Against ItIt was late April. Yuri held Jin's hand tighter than ever when JongDae walked by with his new girlfriend, Kim Hyuna, chatting animatedly about something stupid. And Yuri pretended not to notice him when he winked at her. "Hey, Yuri!" he said proudly while she tried not to wince, but she plastered a smile on her face at the greeting anyway.
"Hi, JongDae-ah, how's it going?" she replied as she forced herself to hide her awkwardness beneath a smile. But JongDae just grinned at her evilly like a Cheshire Cat, waiting to pounce on prey. No one else saw it though, meaning Yuri was completely alone for JongDae to destroy her from the inside out.
"It's going pretty well, actually. Who's this?" he asked. Jin managed a smile, completely forgetting that JongDae had once made fun of her in the coffee shop and he'd been so pissed about it. But Yuri was hoping he'd remember.
"Umm, JongDae, this is my boyfriend, Kim Seokjin," Yuri answered nervously, as if this was a test and she was constantly worried about getting so much as a word wrong. JongDae was still grinning, and it made her that much more anxious. And she didn't even know why she was so nervous. JongDae didn't matter to her anymore. Why did she care now?

And now she could not make it stop.
"Oh, great! I've seen you in my advanced physics class. Take care of her, eh, Seokjin?" JongDae said playfully, breaking his piercing gaze to smile comfortably at Jin. Jin smiled brightly back.
"Yes, of course. She's wonderful, why wouldn't I?" Jin asked rhetorically, but Yuri knew that JongDae could think of so many ing reasons.
"Ah, she is. I'm glad you could make her happy. Yuri, this is my new girlfriend, Kim Hyuna. What fun, they have the same last name," JongDae stated slowly. Was it wrong that she found torture, a deep alarming red coloured underneath the words, for every syllable of that last sentence?
"Yeah, that is funny. Nice to meet you, Hyuna," Yuri answered, trying to sound as confident as possible before she bowed in greeting to Hyuna, and she smiled and bowed back, but oh, JongDae could see right through Yuri. He knew there was not an ounce of confidence in Yuri's body at the moment and he chose to manipulate her with it.
"Nice to meet you, too, Yura," she said with a cheerful smile like she'd made a new friend.
"Actually, it's Yuri," she corrected the girl. Hyuna's expression swooped downwards to a frown, looking genuinely unhappy.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I have a friend named Yura, I didn't mean to," Hyuna apologized. And Yuri smiled dismissively, knowing she wasn't even trying to be mean. She didn't try to murder Yuri from the inside like JongDae would've wanted her to. She was just stu
