Maybe We Meant Something
Against ItIn that moment of silence, the front door opened slowly to reveal a cautious Yuri. "Oh my god, you guys do need me," she said, more to herself than anyone else. Jin looked back in confusion.
"Yuri, how did you know to come here?" he asked. Yuri smiled brightly.
"Jimin called me on your phone. Don't you just love Jimin?" she giggled. Then she looked YoonGi and Namjoon. "Anyway, what happened to you two?" she asked.
"Well, JungKook was being a little , so I said a few necessary curse words and then Namjoon-" YoonGi started, but Yuri stopped him there.
"Okay, obviously, you have no idea what happened. Namjoon-ah, what happened?" she questioned.
"He said some inappropriate things, I yelled at him, he threatened me, I made fun of him. Next thing you know, YoonGi and I fought. We're fine, though," Namjoon explained, adding a smile at the end. Yuri nodded and smiled back.
"Nice to know you both found it in yourselves not to kill your best friend. Especially you, YoonGi," Yuri said. YoonGi just rolled his eyes. "It looks like you two are fine for now, so- oh my god, JungKookie, what happened?" Yuri asked with concern, going straight over to JungKook.
"Noona, I'm fine, really," JungKook said, failing to hide the whimper that followed.
"What happened?" she repeated.
"Seohyun and I broke up. Noona, it's not fair that I have to tell you. You already knew that," JungKook replied, biting his lip to stop himself from sobbing. Yuri's mouth hung slightly open as her eyes widened.
"No, I didn't, JungKook. Seohyun stayed with Taeyeon at her dorm. She didn't tell me anything. JungKook, are you okay?" Yuri asked softly, laying a gentle hand on his shoulder. He just pushed it off.
"No. Now why don't you go comfort your little dongsaeng and make sure she's okay first? Didn't she always matter more than me in the first place?" JungKook asked.
Jin rolled his eyes at how dramatic JungKook was being. Honestly, you'd think he was more mature than a 14-year-old girl, he thought. But Yuri didn't think or act like that at all. "Oh no, JungKookie, do you really think Seohyun comes before you?" she questioned lightly, brushing his fringe out of his eyes. At that point, JungKook just broke down and sobbed because Seohyun wasn't there and he felt so stupid and awful and it hurt so ing much.
A few minutes later, Yuri was sitting on JungKook's bed with him with his head leaning against her shoulder while she somehow got him to calm down and explain what happened. "Shh, Kookie, you're okay. I know it really hurts, sweetie, but you're okay. Maybe you should just apologize to her," Yuri suggested.
"She'd n-never listen t-to me, Noona. She already has K-Kai and she d-doesn't ever want t-to s-see me again. You kn-now she d-doesn't want me anym-more," JungKook replied, trying too hard to keep his voice steady. Yuri cooed and wrapped an arm around his shoulder.
"JungKook, what makes you think that?" she asked. "Do you know how many times Seohyun cried when you left for the beach?" Yuri added with a giggle.
"How many times?" JungKook asked, clearly interested but trying not to be.
"She cried at least four times. And she only cried because she missed you. She loved you. I'm sure this affected her, too. It's unfortunate that you two broke up, but don't you dare think for a second that Seohyun didn't love you," Yuri told him.
