"Have a sit?" Hyerin said

Gu Donghae take a sit on the chair beside the bed.

"I heard it from the news" he said "How are you?"

"I'm fine, I'm preparing for the surgery"

The atmosphere is a little bit awkward for them.

"I'm going back to Paris by next week"

"Hmmm... have safe trip then" she nods

Gu Donghae suddenly grab her hands "I'm sorry for everything, I know I can't turn back the time but I'm regretting everything. If I aren't so stupid you won't be here"

"It's okay, it's all in the past now, I don't want to get angry anymore. All I want to think now is the present and future."

Gu Donghae cries "I'm really sorry..... Hyerin.... Please forgive me"

"Oppa... I said it's okay... I've already forgive you ever since, you did what you did because of your love for me"

"I promise I won't bother you again, this is the last time that you will see me."

She smiles "Yeh, I think so... and even we see each other again I won't recognize you anymore"

"Wae?"

"It's either I will die on the operating table or after the surgery I will forget everything.... If I survive this surgery and I wake up, everything will be new to me and there's no chance that I can regain back my past memory"

"I'm really sorry..." he cries hard

Hyerin place her hand on his cheek "I said it's okay, everything happen for a reason. I don't blame you...not at all..."

"I'm sorry.... I'm really really sorry.... because of my selfishness I did awful things to you."

"Donghae oppa" she wipes his tears and look at him directly to his eyes "can you do something for me?"

"Anything"

"When you go back to Paris, promise me that you will forgive yourself on everything that happen here and you will live happy, huh?" she smiles at him

"I promise.... but you also need to promise me something."

"I'm listening"

"You will get through this surgery and you will be happy with him."

"Off course, I will" she kiss his forehead "Thank you for loving me"

Donghae return to Hyerin room with her request, he quietly peek out in the room.

"Yah, what are you doing?" Hyerin sees him

Donghae giggles "I thought he still here"

"He already left few minutes ago"

"Ah...." he nods his head

"Where's my cake?"

"It's here" he pull the bed table to the bed, place the cake and the drinks. "Happy?"

"Off course, it's my favorite"

Donghae sit on the couch and watch tv

"Oppa can you get the brown envelope inside the drawer"

Donghae stand up and open the drawer. "Here" he gave it to Hyerin

"It's yours, keep it" she casually said

"What is this?" Donghae open the envelope and pull out the papers inside "Lee Hyerin, what is this?"

"Documents you might need someday"

Donghae sigh and remove the bed table

"Yah... I'm still eating"

"Punishment" he sits on the bed "Baby"

"Oppa" she capped his face "Just let me do this..."

"But we promise each other to stay together forever"

"I know that"

"Then what is this divorce paper and you already sign it"

Hyerin sigh and lie down "I just thought of it when I wake up after I lost consciousness for 5 days. I can't leave you just like that..... I can't afford to leave you hanging."

Donghae lie down also and pull Hyerin to his arms "Then why this?" he still holding the papers

"We can never say what will happen in the future.... you might find someone better than me"

"No, I won't... you are the only one for me.."

Hyerin look up "Don't want to restrain you just because of the piece of paper, I want you to be free on everything without any doubt or guilt... if you want to move on, I want you to have a good start, that's why I'm doing this."

"Why are you hurting me like this?"

"I'm not hurting you, I'm preparing you for things might happen later on.... I'm just telling you if you want to go, do it..."

"Hyerin...."

"Just keep that one...for my peace of mind..."

Donghae sigh "Fine... I'll keep this but I'm telling you this, I will never ever going to leave you. I'm ready to be your brother, friend until you accept me again to be your half. You might forget it but I will do it..." he kiss her head "I love you... I love you very much."

"I love you too, oppa... please make me fall in love with you again."

"Don't worry.... i will..."

Few days later, the date has set for Hyerin's surgery and she already preparing for it.

One day, the members have a free time to visit Hyerin at the hospital. They saw Ms. Kim outside the room.

