JungKook smiled brightly at the text he received at 12:43 am while he was supposed to be asleep.

JungKook giggled but he couldn't help the awful feeling that Seohyun was doing something that Kai would kill them both for doing. "Why did you call me?"

Seohyun sighed on the other line. "Because I have no one else to talk to and I knew you were awake, too. I would've called Hyoyeon, but she sleeps like a log like Kai," she answered softly. JungKook threw the covers off his body and pulled on his jacket before he opened the door and went out the balcony. Then he closed the door and leaned over the railing.

"How did you know I was still awake?" JungKook asked.

"You don't sleep much anymore, JungKook-ah!" she stated, and he knew she wanted to speak more, but he cut her off.

"Yeah, well, I'm getting better, thanks. I do sleep, and I eat, and I smile, and I talk to people," he said. Then he sighed and closed his eyes before speaking again. "If I needed help, I wouldn't ask for it from the same thing that's been making me miserable all this time," he muttered. Luckily, she didn't hear him.

"It doesn't look like you're getting better."

"Ask Krystal! In the morning, I want you to ask Krystal if I look like I'm getting better or not and she'll say yes!"
