The gentle music floated their way into Alex's ears which put her nerves at ease. "Look at the pretty fairy lights," She pointed at the trees dotted with yellow grains of light.
Jackson smiled and placed his hand on top of hers. "It's nice to get to go out sometimes after all."
Ever since Jackson had developed feelings for Alex, he had always insisted that they would spend time together in either his or her house. He knew how dangerous it was to take her out, especially now that his rival pack had declared war against them.
"I told you so! I don't understand why you don't like taking me out." She chuckled and rested her head onto his shoulder. If only you understood, Alex. He thought to himself.
Suddenly, a shiver ran up his spine as his ears perked up. His back straightened and his senses became sharp. "Is something wrong?" Alex asked as she noticed the sudden tension on his face.
For a moment, Jackson stayed quiet as he scanned the area but quickly shook his head and focused his attention back to her. "It's fine." An affectionate smile appeared on his face.
As much as Jackson tried to ignore his strong senses, he couldn't quite keep still on his seat. "You know we can leave if you're that desperate to get home." Alex huffed as she folded her hands on top of her lap.
Jackson's head shot up and looked at her with a frown. "I'm sorry," He mumbled and forced himself to face her.

Alex was slowly losing her patience as she watched Jackson's eyes occasionally leaving her gaze as she tried to tell him about what had happened at work. "Hey, seriously, is there something wrong? Do you need to go to the restroom or something?"
Instead of answering, Jackson quickly grabbed hold of her wrist and pulled her up. "Let's go somewhere else." It sounded more like a command than a suggestion, a contrast to how he had planned for it to come out.
"Alright," Confused, but Alex obediently followed behind him as he led her out of the restaurant.
They were practically sprinting on the open parking lot. "Slow down!" Alex said in between pants. "You know I don't like running!" She clutched onto her shirt and tugged him backwards.
"Alex it's not safe outside!" Jackson said but she pulled him back and bent down on her knees. "Give me a minute," she panted.
Jackson, frustrated, swooped her off of her feet and quickly placed her into the passenger's seat. "Why are you in such a hurry?" She was beginning to get irritated.
"Please, just be quiet!" He hollered as he ran to the other side of the car and into the driver's seat. "We have to hurry." He added then ignited the engine and clicked on the locks of the car.
Jackson quickly drove out of the gloomy parking lot as silence started to fill in the empty space around them. "What's going on?" Alex whispered as she nervously twiddled with her thumbs. Fear was starting to settle into her and she felt tensed.
"Baby, I need you to dial Mark." He didn't take his eyes off of the road as he handed her his phone. "Okay," She muttered as she took the phone from his hand and quickly dialled for Mark with h
