"See you later." Hoseok smiled and walked ahead of her. "See you." She mumbled to herself and forced a smile when Hoseok turned back and sent her a small wave which she gladly returned. "As usual," she whispered and let out a long sigh. This reminded her of two years ago, the first day of their freshmen year which was also the day that their parents have agreed upon an arranged marriage.

They were both tremendously angry. In fact, they were both beyond angry. They were enraged. Their parents even arranged rendezvous after classes every Friday as they thought it would have given them time to get to know each other better until after their senior year wherein the marriage was scheduled. Since their first year of high school until to the present after the countless 'dates' which they preferably called 'forced meetings', latter part of junior year, here they are actually getting along.

After almost two years, they're actually starting to feel better about what was to come after senior year. They've pushed aside the past and are looking down on the greener side of the mountain though they have both agreed on keeping this arranged marriage drama as a secret until they graduate for the sake of their own safety and sanity. 

The first three months of freshman year was probably the worst months Aina had ever had to endure. She was made fun of, humiliated, used, and the worst part, she was ignored by the boy whom she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with after senior year. She was basically a piece of paper torn from its bundle that had splashes of black and red ink from broken pens and was crumpled and thrown into the bin and no matter how much she tried to remind herself of the wonderful idea of she and Hoseok getting along, it seemed as if she had an infinite wound scarred onto her heart and mind that would open once in a while.

"No!" Hoseok stood up from the couch and ran his fingers through his hair out of frustration. "I am not marrying her," He angrily pointed at Aina who felt like she was shrinking into her spot. Hoseok was furiously inhaling and exhaling while pacing around the room with everyone's eyes on him because of his sudden outburst. "Jung Hoseok," His dad started. "Stop this nonsense," He barked and slammed the palm of his hand onto the wooden coffee table.

"No, you stop this nonsense! You're making me do something I most definitely don't want to do especially with someone I despise!" He waved his hands in the air as weird gestures while he was speaking his mind. "I come home from school one day and find out I'm going to get married to some loser—"

"Hoseok that's enough!" His mother stepped in and held onto the sleeve of his uniform.

Hoseok's anger slightly faded as his hard expression softened a little. I guess he has a soft spot for his mother. "Enough," She repeated and tugged onto his sleeve. Hoseok closed his eyes and cringed “I—I just don’t get it, okay? I don’t understand why you’re making me do this.” He whined like a little boy who wanted to buy a lollipop from the candy store. "It's for the best of our family business. It's very important." His father mumbled and calmed himself down.

"Am I not important to you? Will you just disregard my feelings and opinions then tie me with someone I don't know for the rest of my life?" He pointed at Aina once again. Anger started boiling in the pit of her stomach as she bit onto the insides of her cheeks to prevent herself from blurting out anything. "It's not like I want this either," Aina mumbled and her eyes quickly widened right after. . She thought to herself.

"Then we don't need to do this anymore." Hoseok shrugged and slung his backpack over his shoulder. "She doesn't want it, I definitely don't want this. Then we can just cancel and pretend like nothing happened," He waved and rushed for the door. He looks insane. "No cancellation will happen and the marriage will push through." His father, who was taking his son's tantrums awfully too calm stood up. "You have four years to get to know each other anyway." He added.

"I have a proposition for you," His mother blurted. Everyone's eyes reverted to her as she clasped her hands in front of her. "Let's see, in four years," She looked her husband then to her son. "At least try to get to know each other and if by the end of that long time and you're still against it, then, the wedding is off." She held her chin high and inhaled.

Hoseok scoffed and dropped his bag onto the floor. "My mind won't change." He mumbled. "Four years is a very long time, Hoseok." She smiled and settled down onto the chair. Hoseok shrugged and left the room. "I'm sorry about him, Aina." His mother walked towards her and gently rested her hands onto Aina's shoulders. "He's usually not like this," she sighed. Aina bit on her tongue and so badly wanted to roll her eyes. Hoseok is always like this.

"I'll be going now," Aina stood up and courteously bowed to Hoseok's parents. "You won't be staying for dinner?" Mrs. Jung raised her eyebrows. "Oh, no. My mother is probably waiting for me at home." She waved her hands in front of her chest and politely bowed her head a little. "Thank you for your hospitality." She smiled. "Oh, tell your mother that we'll be dropping by to visit tomorrow." Mrs. Jung smiled before Aina shut the door.

Once Hoseok entered the school gates Aina quickly adjusted the length of her backpack strap and advanced toward the school gates. "Hello," She smiled and politely bowed at the security guard who was standing by the entrance. "Good morning," He smiled and pushed the door open for her. She smiled and made her way into the building.

Aina smiled as she walked down the hallway which was once the place of her agony. She remembered all those times when took her first steps as a freshman in this hall and the first time she was picked on and ignored.

"Walk her home tonight, Hoseok." Mr. Jung said and rolled up the window and drove off before Hoseok could even protest. "I'm fine on my own." Aina mumbled and turned to walk away. "Good because I have zero plans to actually walk you home." Hoseok scoffed and pushed the door open and walked in.

Hoseok rolled his eyes as he walked into the school. Even though he was just a freshman he's part of the school's dance troupe which made him quite popular plus the fact that he was one of the richest students in the school along with Aina.

The two of them were extremes. Aina was filthy rich just like Hoseok but she's not extravagant. She doesn't spend her seemingly infinite money for useless crap. She only buys what she needs and even shares with others while on the other hand, Hoseok is lavish. He spends his money on things he would never even need.

Aina is far off better than Hoseok. She actually cares about her academics and pays attention in class unlike Jung Hoseok who thinks he doesn't even need to put any effort into his studies since his father has earned more than enough money to support the children of his son but in the pathetic critics in school see as though Aina is no good for Hoseok.

Aina scurried off to look for her locker when somebody grabbed onto her wrist and pulled her back. "Who do you think you are?" Sunmi, the school queenka, growled. She looks like she could kill a worm. Aina remained silent and averted her eyes onto her shoes. "Stay away from Hoseok oppa or else," Sunmi shoved Aina's shoulder against the cement wall as Aina winced at the sudden impact.

“W—What do you mean? I don’t even bother him.” Aina stuttered and quickly picked up her bag which fell from Sunmi's sudden actions. "Lying . I saw you talking to him just a few minutes ago at the school's courtyard so stay away from him." Sunmi shoved her one last time before walking away.

She hurriedly went for her locker before the bell rings, just like any other day. "Seven," She whispered as her lock popped open. "You know, you shouldn't say your pass code out loud. People can't be trusted." The familiar high pitched voice that made her eyes roll in annoyance squeaked from behind her. "Go to class, Sun
