CHAPTER 14

       “The time you found me at mall instead of attending some meeting, it’s the time I was searching around for the necklace. But out of my expectation, it’s really hard to find one for you since I wanted the best for girl I loved most.”

        “Seobang… mianhae… I… I have accused you…” Jessica felt a huge guilt crept over her heart.

       “Gwaenchana,” Yuri shook her head and pulled her closer to her chest; her back up and down gently.

       “That’s why finally I thought I needed someone to help me to choose. And at the same time…”

FLASHBACK

       “Yul, do my favor?” Taeyeon asked as she stepped into Yuri’s room.

       Yuri lifted her head and looked at her. A grin started to play across her face as if she already known what was Taeyeon going to ask.

(It must be related with Tiffany…)

       “Go on,” Yuri replied in a cool way.

       “Next week is Tiffany’s birthday,” Taeyeon started to explain. “I want it to be special.”

       “Hmmm… what’s your plan? And how can I help you?”

       “I want to give her a ring. So just make any excuse to go along with her to jewelry shop and find her ring size.”

       Yuri’s eyes suddenly widened as the remark was out of her expectation. Give her a ring? Doesn’t it mean…?

       Taeyeon seemed still remained calm though she noticed Yuri’s surprise expression. Even she let out little giggle.

       “Why? You don’t think I can be serious, huh?”

       “I…,” Yuri still tried to manage her words. “No, I don’t think that way. I just… got surprised as I didn’t expect it. I mean… I never thought you will take further step as soon as this.”

       “I even never thought about it,” Taeyeon said. “Whenever it came to Tiffany, I found myself never been hesitated. All I want to do is to be with her all the time. So I won’t waste time by thinking about anything else.”

       “You’re really great lover, Tae. Tiffany must be very lucky to have you.”

       Taeyeon paused momentarily while staring at the ceiling, like imagining her life without Tiffany. Slowly she shook her head.

       “No. it’s me, that very lucky to have her. You know, I’m just nowhere but near to grain of dust without her.”

       I smiled like a crept while observing shining diamond ring in front of me, imagining in few next days, it would soon meet her real owner, that no other than my beloved one, Tiffany Hwang. It was absolutely very expensive but for her nothing was unaffordable even if I had to buy it with my soul.

       Carefully I put it back on the box and rose from my chair as I realized it’s time to pick Tiffany up.

       “Here,” she said briefly and shyly while proffering some stuff to me. I caught her bit her bottom lip, one of her habits recently I knew, that she used to do when she felt nervous.

       I smiled warmly and received the wrapped stuff with full of curiosity.

       “Why so sudden?” I asked curiously finding it’s for the first time she gave something to me.

       “It’s… not so sudden,” she explained. “Actually… I’ve thought about it for a long time but I just… couldn’t find any idea…”

       I giggled and stared at my shy Tiffany deeply. “You don’t need to take much effort like this. You know, you’ve already gave me everything I need. I need to be with you and you just let me come into your life. I owe you for that, Fanny~ya.”

       Her face just suddenly blushed hearing my remarks. I giggled even more and pinched her pinkish cheek.

       “May I unwrap it now?”

        She dubiously shook her head, made me wonder. “Why?”

       “I… I’m not sure you will like it.”

        I let out a giggle discovering her cuteness.

        “How can I don’t like it?” I . She still didn’t dare to look directly at me.

        “I… have no idea. You gave me a lot during this time. And I have no idea as well, what should I give to you… since I also want to give you something… something that…,” she trailed off and I listened to her patiently.

       “… something that may impress you,” she said and suddenly her face just blushed even more.

       I couldn’t help but dragged her into my hug.

       “You don’t need to do anything to impress me,” I whispered while caressing her back of head.

       “You don’t need to do anything. All I want from you is just let me love you all the time. That’s it. I promise I won’t ask for more,” I continued solemnly.

       “So, may I un-wrap it now? I’m really curious,” I asked her permission again, slowly lifted her head up by her chin so now she’s looking at me.

       I brushed my nose with hers for some seconds then gazing back to the stuff on my hand.

      Finally she nodded and smiled.

       Once I unwrapped it, I couldn’t help but I felt my eyes sparkled with love, joyful, and satisfaction as I found a knitted sweater… in purple… my favorite color. It was so damn cute, but what made me more satisfied was, I thought she made it herself, for me… Yeah, for me…

       “Mianhae, I… I’m not that good in knitting…”

       I didn’t give her any chance to continue her unreasonable sorry remark, as I shut by mine.

       “Gomapta,” I said. “You gave me much than I could ask,” I said and dropped another kiss on her forehead.

       “It… It’s for this winter,” she said.

       “I’d wear it in every winter whenever you’re with me,” I replied and widened my smile, suddenly remembered about the ring that I’d give to her, to make her mine forever.

       “I want it too,” she mumbled, but I could still hear it clearly.

       “Want what?” I asked confusingly.

       “I want spend every winter with you as well, Tae,” she said and looked at me with her puppyeyes, making me couldn’t resist it. Hell, she killed me this way.

       “Even not every winter, but four seasons in each year, I want to spend it just be with you,” she added again sincerely, making me slightly wonder as she wasn’t sort of people talked sweet and blunt like this.

       I reached her again to my chest so now she’s leaning her head on it. We’re just drifted into peaceful silence for some moment before finally she piped up again.

       “Tae… Can love have no possession?” she asked, out of the blue, making me frowned.

       “What are you talking about, Yeobo?”

       “Can love… have no desire to engage each other?” she continued asking instead answering my question. I stopped caressing and now threw her a serious look.

       “I don’t get it, Fanny~ya,” I said.

