And now, I update. =]

I was able to finish everything on time. So, here we have it.

Comment replies shall arrive as private messages in your profiles very soon.

Please don't be impatient. =]

Since, people wanted to see the other members of SHINee, I made them appear in this chapter.

Well, not all of them though. x]

But still, I hope all of you would enjoy. <3

Oh yeah, before I forget.

The soundtrack for today is Katy Perry's "Peacock".

I don't know why I chose this, but it kinda exudes the boppy-busy feel. x]

Oh well, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OCsaAOgs8U

Dressing room

"Congratulations!"

The loud cheers of the people waiting for me inside the dressing room surprised me as I went inside. I had just finished my debut performance, and I was glad that it was successful. I wasn't just glad actually, I was ecstatic. I thought I already had the time of my life performing on the stage for the first time as an official SME and SE talent, but I was wrong.

There was still a lot more in store for me.

"You were absolutely wonderful on the stage earlier, child. I am very very proud of you." LeeMyeong Abeonim said as I rushed into his arms. He held me tightly for a few moments before releasing me. I saw in his eyes, when I dared to look, the pride and joy that a father would most probably have when they see their child finally achieveing something. I would never know, I guess. After all, I'm no father.

"Yah... My little sister is really talented. I bet not even YeSung Hyung would be able to do that performance you did." SiWon Sunbae said, wrapping an arm around my shoulder with a smile. I beamed at him for a moment before feeling my Sunbae withdraw from the intimate gesture.

Other artists were there as well, extending warm greetings and friendly "Congratulations". Everything was directed to me, and I could only smile at the rare chance I got to see these respected celebrities, much more being congratulated by them.

"Here's a bouquet for you." I heard KyuHyun Sunbae say as I found myself facing a bouquet with 10 different flowers. I looked at him in awe and he said that every flower present in the compilation were personally chose by the members. With a warm "thank you", I bowed to them. The ten members of Super Junior were few of the artists who came to say congratulations.

Two SHINee members weren't absent in this event as they too stood in front of me, giving me hugs and pats on the back. Each of the two, coincidentally held a blue rose, which they gave to me one by one, just like what happened last month. TaeMin-ah gave me his rose in EXACTLY the same way as he did last month, even the satement which said that I should be given more roses. When it was JongHyun Oppa's turn, he leaned close to my ear and whispered.

"I would've gotten you a bouquet like last month. But since I had to avoid suspicions, I decided to just settle with a rose."

I felt very happy with how much these Showbiz Sunbaes welcomed me to the industry with open arms. I owe them a lot because of this, which is why I just said my thanksgiving and I bowed 90 degrees before saying to them what was in my heart.

"Thank you very much for spending time to see me after my debut. Even glancing at you idols, I think it is already an honor. I should at least give you due respect for taking the time to tell me that I did well." I could only say as I bowed again to these artists that had taken time off their busy schedules to commend me for my debut.

Just then, a group of familiar males approached me. My eyes widened as they opened five very recognizeable CD cases in front of me. I couldn't help but gasp as the reality came hitting me full-on.

"These are copies of my mini-album..."

These were the only words that escaped my lips as I looked at each member of this familiar boyband.

SeungHo Sunbae-nim, G.O. Sunbae-nim, Joon Sunbae-nim, CheonDung Sunbae, and Mir Sunbae.

MBLAQ.

"Yup. The singles had already been delivered to the music stores today even though they're gonna be released tomorrow. We had 5 pre-ordered copies, and we want you to sign all of them." Joon Sunbae-nim told me, and in shock, I nodded.

"Here's the one for me, Noona. Could you sign it first?" Mir Sunbae said excitedly, and I saw the other members smile widely as they waited for their turn. I quickly signed the CDs, not fogetting to write a short message to each of the MBLAQ Sunbaes.

I can't believe it. Why are they so appreciative?

I was still so lost in my thoughts that I never noticed the other two members of SHINee, which hosted the now finished show, entering my dressing room. They all came to me and trapped me inside a hug.

"You were great!" Both of them exclaimed and I can't help but chuckle at how adorable they were being.

"Gosh, if we weren't hosts earlier, we would've been screaming your name like absolute fanboys along with the audience." Onew Sunbae told me as he released me, which earned him a few more laughs.

