Ring… Ring… Ring…
“Aish!” Changmin mumbled as his hand searched for his phone. “Yoboseyo?”
“Sir?” A soft voice asked.
“YAH! LEE!” Changmin sat up. “How did you get my number?”
“Get ready, sir. We’re picking you up in 20 minutes.” Rim said as she hung up, completely ignoring Changmin’s question.
“What the-?” Changmin blankly stared at his phone screen.
“What’s taking him so long?” Rim mumbled as she looked at her watch, which indicated it was 25 minutes since she informed Changmin.
Finally, unable to wait any longer, Rim went inside the Shim mansion.
“Who are you?” The guards stopped her.
“I’m Lee Rim, Shim Changmin’s assistant.” Rim said.
“Sorry, we can’t let…” The guard was cut off when Mrs. Shim came out.
“Oh my!” She smiled as she saw Rim. “And who are you?”
“I’m Lee Rim.” Rim bowed slightly.
“Lee Rim… Wait, you’re my son’s new secretary, aren’t you?” Mrs. Shim smiled.
“Ne.” Rim slightly bowed.
“Let her in.” Mrs. Shim said.
The guards nodded and let Rim in. Rim passed them and went towards Mrs. Shim.
“Kamsahamnida, Mrs. Shim.” Rim smiled.
“Why are you here, Rim-ssi?”
“I’m here to take Mr. Shim Changmin to work.”
“Jinja?” Mrs. Shim smiled.
“Ne.”
“Well, I think he’s still asleep. His room is on the second floor; the fourth room to the right-side.”
“Kamsahamnida, Mrs. Shim.” Rim bowed and went upstairs.
“Who was that?” Grandmother Shim asked as she came out.
“Changmin’s new secretary.” Mrs. Shim smiled. “Isn’t she pretty?”
“She is.” Grandfather Shim came out and smiled. “And she is also well mannered.”
“Yah!” Rim opened the door, only to find Changmin sleeping.
She went into his room and began to shake him furiously.
“I’m up! I’m up!” Changmin sat up and saw Rim. “YOU!”
“Hurry up. We have work to attend.” Rim said coldly.
“What the hell is wrong with you? How can you treat your boss this way?” Changmin shouted.
Rim ignored his shouting and stopped near the door.
“Be ready in 5 minutes or else…” Rim went out.
Changmin nervously gulped. He knew he irritated Rim a lot, but didn’t know what would happen to her when she reached the limit. Now she reminded him of his mother when she would fight with Mr. Shim. Not wanting to know what ‘else’ meant, Changmin stood up and took a quick shower. He brushed his teeth and dressed up. Then he rushed downstairs.
“Oh, you woke him up already?” Mrs. Shim asked as she saw Rim come down.
“Ne, Mrs. Shim.” Rim smiled.
“Aigo… You’re so cute!” Mrs. Shim smiled. “Call me ‘eomma’.”
“A-a-ani. How can I?” Rim blushed.
“Why can’t you?” Mrs. Shim smiled.
“Hello!” Grandparents Shim entered the living room.
“Ahnyeongseyo!” Rim bowed.
“You’re even prettier when you’re so close!” Grandmother Shim exclaimed.
Rim felt quiet uneasy. It wasn’t the fact that Shim family was a bit weird, but the fact that she wasn’t used to such a family aura.
“Yeobo!” Grandfather Shim said. “I think she’s afraid of our actions.”
“Omona!” Grandmother Shim said.
“Ani.” Rim smiled.
“Yah! Lee! Let’s go.” Changmin said as he appeared.
“Oh, right.” Rim stood up.
“I guess I’ll be seeing you every morning then.” Mrs. Shim smiled.
“Umm… Maybe. Goodbye!” She bowed and she left the room, following Changmin.
“Wah!” Mrs. Shim smiled. “I really like her!”
