Narrator’s POV

It was around 5:30 PM when Khun, Ailee and Soomin sat on the shore to watch the sun set.

“I miss this.” Soomin muttered with her eyes closed. Khun sighed.

“No you don’t.” Ailee whispered to herself.

“Lee, I told you not to bring it up.”

“I didn’t. I just wished that you would show your emotions sometimes, Soo. You’re……”

“So indifferent?” Khun joined.

“No. There’s a right word for that.” Ailee said. Soomin lay flat on the sand, letting the two bicker.

“I think she’s passive. She just lets every emotion pass. She doesn’t show it.”

The two nodded in agreement.

“What time is your shift again?” Lee asked.

“6 PM-4 PM.”

“What?! That long?”

“I have a lot of catching up to do.”

Ailee threw Khun a look. Then her phone beeped. Her lips formed a small smile and placed it down.

“Of course.” Ailee said.

Your POV

After changing into my work clothes, I went to the center.

“Shimmy! You’re back!”

I saw Nurse Holland wave at me.

“I’m still Shimmy?” I grinned as I gave her a hug.

“Yes, I miss our Korean doctor babe.” She grinned.

“Whatever, Holls.”

“I heard you got married. I saw it on the net. He’s gorgeous!”

I bit my lip. Please, not Yunho, again.

“Oh, yeah.” I replied.

“Is he with you now?”

I shook my head.

“It didn’t end up well between us.” I said.

“That’s a waste, honey. He seems to be the perfect guy.”

I just nodded. Why is everything reminding me of him?!

I made a beeline to my office to prevent people from asking me about my marriage. Has Yunho signed the papers already?

I looked at the papers on my table, well hello ten hour shift.

Narrator’s POV

Around 8:30 PM in California’s time a plane landed from Seoul. The young master of Jung Automobile went to claim his baggage.

On the other side, Ailee was grinning from ear to ear as she saw the plane land. She was glad she had texted Yunho. She has been very troubled about her friend. Soomin would always say she was okay, but in reality, she’s not.

Ailee got off her Benz and stood in front of her car. She waited as passengers from other flights went out. Then she smiled as she saw the familiar tall and lean figure.

Ailee shook her head. Even though the Jung Yunho was tired, he still looked handsome.

“No wonder Soomin fell for this idiot.” She whispered to herself as she waved Yunho over.

“How was your flight?” She asked as they drove.

“It was fine. You didn’t really have to pick up, I’m staying at Hi~”

“You know what, Yunho, just stay over at my place, I’ll be leaving for SF in a few anyway.” Ailee said with a smirk. Yunho didn’t see it.

“It’s okay, I can~”

“Just stay, okay? Besides, my house and Soo’s are just….a walking distance.” She grinned and looked away while biting her lip.

Her house and Soomin’s house were at least four blocks away.

Yunho could only nod.

“Do you know where she is right now?”

“She’s at the hospital, her shift ends at early in the morning. Just rest first and talk to her tomorrow, I know how jetlag can get to a person.” Ailee replied. Yunho nodded silently.

“Just tell her how you feel, I’m sure everthing would be fine after that.”

“How….did you know?” Yunho asked.

“From the beginning, I knew the kind of arrangement you two are doing has its dangers. But I’ve always noticed the change in Soomin’s behavior, and of course, yours. ”

“Thanks, Ailee-ssi.”

“Just Ailee.” Ailee grinned and parked the car in front of a beach house.

Yunho looked confused.

“This is your house?” Yunho asked he noticed the house’s beachfront. Ailee nodded as she hastily punched the code on the door.

“Your room is on the second floor, the one on the left, the one on the right…….is a just a storage….area.” She added as she opened the door for Yunho to pass.

“You’re not going in?” Yunho asked, he was puzzled.

“Ani, I need to be at San Francisco, my parents are waiting for me.”

“Oh, so~”

“Just rest first, okay? And, good luck!” Ailee grinned as she shut the door.

Yunho placed his bag inside the room. Then he went down to get a glass of the water. The house looked like it was newly cleaned, but it was beautiful, he watched the sea’s waves. Then he sighed.

“Are you really happy here?” He whispered.

Then he went up to his room and decided to sleep. He had much adjusting to do with the huge time difference.

Meanwhile, Ailee skipped to her car with a huge smile on her face.

“Really, for a top business tycoon, Jung Yunho’s too gullible.”