"Noona, what are you doing here? Is something happen?" Donghae ask

Ms. Kim shakes her head "She ask me to go out for awhile, they are cutting her hair now for the surgery tomorrow."

"Is she alright?" Sungmin ask

Ms. Kim shakes her head "That's why I'm here"

After few minutes, the nurse comes out.

"We will come back later to check her vitals" the nurse said

"Okay, thank you"

They all come in, Hyerin is already wearing a bonnet, heads down playing with her fingers.

"Annyeong...." they greet

"Oppa..." she got surprise

"Got a hair cut?" Kyuhyun tries to lift her mood.

Hyerin touch her head "Yeh... just got this..." she force a smile

"You look beautiful..." Donghae kiss her forehead

Hyerin still not please "Do you know when oppa is coming?" she ask

"He will be here by afternoon, don't worry he will be here before your surgery" Donghae answer

"What time is your surgery?" Sungmin ask

"9 in the morning..."

"So...we can still have a little party here by afternoon"

"Party?" she's so clueless

"Yeh... a good luck party.." Eunhyuk

By afternoon, the members bought a lot of food for their little party. All of them are having fun except for Hyerin.

"What's wrong?" Donghae ask

"Jungsu oppa, you told me that he'll be here by afternoon" she pouted

"Let's just wait a little longer okay..."

"Hyerinssii..." Hyukjae call "Siwon brought a gift for you"

"What is it?" Hyerin excitedly ask

"Yah, bring it in"

"What the hell.. Siwon... this is so heavy" Sungmin whines while pushing a big box inside the room

"I'm sorry... I got overwhelmed to buy Hyerina gift" Siwon explain

"But this is too much...and heavy" Kyuhyun kick the box

Suddenly the box move itself. They all moved away from the box

“Yah!!! Siwonnie what’s in there?”Hyukjae ask                                              

“Gift for Hyerin” Siwon answer

“Is there something in here?”Kyuhyun kick the box again and again

“YAHHHHH!!!!!! Leeteuk came out from the box and they all laugh

“Jungsu oppa, what are you doing in that box?” Hyerin ask while laughing

“Well, I wanted to surprise you, so I ask Siwon’s help but… thanks to this…”he is trying to get out of the box. “to this… to this…”they are enjoying watching Leeteuk in his struggle

“Yah…. Can you please help me?” He give up acting cool

Kyuhyun and Siwon help their hyung.

“This kid” Leeteuk hit Kyuhyun’s head “you are so evil”

“I told you, you raise an evil kid” Hyerin commented

“My baby sister” Leeteuk and his kissy face walking towards the bed

“Yah!!! Oppa… don’t you dare….”she threat

“Let oppa gives you a kiss….”

“Donghae-yahh!!!! Stop that Ahjussii”

Donghae comply by his wife command and block bed from his hyung.

“I’m your hyung, move” Leeteuk

“Sorry, hyung… I’m more scared to Hyerin than you.”

“What?”

They all laugh at Leeteuk’s silliness

“Come here oppa”

“My little princess” Leeteuk hug his sister tightly and kiss her head.

After all that chaos, they all settle down.

“Are you ready?”Leeteuk ask his sister

“Neh, oppa” she show a smile to them but she fail to cover her fear

“Don’t be scared, we will be here when you wake up.”Leeteuk hold her hand

“Oppa..”a tear escape from her eyes “I already gave Donghae every document that you will be needing, just in case.” She wipes her tears “And also, please take care of my babies in my studio. If ever…”

“No…no..no… don’t jinx yourself…. Everything will be fine, I believe it, umma and appa will protect you. Huh? So stop that if ever thing in your mind, just think to come back.”

“Dongsaeng-yah…. you can do it… we are all here to guide you, I’m willing to share my wisdom to you.”

“Yeh right, Cho Kyuhyun….” She stick her tongue out

After the party, all the member leave to let Hyerin take a rest. The siblings kick out Donghae for awhile to have some privacy to talk.

