“Yong Hwa-ya, please forgive Joo Hyun. She’s never been in a relationship before, therefore she doesn’t know how to handle things when it comes to matters of the heart. She’s very vulnerable and insecure in that sense” Hyo Yeon tried to explain gently. “I wish I could believe you Hyo Yeon but she seemed to know what she was doing when she said all those hurtful words to me” Yong Hwa replied, sighing. He wished the earth would open up and swallow him there and then.

“Yong Hwa-ya, you don’t understand girls. We hide our pain behind our anger. Sometimes, we girls say things opposite of what we really feel” Hyo Yeon said. “What kind of stupid logic is that? Why don’t girls just say what you all really mean?” Yong Hwa scoffed, not believing a single word Hyo Yeon said. “I know it’s stupid and silly and illogical, but all girls do it. As for why, well, I guess partly it’s because of pride, and partly because we don’t want guys to take advantage of us if they know how much they mean to us” Hyo Yeon explained.

“Many girls get played, therefore we learn to protect ourselves, by not really saying what we really feel. Especially when we feel that the guy is already taking us for granted or when we don’t trust them” Hyo Yeon added. “Are you saying Joo Hyun doesn’t trust me?” Yong Hwa asked defiantly. “I’m saying, she has found reasons to doubt you” Hyo Yeon said honestly. “I don’t understand. What did I do for her to doubt me?” Yong Hwa asked, puzzled by this news.

Hyo Yeon told Yong Hwa everything that Seo Hyun told her just before Yong Hwa came to their room. About her feeling that she’s no longer important to him and that she was worried he’d be attracted to Shin Hye and that it seems as if he changed his mind about dating her since he hadn’t asked Lee Soo Man sajangnim for his permission. And also the events from earlier in the evening where he dropped her hand so fast after the performance and spoke to her formally.

Yong Hwa’s mouth hung open as he heard Seo Hyun’s point of view from Hyo Yeon. “Ahhhh….” Yong Hwa groaned while burying his head in his hands. “Why didn’t she just speak to me about her concerns before this?? We wouldn’t be having this problem today if she had just brought it up!” Yong Hwa cried, exasperated.

Yong Hwa stood up with a determined look on his face. “I need to find her” he proclaimed. “Let me call Tae Yeon unnie, they went after Joo Hyun when we saw her exiting the room” Hyo Yeon explained.
