"Time to say goodbye, Jeon JungKook," a painfully familiar voice said. Seohyun peeked around the corner of parents' home. There was JungKook, and he couldn't see her, facing the owner of that voice with his hands trembling as they reserved a space in the air. Kai grinned crookedly with the dagger in his hand, placed so close to the younger boy's head, ready to kill JungKook at any moment.
"She loves me. Don't you want her to be happy, Kai?" JungKook whimpered. Seohyun gasped softly as she watched the scene go down.
"She loves me, you . You know, if you're this stupid, you don't deserve to live anyway," Kai explained, stabbing deeply behind JungKook's ear without a second thought.
Tears instantly filled her eyes. She couldn't hear herself yell his name, but apparently he did. He turned and dropped to his knees. Seohyun ran to him but tripped, falling under him with her thighs in between his knees. She cupped his cheeks and pulled his lips closer to her own carefully. He met her kiss and placed both hands on the ground next to her head. She knew this was his last kiss, and it was only a matter of time before he died, so she kissed him the best she could. "I'm scared," he said softly, his voice on the verge of his end, like the rest of him.
"Don't be. The pain will go away," she assured him with the shakiest voice she had. She dragged her fingertips along his cheek. "Oh, JungKook..."
"I love you, too."
Death. That's all that filled the air. She tasted death. She watched death happen. The sharp scent of death still hung in the air. That's all everything ever was; it was death. And it scared her.
Seohyun woke up in the middle of the night. Her mind was still swimming in the memory of her recent nightmare. Beads of sweat gathered on her forehead and her breath was heavy yet shallow. Seohyun didn't have to worry about waking JungKook up, because she had gone back to her own dorm. Without his strong arms, she was alone, in the dark. It was past midnight. She grabbed her phone and immediately called JungKook.
"Hello? Seohyun, do you have any idea what time it is?" JungKook answered softly, with an annoyed tone in his voice. She smiled at the sound of his voice.
"Hey, Kookie. I couldn't sleep," she stated tiredly. She heard a deep sigh on the other end.
"Neither can I. Maybe I should come over there," he offered, and Seohyun could practically he