"Yep. When I introduced you earlier, I tried my best not to show my excitement. Good thing I had control." MinHo Sunbae added before trapping me in another embrace.

"It's just too bad that Key Sunbae couldn't watch me live." I said with a sad tone, sighing afterwards. Key Sunbae had been so busy in preparing for the last trimester of the school year in DaeGu. After all, he'd be returning to his studies, which I admire. It's because he would be juggling two important aspects of a youth's life, schooling and your aspiration.

"Yeah. But I'm pretty sure that he would watch you on podcast or something, Noona. As far as I know, it's his break time there." TaeMin-ah told me, wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

I was still pensieve over what was happening when suddenly, a few knocks on the door cut the conversations inside my dressing room. Being the one nearest to the door, MinHo Sunbae opened it.

And I gasped.

"Is Selene-sshi inside?" A smiling Jung YunHo said as we caught sight of him, holding two copies of my mini-album.

"We just want her to sign the pre-ordered CDs we have." A smirk lined the corner of Shim ChangMin's lips as he held a marker in hand.

"Sunbae-nims, please, come in." I can only say as the two members of the just returned DongBangShinKi went inside my dressing room. I quickly accepted the CDs and signed them.

"We were intently listening to you backstage while you were performing." YunHo Sunbae began as I was signing his. I just smiled and bowed my head a little as I finished leaving a short thank you message to him.

"And in listening, we noticed that you didn't use any back-up vocals." ChangMin Sunbae said, and at that, the whole dressing room erupted, only exclaiming one word.

"MWO?!"

"Whoah. Only a few people can pull that off." LeeTeuk Sunbae added as the noise subsided. I tried my best not to laugh at how amazed they were by the fact that...

...yes, I didn't use any back-up vocals. I didn't do lipsync in my debut.

And I suceeded.

"Even WE can't pull that off, hyung." DongHae Sunbae chirped in, and everybody laughed.

"But seriously though, even MBLAQ would have a hard time without back-up voices, especially with dance songs." SeungHo Sunbae-nim said, and I nodded. I understand their pains in performing. Even I had to train for a month and a half without back-up vocals so that I could perform it without support today.

"I bet that the people who watched today would be producing videos with your back-up removed. They'll surely be shocked when they realize that you didn't use any." JongHyun Oppa said, and I saw smile creep onto the lips of LeeMyeong Abeonim, who made his way beside me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Oh well, that's pure talent, Selene-ah. You have it." He said, and I SWORE I saw the heads of the Sunbaes inside my dressing room nod.

From K!NewsHive.tv:
Selene's Debut Performace, No Back-Up Vocals?

Comments:
@558: She's such an amazing singer. Definitely someone to watch out for.
@731: Wow. I wonder, how much did she train to do something as hard as that?
@994: This is real talent. She doesn't depend on background music, she depends on herself to survive.
@1056: She'll definitely stay long in this industry.

From K!Today.net:
"Ain't No Other Man: Music Removed" : The Real Thing?

Comments:
@710: This is the real thing. I have tried removing the music, too. Her vocals are as clear as her CD track.
@852: Unbelievable talent...
@996: Just like the others, I've tried re-editing her voice and the music. This is her real voice. She's so talented. Definitely in the list of my must-hear-again artists.

From AllKPop.com
"[Review]: Ain't No Other Man - Selene"

Perhaps you had seen the amazing new star from SME and how she blew everyone away with her "background voice"-less performance. Just like any curious fan, I had tried editing her debut performance, and I almost fell out of my chair when it was really true that her voice is flawless. This great debut of hers made me buy a copy of her mini-album, and now, I give out my review, point for point, for her 4 track debut single.

1. Ain't No Other Man

This song had blown me away. Listening to the song in CD quality had already mesmerized me with her voice, much more when she sang it live. This is my favorite track in her debut album, actually, because it made me travel back to the time of showtunes and 60's. But surprisingly, it didn't sound like an oldie. In fact, this song had raised my standards on singers and how I view the 'power performers'. This song had me hooked at the intro, and until the end, it showed me how much of a great artist she is.

