Chapter 31- Sundae Letters & Norae's Diary
Letters to U-kissHanna's POV- a couple weeks into March of 2010
February 28, 2010
Dear Hana,
You deserve to be spoiled! I'm so relieved that you liked all the little messages from the guys. They wouldn't let me see what they wrote in the album book before I sent it, so I was a little worried that they'd be a little odd. Promotions are going very well and the CD seems like it's going to be our best-selling one so far! Bingeul Bingeul is on the top of the charts in the phillipines for K-pop, which is pretty cool -I didn't know we were so popular elseware.
We're going to be traveling to various places around Asia, so I might not be able to get your letter replies very quickly. However I will have access to a computer here and there in addition to my phone for texts or calls. ;) At the end of March we're going to be having a big concert and some mall shows in Manilla, Phillipines. I'm excited because I've never been there before and it seems like a really neat place to explore a bit.
Those candies are sure amazing aren't they?! When I first tried them I was a little unsure about them because grape stuff in America usually tastes like cough medicine, but they were such a pleasant surprise. The weirdest candy that I've had, which isn't all that weird, is some red giseng candy. It smells like those asian beetles that you spray your plants for, but they don't taste super bad. That sounds like quite the interesting candy experience you had! I don't think I'd like chili powder candy either, but who knows -I'd try it just for something different if I get a chance to. If I remember I'll have to send you my ultimate favorite Korean Candy -it's almost like a nougat flavored like walnuts. It doesn't sound too exciting, but it's really tasty!
I remembered you didn't like fish after I sent you the shrimp chips -sorry! Glad you were able to regift them to someone that appreciated them though. He transferred to NYU? Wow, that's interesting and no I don't remember you telling me that. Is it because he wants Mary back? He better not do anything to hurt her or make you worry again or I'll have to teach him a little lesson.
That does sound like a really nice date! I didn't know you were that fussy when it came to ice cream?! I love all kinds, but for sundaes I really like Strawberry Cheesecake ones. They're hard to find, but when you do find them, it's like heaven in a bowl lol. Both yours and Matts' sundaes sound good too. There are tons of ice cream places here and there's a frozen dessert that's shaved ice, coconut milk, sweet red bean paste, and other yummy toppings that's called Patbingsu which I really enjoy. Me and the guys go out for ice cream or patbingsu sometimes in warmer weather.
I asked Norae out on a date on valentines day, even though in Korea it's the day where girls give chocolates to the guys they like, and white day which is on March 14 is the follow up day for guys to treat the girls. I called her to find out if she was going to be home and then I took the bus over, knocked on her door, and surprised her with a box of chocolates. She seemed a little taken aback that I liked her, but she did say yes.
We went to a pet cafe called Sunnyne Pet Cafe in Seoul -they're really cool because you can play with dogs or cats while you have a drink, read a paper, or writing. Anyways, Norae loves dogs so I knew it would be perfect place to just have some fun. It made me so happy watching her pet and play with the dogs, since it was the most I'd seen her genuinely smile from the first time I met her. (My mom had invited over her and her mom over for Christmas dinner with our family, which is how we met and we started hanging out after that.)
Then after we finished playing with the drinks and drinking our hot cocoa, we went to a play at the SanwoolimTheatre nearby. It was pretty funny, but I wasn't highly thrilled by it. Norae seemed to like it a lot though. Maybe it was more of a girls play? After that it was getting late so I walked her to her apartment. She thanked me for the wonderful time, so hopefully we'll be able to go on another date sometime soon. I'm thinking it's going to be a while before that happens though because I'll be traveling so much with work and stuff.
I gotta dash!
Your friend,
~Kevin
Norae's Diary- Valentines Day
Dear Diary,
Today Kevin asked me out! I could hardly believe it and in the past I would have jumped at the chance. I don't know why I feel so hesitant to want to date him now though -maybe it was because I met that Jay guy? He's been texting me almost every day, but nothing too serious. Mostly just asking how my day was and stuff. He seems like a nice guy and he's super cute too, but in a totally different way from Kevin.
Anyways, Kevin just seemed so excited to ask me out that I couldn't bear to hurt his feelings and tell him I just wanted to stay friends for now. It was like THE perfect date for me and I don't know how he was able to figure that out -it's almost scary that he knows me almost better than I know myself.
We went to Sunnye Pet Cafe and drank hot cocoa while I played with all the dogs. They were so cute! There was a little yorkie that just wanted to snuggle and get petted, a HUGE Great Dane whose back nearly was as tall as my chest, and a bunch of other cute little mixed doggies. Kevin's face had the biggest smile on it and I couldn't help but grin back. I always wanted a dog, but Omma has always said no. :(
The we went to a play at the Sanwoolim Theater. I though it was hilarious and the acting was fantastic! The best part was when the lady tricked the guy into thinking the fan gave her magical powers and she was able to scare him away. His face was priceless! Kevin didn't seem all that thrilled by the play, but I was so touched that he seems to think more about others than himself.
He also walked me to my apartment which was really sweet and most guys nowdays say bye to their girlfriends at the subway stations or bus stops. Kevin definitely is kind of old school, but it's refreshing to have a guy that likes me without thinking of me as a because of the rumors. I wonder what Kevin would think if he heard about the?
I'm kind of worried what will happen if fans find out we're dating. I don't know if I'll be able to handle all the hatred since I get that enough of that as is just being me. Why do people hate me so much? Why do they believe stupid rumors?
Also, having paparazzi follow me around just because I'm dating someone would make me very anxious. If they were following me arond because I was famous, I wouldn't care, and hopefully someday I will be. Although on second thought it wouldn't be quite so bad getting caught by the paparazzi if it made me famous so I could break into a singing career. The exposure might not be so bad after all. Maybe then I'll be able to become a better singer and more famous than Hyomin is.
~Norae
*Hello once again my lovelies! I meant to add Hana's reply letter to this chapter, but it was just getting too long. I'll make another chapter this weekend -I promise! This story is taking a lot longer to expand and develope than I had originally anticipated, but soon the plot will be progressing a lot faster. God be with you! ~AA
