Chapter 55

End

Beep. Beep. Beep. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

“Wake him up!”

“Come on! We need to revive her!”

“Jaejoong!”

“Hyung!”

“Cover her up with something.”

These were everything he heard when his ears came to their senses.

“Jaejoong!” Someone was shaking him furiously. When he opened his eyes, Chun Ju was looking down at him. “Stand up. Come on!” He pulled Jaejoong up and gave him a shirt and blanket to cover himself with.

He was confused. He didn’t know what was happening until he directed his gaze to the direction where everybody else were looking.

Kyoung Mi lay in bed, motionless. The doctor was trying to revive her, but her body won’t respond.

No. Jaejoong thought. Kyoung Mi, no!

Tears welled up in his eyes as the happenings of the past hours swept through his mind.

I don’t want you to see me die. He remembered what Kyoung Mi said. But he was watching her die. It hurt too much and he knew why Kyoung Mi wanted him to sleep, because she knew this was how he would feel.

“Kyoung Mi.” He whispered. “Kyoung Mi!”

The doctor looked at them sadly and shook his head. “Time of death, 4:16 am, January 5, 2012.

January 5, 2012. Jaejoong thought. Today’s supposed to be our first anniversary with me as Jaejoong.

He ran to her side and trapped her in his arms. “NO!!!!” He cried out her name over and over again, begging her to open her eyes.

“Kyoung Mi, listen to me. It’s Jaejoong, okay? Wake up now.” He was going insane.

He didn’t know what to do and he didn’t want to accept the fact that she’s gone.

“NO!!”

It was the time when one would do anything to get the person he loves back or to turn himself in as well. He would do anything just to be with her again. Anything to have the chance to set things right.

And that’s what fate gives him.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Jaejoong sat bolt upright, breathing so hard.

“Kyoung Mi!” He looked around, but he wasn’t in the hospital anymore. He wasn’t in anyone’s funeral as well. He was back in his room in DBSK’s dorm.

“What the..” He slid off his bed and went to look around his room. It felt. . . empty.

Where are Kyoung Mi’s pictures?

There was nothing.

He was desperately looking for everything that was connected to Kyoung Mi, making sure that no one threw them away, but there was nothing.

Until he laid his eyes on the calendar just above his bed.

“September 25.” He spoke. “2010.”