“Now, they are gone, we can have our little quality time.”Leeteuk close the door

“Oppa” she tap the space beside her

Leeteuk sits beside her and Hyerin immediately hug her brother.

“Oppa, I love you” she speak with her sweet voice.

“I never expect that I will hear those words from you again.” He return the hug

“Why?”

“Because you already have Donghae, I thought you don’t need me anymore” Leeteuk is acting pitiful.

“Yah, no matter what happen, you are still my number one oppa”

“I know that, you are always be my baby sister.”

“Oppa….”

“You want to say something” Leeteuk broke the hug

“I gave some documents that you and Donghae will be needing just in case.”

“Hyerin….”

She place her finger to Leeteuk’s mouth to stop him from talking.

“Here me first, okay?”

Leeteuk nods, as Hyerin remove her fingers

“I gave Donghae our divorce paper”

“What!!!!?”

“Yes, and I’m asking you if ever he will use that document.” She stops and take a breath “Don’t stop him and support his decision.”

“But, Princess…”

“As I said to him, I don’t want him to restrain him, I don’t want him to left hanging. So, I already gave the key to his freedom.” She smile bitterly “After all, I will not know it, if he will be using the key.”

Leeteuk sigh and hug her “What am I going to do with you? Maybe I should teach you how to be selfish when you wakes up.”

“Should I also ask Hyunnie to make me his disciple?”

“Yeh, probably”

The two siblings laugh together.

Donghae open the door

“Are you talking about me again?” he ask

“Yeh… we’re talking about how I will throw you out in the sea.” Leeteuk jokingly response

“Baby, you still have another visitor” Donghae said

Dr. Hyun and Mr. Hyun follow behind Donghae.

“What are you doing here?” Leeteuk stand up

“Oppa” Hyerin hold on to her brother hand “I was the one who ask him to come”

“Hyerin” Leeteuk’s face can’t be read

“Everything will be fine.” She smile at him

They let Hyerin and Mr. Hyun talk for awhile.

Mr. Hyun pull a chair and sit beside the bed.

“How are you?” he ask

“I’m perfectly fine, little nervous for tomorrow.”

“Don’t worry, Seunghyun will do everything for you to be fine.”

“I know that” she smile and look at Mr. Hyun “Are you going to stay here after my surgery?”

Mr. Hyun smile “I would like to, but I think your brother won’t be allowing that to happen.”

“I’ll talk to him, after all he said he will spoiling me all the way.”

“Your brother really loves you”

“So, you are”

Mr. Hyun face light up

“Can I ask you something?” Hyerin ask

“Anything, my dear” he smile at her

“Well, if you can or if you like… uhmm… uhmmm” She having difficulty to construct her words and she begin to play with her fingers.”

Mr. Hyun takes Hyerin’s left hand and place it between his hands “it’s okay, just say it”

“If I wake up, can you stay? I mean, can you help my brother and Uncle to guide me until I’ll be walk to stand and walk again on my own.” Tears escape from her eyes “After all, you still taken care of me before.”

“Off course” Mr. Hyun is also in tears “It will be my greatest pleasure to be part of your life. You are still my daughter no matter what.”

“I can’t call you appa, but I can call you Uncle”

“That’s more than enough for me, my princess”

“Why everyone calling me princess?” she get sulky as she dry up her tears

“Because from our eyes, you are our princess.”

“Just promise me you won’t take me away from my brother and Donghae” she smile

Mr. Hyun pull her for hug “Off course, I won’t do it, I’ll stay here with you. I won’t let anything happen to you ever again.”

“Thank you” Hyerin sigh in relief

“Thank you, Aesun”

Leeteuk goes home for that night to prepare some things that Hyerin might need after the surgery and also to let his two dongsaeng to spend time together until tomorrow.

Donghae just got out from the bathroom preparing for bed.

“Donghae- yah” Hyerin call out

“Yes, baby”

“Am I still beautiful?” Hyerin ask

“Hyerin..”he sit beside his wife “Yes, you are still beautiful, you are still my goddess”

“Really? Are you just saying that to comfort me?”