2. Goodbye

After the first track, I was prepared for a constant 60's feel, but no. It was like time travel from the past to the present. This song is also very good as this modern pop showed how well Selene adapts to different tones, ranges, and beats. This poppy tune is simpler than "Ain't No Other Man" but it had a hook of its own. Everytime I would her the start of "Na-na-na-na.."in her song, I would sing to it along with her. This tune is catchy in a sense, and something I would expect her to sing if ever she'd have a concert.

3. When It Was Me

This song, along with "Ain't No Other Man" is on my songs-worthy-to-be-repeated list. This slow song, but not a ballad, had introduced me to how good Selene's adaptation skills are. And once more, this song had me on the intro, and until the end, I loved it. Her adlibs were just in the right place, and I would definitely support it if she'd ever promote this song in the future.

4. Bang A Drum

A great dance song and a happy go lucky tune. You can listen to this song while you're studying to keep you awake. Or, you can use this for a soundtrack. This is one of the tunes that I felt inclined to dance to. It made me smile at how Selene's voice is autotoned, about 3/4ths of the song. It made her sound cuter. I am pretty sure that if ever I'd describe her voice in this, I'd say it as a voice that knows no time nor boundaries. She can change her voice to fit something for the summer season, or a powerful 60's track. In this case, it's the summer season factor.

Overall:
This mini-album is pretty diverse. I say diverse because her songs in this are ranging for summery feel, to show-tune feel, to mellow, to poppy. Her voice, as I already mentioned, is something that knows no limits. She is a very versatile singer, and her songs prove that. It's no wonder if she'd succeed in the industry, because just like what she's known for ["BoA's little sister], she has her own talent that transcends styles. The songs are great, and they are definitely ones to watch out for. I'd recommend this to anyone who would wanna have a collection of cool songs. Seriously.

And on a side note, Selene is not only talented. She has great looks too.

January 29, 2011

A sreaming crowd greeted me as I went inside the studio to perform once again for another music show. In response, I waved at them and smiled. In such a short time, a week to be exact, many people had already supported my carreer. A group of 90 initial fans had already created my official fanclub, MoonBeam.

Why MoonBeam, you ask?

It's because Selene is the goddess of the moon in mythology. Getting that information, they created MoonBeam, or the light of the moon that is under the power of Selene, the goddess of the moon. I liked the idea, and I can't help but smile at how creative the minds of my fans are.

My fans.

I still haven't gotten over the fact that my carreer had started. I still am not over it.

They even made a fanchant for "Ain't No Other Man".

I can feel it from the start...
[Se-lene-ah!]

Couldn't stand to be apart...
[Saranghae!]

Something 'bout you caught my eye...
[Se-lene-ah!]

Something moved me, deep inside...
[Hwaiting!]

I tried my best to keep my composure as I continued to sing my song. It was because tears were threatening to fall. I was so happy that eveyrthing is great. I just hope that people would stick with me, and that they would continue to support me. After all, without them, Selene wouldn't be Selene.

"Is this real?!"

I can't help but exclaim as I stared at HeeSung-ah. She had come into my dressing room after my performance for today. From the current votations, it looks like TVXQ, or rather, the HoMin Tandem, would have a rival for the first place this week.

And surprisingly, no, shockingly, it's my song.

"It's a win-win situation for SME. Whichever artist wins, it's still gonna be in favor to them. Besides, the orders for your debut album are double the number of the available copies. The company will be doing a repackage of your album soon." HeeSung-ah added.

And at that moment, I almost fell from the chair I was sitting on.

"MWO?! Don't start joking now, HeeSung-ah. It's something serious." I told her, disbelief creeping into my veins.

"And I'm not joking, Selene-ah. It's true." She said, and I could only take a deep breath. I still wasn't over this.

Is everything happening reality?

I kept asking this to myself. I was quiet the entire time until a voice cut me from my thoughts.

"Yo, ShiRin-ah. I bought my own copy of your debut album. Mind signing?"

I asked again that question to myself as I heard that voice.

Is everything reality?

But as I saw JongHyun Oppa approach me, a marker and my CD in hand, everything started to crash down on me.

It's all true, ShiRin-ah.

It's all true.
