somewhat normal life, even though he has split personality. There's no reason why he shouldn't be discharged."
Jongup cocked his head and looked on at Yongguk after Youngjae finished explaining. Unfortunately the man was poker faced, absentmindedly nodding along.
"What about his official documents?" Yongguk finally asked, clawing at any ideas to postpone the departure.
"When you were asleep in hospital, we contacted Daehyun. He brought over the papers from his mom's house." Jongup tried hard to keep his composure, but his voice remained taunting.
Yongguk gulped. "When is he leaving?"
"Today."
"You know that he only communicates with me? He only listens to me. Doing this will not help him at all."
"The couple are experienced with this, they've fostered recovering children before."
Yongguk mumbled. "I'll go let him know then." He was defeated. Surprisingly, he didn't seem to be worried about Zelo and how he would take the news. He was more concerned over the fact that he wasn't sure how he himself would cope. "Everything I've ever grown attached to eventually leaves. Either I'm cursed or I'm not meant to be around anyone else. Maybe I'm not meant to be here." Yongguk thought that he had said this in his head, but when his head rose, he saw two men looking at him. Youngjae looked astonished. Jongup looked amused.
