Silently

Sent to a Bloodsucker

"Th- This is f-for you..." L.Joe stuttered. He mentally facepalmed himself for stuttering. Why was he so nervous?

You took the flower from his shaking hands and hugged him again. "Thanks L.Joe..."

"OH MY GOSH IS THAT HIM? THE L.JOE GUY?"

All the attention, from Jisu, Hyo, Ricky, Chunji, L.Joe and you, turned to Victoria who awkwardly realised that she was too loud.

"Unnie! What happened to keeping a low profile?" Sulli reminded, giving her a soft punch on the arm.

"Sorry, too excited," she giggled, hiding behind Luna and Amber and peeking over their heads.

You waved to your friends and gave them a giant smile.

"Are those your friends?" L.Joe asked, giving a small smile.

You nodded. "I met them after... the incident..."

There was a short silence, until L.Joe decided to ask about it. "Do you... still hate me?"

You shook your head. "No, of course I don't! I don't hate you at all! Nor will I ever hate you! What I said... I didn't mean... " you couldn't get yourself to say anymore an simply looked up at him. "I'm sorry, I really don't hate you. I like you..." you trailed off. *Oh gosh, so awkward.*

L.Joe smiled, with both his mouth and his eyes. "I like you too," he said, taking you by the hand. "Want to start the date now?"

You felt butterflies flutter in your stomach at the feel of his touch. You didn't know why you enjoyed the feeling so much. You felt embarassed, in a good shy way.

"_________-ah! Your ears are turning red!" Victoria teased, "just joking! Enjoy your day and tell us all about it!"

You lowered your head and stared at your shoes, laughing shyly.

He gave a comforting squeeze to your hand before leading the way. You looked up at him and smiled sweetly.

He still couldn't help but wonder how he was so oblivious to everything all this time. The way you looked at him clearly showed that you loved him. The look in your eyes showed so much emotion that you've been keeping inside all this time. It was as if he could tell you missed him all this time and that you regretted what you said to him. The funny thing is, only he could see this, no one else, just L.Joe.

He gave a laugh, almost as if he was shocked that he only realised now.

You tilted your head up. "What's funny?"

He shook his head. "Don't worry," he said and started to slowly swing your arm with is. "Do you want to go to the Garden first?"

Your eyes light up. "Okay!" you agreed eagerly. You missed the place for two reasons, one because it was one of the most beautiful places you've been to, and two because of a special reason.

You remembered the flowers that spelt out words and formed shapes, and when you asked L.Joe what the english quote was. You perfectly knew what it meant, I mean, who at this age doesn't watch romantic English movies? All you wanted was to hear him say those three words.

The brightest tree in the park was also another case. You didn't go to the tree because the lights captured your attention, but the actual mistletoe. You wanted to know how it felt to stand under one with someone else. Suggesting to go back on Christmas was just out of hope that you would tell him how you felt before then.

And last but not least, the red carnation. Red carnations symbolised love, adoration, and affection. Even though you only knew L.Joe for a few months, that were what you felt for him. You didn't understand why or how, but maybe this was what love was. Red carnations couldn't go unnoticed to a human eye, and for you, L.Joe had always managed to catch your eye in a sea of faces.

You held onto his arm with your other hand and rested your head on his shoulder. You could tell L.Joe was surprised, but you only had one day to be with him, might as well make it worthwhile. You hid the sneaky smile from him and gave an amused chuckle.

L.Joe had expected the day to be full of awkwardness, and with him struggling to express his feelings to you. But as soon as he awoke to your face, something just clicked, and all his worries disappeared.

"Imagine if they had children," Chunji suddenly spoke up, "will the child have all four powers? That'll be heaps cool..."

Ricky cleared his throat as if he was going to correct Chunji's words. "Actually hyung, if they were going to have a child, the child would only have their most powerful ability as they can only have two powers. And having two powers is actually quite rare, making L.Joe and _______ two unique people. If the child were to only have one power, it would most likely be L.Joe's power and the child would be a Vampire. It's quite intriguing actually, would you like to know mo-"

"Ricky, please don't start on this again." Chunji pinched the bridge of his nose in slight annoyance.

"Also... If a child had all four powers, they would be quite dangerous if they rebelled..." Ricky added in a mutter.

There was an awkward silence after, until Chunji decided to ask, "should we tag along on their date?"

Ricky beamed, eyes turning into curved lines as he nodded. "We should just watch over them and make sure everything is going just fine."

You and L.Joe walked past the coffee shop that you two stopped by before going to the Garden.

"Want to go in first?" L.Joe asked, pausing.

You looked inside, curious to see if it had changed or not. "Okay, sure."

The bell above the door tinkled gently, making the waiters and waitresses perk up and welcome you into the shop.

The two of you took a seat closest to the window so you could enjoy the view outside. You placed the carnation on the table carefully.

"It got prettier here," you commented, after you ordered your drinks and snacks.

"Maybe because you're here..." L.Joe mumbled shyly. You still heard what he said and blushed.

"Stop..." you gave a giggle. It was obvious to him that you were flattered and that whatever he's doing, he's doing it right.

There was a silence, but not an awkward one. It was a short silence just for you two to appreciate the presence of the other in front of them. It felt like last year, when everything was peaceful and no worries was given.

The silence was broken when the waitress arrived with a big slice of chocolate cake along with a cup of tea and coffee. She quickly turned and left before either of you could thank her.

"Odd..." L.Joe said, raising the mug to his lips with both of his hands cupping it.

You took one of the spoons and dug into the cake, taking a small bite.

What happened next was quite... confusing. L.Joe spat out the coffee onto the table, wiping his mouth and tongue with a napkin. You couldn't help but laugh loudly.

There goes the romantic mood.

"What's wrong?" you managed to ask.

L.Joe wiped the table with another napkin. "I don't know if it's a prank or mistake, but that sure wasn't sugar they put."

"What was it then?" you questioned, taking another bite of the chocolate cake.

"It was heaps of salt..." L.Joe quietly pushed the coffee mug aside, showing great dissatisfaction towards it. He called the waitress back to take it away and fix it.

Without having any suspiciouns, you drank from your tea, only to have the same reaction. You coughed while holding the cup up. "Take this too please..."

The waitress grabbed onto L.Joe's mug first, as her other hand was holding a menu covering her face beside her eyes. She placed it down on the table and picked up your cup, walking back to the kitchen.

"This never happened before..." L.Joe said, the salty taste still in his mouth.

"Maybe it was just a mix-up," you suggested the idea, wiping the wooden table with another napkin.

L.Joe waved the mistake off. "So, how's the cake?" he asked in attempt to get the topic away from the salt in their drinks. He dug his spoon into the cake, only for it to hit something, causing it to crack.

The both of you furrowed your eyebrows in curiosity and confusion. With his fingers, L.Joe took out half an egg shell from the cake.

"Okay now... That can't be a mistake," he sighed.

Even though there was probably someone trying to ruin the date, you still couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh well, a bad start doesn't mean a bad ending," you stated, trying to light up the mood.