       “I want us to be like this forever, until our hair becomes grey, until age ruins our smooth skin, until wrinkle decorates our face, until fat covered our slender waist, I want always to be together with you, as if we’re two last people remained left in this world,” she blurted out like saying some message, but I really didn’t get it yet. So I just simply said yes, we’ll.

       “Tae…,” she called out my name again. This was really unordinary, since usually I was the one who much talking comparing with her.

       “Ne?”

       “Reminiscing the way we met… It’s really funny, you know?” she peered up at me. I just threw her a smile.

       “What if I never sent the text to wrong number?”

       I thought for a moment then answer.

       “If you didn’t do it, maybe at the next day we’d meet at Starbucks, you might spill some coffee accidentally at me, and I’d bully you for making any mess with me, and the next, just like we’d already passed through. Nothing’s changed,” I smiled gently and gave her quick peck.

       She frowned, seemed didn’t really get it.

       “What I was trying to say was… whatever the way, in the end I know that universe will always find the way to pair us. It might start with annoying thing but in the end, I always realize, I’m gonna fall in love with you.”

       I didn’t see it coming, as Tiffany did it so quickly. She planted a kiss on my lips for some moment and I caught this time her face didn’t blushed as usual. Then I caught she made another face.

       “Tae… I’m sleepy,” she said cutely.

       “Here, sleep on my lap then,” I guided her but she just shook her head and pouted cutely.

       “Wae?”

       “I don’t want when I wake up I don’t find you again.”

       “Silly. How can you think I’d leave you?”

       “It may you not leave me, but who knows some other girls kidnap you? You have no idea how many girls will crazy about you and target my position,” Tiffany said again, still with her innocent face, making me laughed hard.

       “Neomu babo,” I said, then suddenly rose from the bench and squatted in front of her.

       “W-what are you doing?”

       “Come on, climb on me. I’ll carry you during you’re sleeping, so you don’t need to be worry anymore.”

       She seemed hesitated and didn’t immediately get up.

       “I’m…just kidding, Tae. I just want to get your… attention… more.”

       I laughed again and patted my own back.

       “But I’m not kidding. And yes, you got my attention more. Now, just climb on me. I’m kinda tired keep squatting like this,” I said and slowly I caught her got up and climb onto my back. I just rose afterward.

       “Hug me tight and sleep peacefully,” I said and held her hand to wrap around my waist.

       “Is it comfortable enough?” I asked.

       “Mmmm… It’s the most comfortable ride in this world. What so lucky girl I’m can ride it even without earning anything.”

       “Who says?” I .

       “Huh?”

       “For every minute you ride it, you owe me a single kiss,” I said.

       “What?” she pretended to be upset. I smirked even wider.

       “Nothing’s free in this world, Agassi. Deal or no?”

       “No deal,” she said in fake annoying tone. “Put me down now.”

       I chuckled and decided to play around. “Okay, I gave in. Tell me your offer? I may consider it.”

       I couldn’t see her face but I could her giggled and embraced me tighter now.

       “What if I kiss you in every second you walked?”

       I almost die in amusement hearing her remarks.

       “NO!” I quickly said.

       “Why?” she asked teasingly.

(Such a teaser!)

       “Because it’s weird,” I answered coolly.

       “Oh yeah?” she asked back, and suddenly dropped me a kiss on my cheek.

       “Really? Because it’s weird? Not because you can’t resist it?”

       At the next second, she dropped the second kiss.

       “Of course not! Why I can’t resist?” I said defensively.

       At the couple next second she kissed my neck.

       For the first time I felt so hot inside. I felt my face burnt because of embarrassment.

        “Okay, okay. I give up!” I said and slowly squatted again and put her down.

       Now I faced her and saw she crossed her arms.

       “Hmmm, confession?” she demanded.

      I shook my head but couldn’t suppress my joyful feeling.

       “If you keep continuing kissing me like that, baby, you killed me already. You know I have no idea how long I can struggle to resist you to not demand more,” I admitted bluntly.

       She smacked my chest playfully.

       “Good to hear you admit it,” she stuck out her tongue and just kissed me again.

        Really she made me so die today.

        “Carry up me again?” she pouted.

        I smiled. “One condition.”

        “What?”

        “Don’t distract me with your kiss. Or both of us will eventually fall down.”

        She giggled but nodded and climbed onto my back again.

        “You’re so cute. I love you, Tae.”

        “Nado saranghae.”

        I put her gently on her bed. She slept all the way I carried her, and also, during I sent her back home. I stared at her for some moment, wondered how could on earth there’s some gorgeous adorable creature like her and wondered as well how could someone like me captured her heart already.

       I pulled up the comforter to cover her afterward. Before leaving, for the last time I crouched and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.

       “Sleep tight, Baby. Saranghae. Dream about me, okay?” I whispered like a fool, but I didn’t care.

       Not long after she left, I slowly opened my eyelids. No, I didn’t pretend sleeping. I was indeed sleeping all the way. But at the time she whispered to me, I accidentally awake.

       In the darkness, I saw my cell-phone light blinked, indicating there’s text coming.

       I read it in a glance and just put it back on the desk. The text came from Dong Hae.

       Have you told her yet? Now or later, in the end she’d always get hurt. So better you don’t spin out some time again.

       I slowly changed my position into sitting against the bedpost. I curled my arms around my knee and put my chin on it, covered my face. I pondered for some moment.

       Getting frustration, I grabbed some pillow and threw it away and it crushed some vase. The vase just stumbled and hit the floor, earning a colliding sound. I buried my face deeper afterward, I cried for a long time on my own. So many tears poured down so my bed sheet already drenched. In the middle of my sob I heard my heart kept murmuring…

You’re such a , Tiff… How could you hurt someone like her??? You should not be selfish… You should never start it out… You should never fall in love with her…
