Chapter 50

The Will That Changed Their Lives

Your POV

I parked my car in front of my house arounf 4:25 AM. I feel so tired. There were more out patients today than the usual. And some interns were just so…..

I punched in the code and went in. I saw my house phone blinking. I picked it up on my way to my room.

“Hey Soo!”

It was Ailee’s voice.

“I wont be back till this weekend, family calls. Anyway….uhmm, don’t go walking around in the house, arasso?”

Then the message ended.

What? I don’t walk around my house . I shook my head as I entered my room and dropped my bag on the couch.

Really, Ailee is…..a bit crazy.

Narrator’s POV

Soomin got in her room and took a quick shower. She changed into her usual sleeping clothes and slept. She didn’t even bother to dry her hair; she was that tired.

In another room, Yunho was sleeping soundly. The long flight had made him tired plus all the stress he’s been having finally took a toll on him. A part of him was relieved that he was in the same place with Soomin but he was worried. What if she rejected him?

Soomin woke up around 9 AM, after changing into a pair of running shorts and a racerback top she went down for her usual morning jog. She took her iTouch with her and headed out.

Yunho thought he heard the front door close. He sat up from his bed and looked at the beautiful view of the beach. The house had the perfect location, near the beach and near stores.

“Ailee must be back already.” He muttered to himself as he stood up.

He reached out for his bag and took out a small blue box. He smiled as he opened it and he looked at the ring on his finger.

It was Soomin’s ring. Their wedding bands.

“I have to get you back.” He said as he placed the box down and went to shower.

Yunh went down to the kitchen and decided to prepare himself breakfast. He was just wearing a white v-neck shirt and denim jeans.

Yunho’s POV

I looked through the refrigerator. Ailee had a lot of cereals and greens. But something’s strange. The fridge is quite empty. Maybe she’s been to busy. But it looks like it has been empty for a long time.

I looked around the house. There’s something familiar about it. I don’t know why. It’s like the way the things are arranged are not new to me. Some books sprawled over the couch. There were a few portraits hung on the wall. I picked up one of the books.

Wounds and Lacerations: Emergency Care and Closure

Medical books? Ailee’s a department head of a shopping mall, right?

Maybe Soomin drops by here. She must have left it.

After eating, I sat on the terrace. Should I give Ailee a call and ask her Soomin’s address? Or should I wait for her instead? I’m sure it was she earlier when I heard the door close.

So, Soomin lived her most of her life. I wonder how she adjusted; I wonder how she kept her close relationship with Min. This must be the reason why she’s strong and independent. She lived alone.

Then, I heard the doors open. Ailee must be back.

Narrator’s POV

Soomin went inside the house. She had tied up her hair in a ponytail and she was listening to music as she stepped in kitchen. She got a glass of water and took off her earphones.

She moved to the living room to get the remote control of the television. Then she heard someone say,

“Ailee-ssi?”

Soomin spun and she dropped the glass on her hands.

“Yunho!”
