Subject: Hey!

I got your letter today Hana & I enjoyed reading it on the airplane. They had us go to japan again briefly again, but we're going to be back in Korea in just a couple of days due to a concert in Seoul. It's called the Hi Seoul Festival and I'm really looking forward to it, since it will be our first big concert in Korea that we've had in a long time. Anyhow, I thought I'd let you know that it would be a few days before I was able to write a reply.

Hope studying for finals is going well! Hwaiting!!

Okay! Lucky duck getting to travel all over the place. >.< I'll be looking forward to your reply whenever you get the chance to send it. Finals studying is totally frying my brain. I also have a big final paper due in just a couple of days, so I'm editing like a squirrel on coffee. :P Travel safe, work hard, have fun, and eat lots of yummy food!

Thanks, my silly goose! We landed a little after you sent the email, so I couldn't get to this until the evening.  Thanks for being understanding! Don't let your brains get fried -I don't want to have to feed brain fries to Zombies. J.K., I'm sure you'll do fine on your exams and don't forget to take little breaks for some "you" time too. 

A squirrel on coffee?! That must be a sight to see. :O What's your paper on?

Subject: Hey!

Hahaha, you're so silly Kevin! Glad to hear you arrived safe and sound.

I sure hope there won't be any brain fries or Zombies. :O I'm trying to take some me time, but there's just so much to remember and do. :P Yeah, I'm flying around doing a million things at once. Mary keeps rolling her eyes at me, but she has fewer "exams" than me because one of her biggest projects is a drawing or painting or something that she should ace. My paper is on childhood obesity in the inner city and strategies to reduce or prevent it. It's an interesting topic, but I don't do as well on research papers in comparison to creative assignments.

You'll get it done! Ik remember how you were always a determined and stubborn individual when we were kids -once you set your mind to something you had to see it through to the end. Mary's probably laughing more at how you look than your situation, but I can see her side too because it must be amusing seeing you fly all over the place -I'd probably be giggling too! 

Wow, that's quite the topic. I'd love to read it when you get a chance and are over the frantic editing and typing you're doing. I'm curious to see what solutions you have for helping with that situation. If I were you I'd treat this topic like a creative writing assignment, but with added facts and some quotes for good measure. ;) If you're getting really frustrated though; go take a walk and have a talk with God -that always clears my head when I'm just out of sorts and having a nothing's going right day.

Hana's POV 4.29.2009

I had read Kevin's last email quick before working on my paper some more, but things weren't going well. Writing it as a creative assignment helped a bit yet I still hit the perpetual brick wall of writers block. I frowned at my laptop screen and ran my hands through my hair in frustration. Mary had gone to the studio for a while to work on some of her art projects so she wouldn't fumigate me out of our room. I decided I'd take Kevin's other advice and take a walk and talk with God.

I left a note for Mary and went out:

Be back soon, went for a little walk to clear my head. -Hana

I decided to take a walk in Washington Square Park becuase I need a good walk anyways. For a while I just wandered around until I found a quite park bench. I sat down and closed my eyes to pray.

'God, please help me know what to write so I can finish my paper. I'm really frustrated right now and I just can't seem to relax. Mary seems so calm and collected this year for her finals, but I'm really struggling with them for some reason. The classes aren't really any harder and writing is a passion of mine, so I don't get it?!

Help me, someone, or something to convince Mary to visit CRU and help continue to guide her as she's finding her place in life. I'm really excited that Kris has really changed and is so enthused about learning about you although I don't know quite where his heart is at. Help me also to continue to be a light to others on campus and please start to work on Matt's heart -I know I probably shouldn't be dating a non-christian, but he's a really special person that I think I could spend my life with otherwise.

Be with Jae as she's working on getting the major and minor details worked out for the wedding. I feel bad I'm not there to help her, but I'll be home soon enough to help her out. Just a little longer and I'll be home! And....'

My thoughts were interrupted by Kris' all familiar voice.

"Hey Hana! Were you sleeping?"

"Nope, I was praying and trying to clear my head."

"Oops, I'm sorry! Do you want me to leave?

"No, that's okay. What's up?"

"Can I sit for a few and talk?"

"Sure" I said sliding over a bit due to me residing in almost exactly the center of the bench.

"I have something I really want to tell you."

"Shoot" I said smiling.

"I accepted Jesus as my Savior today Hana!"

"You did?!" I exclaimed questioningly in a semi-shocked state.

"Yep, God's been knocking for a while, but I finally realized that I needed him and it just has given me such peace."

"I'm so happy for you!" I said tearing up and giving him one of my rarer bear hugs.

"Hey, stop crying, you're going to turn into a prune if you keep crying." he said patting my head.

"I'm just so happy the tears won't stop." I said half laughing and in between my little sobs.

"Hang on." Kris said peeling himself from me and pulling some tissues out of his pocket.

"Thanks." I said blowing my nose.

"You're welcome." he said grinning.

All of a sudden someone walked from behind me and yanked Kris off the bench by his shirt collar. 

"What do you think you're doing with my girlfriend?!" said Matt as he threw a punch at Kris and knocked him to the ground. He continued hitting him without letting Kris explain.

"Matt stop! Stop it right now. I can explain!" I said trying to pull him off of Kris, but he knocked backward with an arm. I sat there stunned for a minute with wide eyes.

"No, let this jerk explain for himself." he said gruffly.

"STOP it this instant! You're not giving him a chance explain it himself." I shouted. He ignored me and continued to hit Kris who was quite battered by that point. "SERIOUSLY, STOP IT OR I WILL CALL THE COPS!" 

"Defending your lover boy?!" he said getting off Kris and turning on me.

"No! He's a friend only and I was hugging him because he told me some really exciting news tonight." I said as he walked towards me.

"Sure, that's what they all say." he said angrily and continuing to walk at me so I had to keep backing up. 

"Matt, it's the truth and if you can't believe me...just break up with me. Matt? Matt?! MATT?!" I said a bit frightened as he pinned me against a tree. I wrinkled my nose from the alcohol I could smell alcohol on his breath.

"Hmmmm, well I don't know what to believe, but Hana you're mine." he said as he started kissing me roughly and groping me in places I didn't care for him to touch until we were married. I had never felt so frightened in my life -Matt was too strong to push away and I could worm my way out of his grasp either -I was trapped and at this rate I felt like I might get .

"Let her go." said Kris in a steady voice from behind, but Matt ignored him. "I said, let her go! If you continue, I will call the cops and have them charge you with assualt and ual assault."

Matt stopped and let go of me, so I crumpled into a heap at the base of the tree. He took Kris' shirt again, and said "Don't you dare or my careers will be ruined."

"Then leave, and think about what you did today." said Kris as he took Matt's hand off of his shirt. Matt reluctantly shuffled off down the path.

"Thank you Kris." I said tearing up again, but not with happy tears like the last time.

"Come on, let's get you back to Mary." he said crouching to give me a piggy back ride.

*Hello my lovelies! Wow, I didn't really plan to go this route with this chapter, but it kind of just happened and you got to see a little bit of the true Matt. This sure has been a busy summer, but it's all been worth it! I'm waiting for a grade on my last video portfolio and I passed on the other two. Then my MDL friend and pen pal came for a visit this past weekend and we had a good time! Plus, I've gotten to the point of having next to no acne these past few weeks -yay! My dermatologist joked at my checkup today that soon I'll have all the boys chasing after me. XD I should have clarified to him that I don't want all the guys chasing me though -I just really want a guy that's a man after God's own heart. <3 ~AA Hope all of you are well!!
