Nari stood outside Sungmin and Donghae’s shared bedroom and saw the blonde boy preparing to go to bed to finally fall into slumber after having that delicious meal the elder had happily cooked as usual. Sungmin was finally done with buttoning up his pyjama shirt and with a sigh; he sat on his pink bed and carefully lifted and placed his plastered foot on the bed.

She knocked on the door with a small smile and entered the room without even waiting for a response. Oh well, the whole house belonged to her literally.

Sungmin looked up from his foot to the person who had gained his attention by knocking and entering the room. “Oh Nari umma, anything you wanted to talk about?” he politely asked with the same smile the elder was giving him.

Nari stopped in front of her own son’s blue bed and took a seat on it since Donghae was yet to get done with his fourth serving of chocolate ice cream downstairs in the living hall. “Sungminnie, I heard some news from a very reliable resource of mine today. The news concerns your rejection of the sweet and romantic proposal to go on a date by our charming Kyuhyunnie. Am I hearing it right?”

Sungmin’s smile faltered at that and he couldn’t help the inevitable scowl that was soon plastered on his face in the form of a cute pout. He really needed to work more on his angry expressions.

“And I guess I can assume that reliable resource revolves around either the one whose proposal I rejected or their best friend, if not mine.” he huffed with the pout.

“Well, someone among those three but you get my point nevertheless. Now, mind telling me the reason you declined that sweet offer? Because as I see it, you both had been exchanging sweet and romantic kisses before this whole ‘Chance’ started.” She had already come up with an idea to make sure Sungmin ended up on a date with Kyuhyun but she needed to make sure her plan wouldn’t be something that could disturb Sungmin emotionally if there was a strong reason behind his rejection.

The flashbacks of all the kisses Sungmin had shared with Kyuhyun recently came flying into his mind and the effect of those flashbacks was apparent as the deep hues of pink on his cheeks.

“I don’t know what I will do if I do go on a date with him.” he spoke while looking at his plastered foot. “I can’t seem to get my mind off those sweet kisses either and I don’t want to succumb to my temptations of kissing him again because if I happen to go on a date with him, I might probably end up kissing him and that wouldn’t be fair to Siwon.” He started picking on his pyjama pants as he continued looking down on his foot, “And I don’t even know who made me more embarrassed today!” he looked up abruptly while whining. “They both rice grains from the sides of my mouth during the break time, twice! It was so difficult to control my embarrassing blushing because of it. ” There was a shining glint in Nari’s eyes when she heard that but she knew better to control her feels. He then looked back to his left foot, “If I do go on a date with Doctor Kyuhyun, I should go on a date with Siwon-ah too. And if I do go on a date with Siwon-ah too, I should be giving him a chance to kiss me the same number of times I’ve ever shared kisses with Doctor Kyuhyun because I still am not sure if I’m tempted to kiss Doctor Kyuhyun because he was the only one who has kissed me that way by far or not. And I’m scared to kiss Siwon-ah to test my theory.”

Nari softened at that. “Then how else do you expect your heart to select a winner at the end if you don’t go on dates with them and keep restricting your heart of its desires?”

Sungmin looked up at the elder with facial features full of doubt. “What if my heart likes Siwon-ah’s kisses too? What if I become more confused than I already am? What if I happen to lead someone among the two who I shouldn’t be leading till the very end this whole situation gets solved and done with?”

“Why don’t you let those dates decide the answers for you? Why don’t you let the suitors sweep your feet off the floor instead of pondering on all these questions you will never get to know the answers of unless and until you really act on your ‘Chance’?” Nari counterattacked with that motherly smile. Seriously, she knows when to be serious and when to be… well, creepy.

“But Nari umma, they have been treating me as a female! As a princess!” he retorted back and added in a soft voice just enough for her to hear along with his famous pout, “It is hurting my male pride.”

“Aigo~, You are really so cute. You have to let them know about that problem and you have to do that by talking to them. But don’t you worry. Just so you know; I have helped you out this time with your problem.” Sungmin looked at her in question. “I’ve invited Hyukjae-ah and Kyuhyunnie on a dinner to our home sweet home tomorrow.”

“Oh no. Not the dinner again.” Sungmin cutely deadpanned while Nari giggled in happiness and pinched Sungmin’s left cheek with her left hand’s fingers…All the fingers…

“Oh yes. Now go to bed and don’t overwork your brain. Let the events unfold by themselves and don’t reject anymore dates from tomorrow on. The dinner tomorrow is not counted as a date. You and Kyuhyun will have to re-talk about it tomorrow after dinner in the garden on that lovely swing chair.” Nari teased. Sungmin groaned upon the reminder and semi-harshly plopped his upper body on the bed, allowing it to bounce a little due to the impact. Nari bent a little to Sungmin’s face and gave a soft kiss on his forehead before ruffling the boy’s hair lovingly and exiting the room not before keeping the A/C’s temperature bearable at night. She climbed down the stairs after closing the door behind her and no sooner, Donghae too made his way towards his bedroom to get his much needed sleep.

Giving a happy kiss on Donghae’s forehead before sending him off to his own room, she finally headed to the kitchen to clean out the mess the brunette had most possibly made. She went and sat next to her husband to his left side on the couch; who was busy watching some re-runs of Running Man and munching on a few chips from the packet in his hands; and rested her small and light weighted head on his broad shoulder.
