Going Crazy
Project Zelo"You alright?" Himchan motioned towards Yongguk's bandage on his left hand as he lit up a cigarette. He hummed in reply whilst taking a draw. "Did Jieun get hormonal?" Himchan continued to joke around."
"Broke up with her."
"You what? She's pregnant."
"She's not."
"Did she miscarry?"
"Whatever."
"Do you know where she is?"
"Don't know."
"She could be in trouble!"
"Don't care."
Himchan stared in disbelief. He knew his friend too well. He snatched the cigarette from Yongguk's mouth and then took a draw himself. "What did she do?"
Yongguk sighed. Sooner or later he'd have to find out. "She lied about being pregnant." Himchan just stared at his hyung. Nodding slowly, he knew Yongguk didn't want to talk about it. He changed the subject.
"So what do we do now about the kid?"
"What's on the board?" Himchan glanced at the board of mismatching scrawl the duo had produced during their investigation. He pointed towards one of the words.
"We never looked into his self harming but that would be a bit too much of a sensitive subject to look into, wouldn't it?"
Yongguk leaned back in his chair. "Give him a knife."
"Excuse me?"
"If he hurts himself. We know he resorted to harming himself."
"You want him to slit his ing wrists?" Himchan shouted. Yongguk flinched at the statement, but grinned.
"I'm always right."
"Bang Yong Guk. I will NOT let you do that to the kid. We've gone far too deep into this situation - into this boy's life - to let himself end it under your hands. I thought you were one to not mix personal affairs with business." Himchan was now shouting, but it all sounded like meaningless buzzing to Yongguk. He handed a piece of paper to his boss. "I got you the ing deed." The house was now in their hands. Yongguk stormed out.
Room 23 was silent again, though Zelo was still conscious. The doctor crept into the room and could feel Zelo's burning stare on the back of his head. Yongguk placed a tray of coloured pencils and colouring book on Zelo's table, scrutinising the boy before leaving. Himchan watched on the monitor. By the time Yongguk returned, Zelo had arranged them in rainbow order.
"Even self harmers don't cut with such tidy manners. I'm just checking to see if he has obsessive compulsive tendencies. If he does, it's likely he's harmed himself, judging by the order of the inflictions. If he leaves the colours, it's likely he's been assaulted."
"Well, he's already arranged them."
"You could've just let me use the knife, either way I was still right."
Himchan was getting really angry now. "I can't trust you Yongguk. I'm going to call your two friends from the British Association of Psychologists you made when you studied there."
Yongguk raised an eyebrow. "Call B.A.P, I don't care."
After minutes of negotiation, Himchan returned. "Youngjae and Jongup will be coming next week. You can't do this alone anymore, have you seen what it's done to you."
Yongguk shrugged, childishly refusing to talk to Himchan.
"Weren't you ill? you haven't taken those pills in a while."
"I stopped taking them."
"Why?"
"Because they stopped doing a ing thing."