He pat a sweet kiss on her lips “You are beautiful no matter what happen.”

Hyerin capped his face “How will I know that I will see this face when I wake up?”

He also place his hands on her face “You will, eventhough your mind will forget, I know and I believe that your heart will remember this warm hand and warm hug to comfort you.” He hugs her tightly

“Should I wear tag with my name after your surgery?”

Hyerin lightly hit Donghae “Silly..”

He broke the hug and kiss her forehead “I’m here.. don’t be scared.

“Donghae-yah…. I love you…. I love you so much” tears starts falling from her eyes “I love you….. I really love you… I’m sorry…. I’m really sorry.”

“Baby” he wipes her tears as he is also crying “We talk about this, it’s okay, I’m okay, I’ll be waiting for you.” He kiss her again and lean his forehead to his “I love you, my dear wife.” He hold her hand “I love you and I’ll wait for you.”

“Why are you crying so much?”Hyerin wipes his tears and smile at him

“You are the one who start crying here, you crying baby”

“Look, who’s talking about being a cry baby”

They both laugh at each other.

The next morning, they all gather at Hyerin’s room, they only have 3 hours left before her surgery.

“Just don’t thinks of anything else, we will be here waiting for you” Leeteuk hold his sister hand

“Would you please stop crying? You and Donghae are the same, always a crying baby”

“You said that right.”Kyuhyun comment

“Hyunnie, please take care of this two. Make sure they won’t make a scene while I’m inside.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll tie them up and throw them to the sea.” Kyuhyun evilly smile

“Hyerinssii… we will lock them out once they do that.”Eunhyuk said, as they all shared laughter.

TOK TOK TOK

A knock on the door cut their happy moment.

“Are you ready?”Dr. Hyun enter the room with two nurse

“Yes, uncle” she answer but nervousness can be trace from her voice.

“Then let’s go now”

Hyerin just nod as tears begin to fall like water falls

“Jungsu oppa” she hugs her brother tightly

“Everything will be fine, when you wake up we still be here” he kiss her forehead “Umma and Appa will protect you, I love you, my dear sister”

“Ahjussi….”she tighten her hugs to her

Jungsu can’t let go of his sister yet, but he take up all his courage and little by little he let go of her.

“Baby” Donghae immediately hugs his wife

“Yah, you are crying again” she gently tapping his back “I love you even I will forget to tell you that.”

“I know that and I always remember that”

“It’s time to go now” Dr. Hyun said

“Donghae, it’s time.”

Donghae let go and wipes her tear “I love you, baby” he kiss her forehead then her lips “I love you.”

Hyerin fix herself “I’m ready now.”

Dr. Hyun gives her a hug “Just be strong, okay?”

“Yes, uncle, I know that you will take care of me”

Dr. Hyun just nods

They are all waiting outside the operating room, feeling nervous and anxious as the time passed by. After 6 hours, the operation is a successful and they just need to wait for Hyerin to wake up.

The two days after, Leeteuk and Donghae are watching some tv.

“uh….hmmmmm….”they heard a small whimper

Leeteuk immediately turn his head to see Hyerin is slowing waking up.

“Call,uncle hurry” he said to Donghae

Donghae hurriedly run outside and return with Dr. Hyun

“Hyerin….”Leeteuk calling her “Hyerin…. It’s me… Jungsu oppa” he hold her right hand and squeeze it tightly.

“uh…..uh…”Hyerin slowly moving her head

“Baby…. Open your eyes…. I’m here… your Donghae…”

Slowly, Hyerin open her eyes, weakly closing and opening her eyes.

“Baby… baby… are you okay? Are you there?” Donghae shows her a sheet of paper “Lee Hyerin, are you there?” he ask again

Hyerin slowly lift her left hand and touch the paper that Donghae’s holding before she fell unconscious again. Donghae smile and tears runs down from his eyes.
