Flashback To My Memories Of Her

~Jaejoong's POV~

So yeah, after that call with Changmin, I started my car's engine. Millions of thoughts were running inside my head.

What is Kyoung Mi thinking right now?

Does she secretly know (again) about our secret?

If she doesn't know and I tell her, how would she react? Would she get mad? Or will she understand?

If she gets mad, will she run away again? Surely, she will. And I don't want that to happen. I'd do anything to make her stay with me.

You might say I'm exagerrating when I say SHE IS MY LIFE.

Look at it this way.

I was a DORK, a GEEK, a NERD. Kyoung Mi, on the other hand, was SMART, BEAUTIFUL, and POPULAR. If you were our classmates 3 years back? Would you had expected that Kyoung Mi would actually hang out with me?

Nobody expected that, not even me. Why would anyone hang out with me anyway?

I didn't know anything. Yes, yes, I was a nerd and I got straight As, but generally, I didn't know anything. I didn't know how to start a car's engine. Malls were a huge maze for me. Cellphone wasn't a part of my life. I never shopped for clothes. (Everything was bought by my mom.) I can't sing/dance. I tripped on my own feet. And worse of all, I can't bring up a simple conversation with anyone.

But don't misunderstand me. I definitely DID NOT like Kyoung Mi just because she didn't despise me like the others or because she was the only girl who talked to me. I LOVE her. She may be all tough and smart in front of others, but when I spent nights with her, I saw the weak and vulnerable side that she hid from everyone. She opened up to me and I accepted that.

Kyoung Mi had a weak side in her. Once, when we (students) were told to evacuate the campus because of a said bomb threat in their building. That was when her weak side errupted.

Flashback

"All students of Seoul High, please evacuate your buildings now. We have an emergency and we suggest that you leave your things behind except your cellphones." I recognized the principal's voice through the speakers.

Quickly, our class stood up and left our room. As we were reaching the 3rd floor, I saw a teacher talking to Kyoung Mi. Something that the teacher said made Kyoung Mi's eyes widen. But being the usual her, she recomposed herself and nodded.

She then positioned herself by the stairs and started shouting instructions at her fellow freshmen. "No pushing please!" She shouted in a loud voice, alhough I could hear a hint of something else in her voice.

"Senior sunbae-niims." She addressed us. "If you could please walk faster, I would truly appreciate it."

I caught her eyes and gave her a nod, telling her to leave as well. 

She shook her head and mouthed "I can't. Duties."

We stayed outside for about an hour, but Kyoung Mi was still inside. I didn't want to think that there was really a bomb, but  couldn't keep myself from worrying when I saw the look in her eyes.

The day ended and it turned out that it was just a false threat. I was waiting for Kyoung Mi in the empty hall when I heard running footsteps.

"Junnie!" Someone shouted and next thing I knew, Kyoung Mi already had her face buried in my chest, crying her heart out.

"Baby sun--"

"Junnie! I was so scared!" She cried.

I wrapped my arms around her and whispered calming words, although I was so shocked by how she acted. She never cried before.

"Why?" I asked when I finally brought her to her room in their house. "Did the teacher tell you something tthe other students didn't know?"

She sniffed and leaned her head on my shoulder. "I don't know why I was so scared." She said as I wrapped a blanket around her with one hand, while I used the other to hold hers. "Seonsaengnim talked to me and said there was a bomb threat. I was fine with that, I knew things would be controlled."

"What frightened you then?" I asked softly.

She was silent for a short while before answering.

"The caller used my name and said I was involved in it." She whispered.

'I'm gonna kill that person!' I thought.

"Seonsaengnim said she knows it was a lie, but I still felt scared 'cause I didn't know why that person used me. I'm scared he might do worse than that."

I hugged her real tight and stopped her from saying more. She didn't need to tell me anymore.

"Kyoung Mi-ah." I whispered, rubbing her back. "Remember that I'll always be here, okay? Lee Jun oppa will not let anyone hurt you."

End of Flashback

I was brought back to the present time when I remembered what I told her.

Lee Jun oppa will not let anyone hurt you.

I promised her that, but I myself hurt her so much already. She's suffered more than enough because of me, and now I'm planning of keeping everything from her. Again.

I flipped my phone open and stared at my wallpaper of her.

"Kyoung Mi-ah, please say that you won't leave me when I tell you the truth. Please say that everything would remain the same between us. 'Cause as much as I wanted you to know the truth, I was too scared of the consequences. Should I tell you now?"

Suddenly, my phone vibrated and I received a text message from Kyoung Mi.

Junnie! Baby Jae! Where are you? *pouts*

I'm gonna cry if you don't come soon!

*mehrong*

I laughed as I closed my phone and drove home.
