Chapter 16
The one I lost my first kiss to...A/N: Be prepared. Don't say I didn't warn. But there's nothing to be warned of really.
“I’m not gay.” Sungmin finished.
And Kyuhyun felt a sharp pain in his heart.
“But what if you become gay for him?” Donghae sounded very eager.
“You don’t understand, Donghae. I can never imagine myself becoming one.” Sungmin’s voice could be identified as self-confident but there was some melancholy concealed in it.
“So, you hate gays?” Donghae asked dejectedly. And that’s when Kyuhyun decided to just leave the cafeteria. He couldn’t bring himself to listen to the shorter male’s answer. He was distressed, unhappy and aggravated. The frustration meter would explode anytime now if he would continue to eavesdrop any further.
And hence; just like any other Korean drama, he didn’t bother to hear the boy’s response and left.
“No. I don’t hate them. I respect them just like any other person should be respected. I can’t be judgmental about anybody but myself.” Sungmin clarified.
“In that case, why are you so sad and gloomy?” Donghae was extremely curious.
“Because I lost yet another friend now.” Sungmin heaved another heavy sigh. “I had really started to like him as a good and close friend.” He couldn’t help the sad pout invading his lips.
Donghae turned sad at that too. “Did you meet him after last evening?” his expression was the mirror image of Sungmin’s.
“No. I didn’t. I couldn’t bring myself to face him.”
“So, what are you going to do now? Ignore him for eternity?” Donghae suggested the last sentence with uncertainty.
“Like that would be possible. But I’m not even sure if what he feels for me is anything more than liking a friend. I don’t even know if he realized his actions last evening. Maybe, we are over thinking about things.” He was hopeful he really was wrong and was instead over thinking about Siwon’s actions.
“I guess you should talk to him.” Donghae paused and slid his own tray of food towards Sungmin. “Eat these now. I’ll get something else for myself.” and strolled off to the food counter.
Eyeing the plate with stomach rumbling desperately, “It’s better to face Siwon-ssi with a filled stomach.” he said to himself and started gobbling up the contents on the tray his now best friend had offered to him.
………………………………………………………………….
“What do I do, Heechul hyung? I don’t know how to react when I come across Sungmin. I can’t even go and meet his mother because I just can’t get those images of what I did last evening out of my mind. I behaved so unlike myself at her supposed birthday party. It was supposed to be memorable and I ruined it all. I don’t even know what came over me!” Siwon was in an unfathomable muddle.
“Will you shut that mouth of yours and finally stop blabbering and hence, spare my ears from getting destroyed?” Heechul was getting agitated. How could he not? His best friend had dashed into his apartment early in the morning and was still eating up his head despite it being near afternoon now. And what more? His best friend named Choi the great Siwon had decided to raid his place just the night after Heechul ended his two year old romantic relationship with his now ex-boyfriend…on a very bad note.
Yes, you heard it right. Siwon’s best friend of seven years was gay. And he was openly gay, with oozing pride.
“But—”
“Why did you even do all that if you had to regret it all the very next morning?” the scowl on Heechul’s beautiful face couldn’t have gone any deeper than it already was.
“I don’t know! I just reacted on impulse when I saw that arrogant pharmacist at the party!” Siwon was going extreme with his own involuntary gestures. He was pacing to and fro the living room behind the brown couch restlessly.
Heechul was looking at Siwon’s restless form with such irritation that it could burn his best friend…if looks could do that, that is. “So? You decide to promote sudden skinship?” the only thing keeping Heechul at bay was the fresh Tropicana cranberry juice he was currently sipping on to.
“He was about to approach Minnie—”
“Wait. Minnie?” oh boy, Heechul was a mocking king… or should it be queen? “Since when did Sungmin turn into Minnie?” and that smirk on the great Heenim’s face.
“I meant Sungmin.” the tall medical intern was profusely blushing a deep shade of red. “He was about to approach Sungmin—” at that Heechul’s smirk widened. “—and all that he did to Sungmin suddenly flashed in my mind.” he finished.
“So you decide to do the first best thing you could think of. You go and hug the boy from behind and then you decide to hit an iron axe on your own feet by kissing his cheek.” The sarcasm was trickling down from every word Heechul spoke. He just couldn’t spend a day without using
