Chapter 49: We're Moving

So this is what it feels like to have someone love you back?

It was only in my imagination where I pictured a scene of Lu Han and I ; with our hands attatched from one another, our fingers intertwined, and seeing the heavenly smile pasted on Lu Han's face.

Even from that unrealistic scenery, I was already in cloud nine.

As Fate had converted that mental picture in reality, Obviously, extreme blissfulness drowned me close to my death. I felt like I was soaring, my heart was beating so fast that it almost seemed abnormal.

It is probably the most precious feeling I've ever felt.

"But you're the most beautiful person I've ever seen in my whole life" he said as he kissed my head.

I looked up to him despite of how sloppy I looked. He caressed my wet cheeks and gently wiped all the tear drops on my face.

It was annoying that I only responded with my tears and hiccups, and yet he still kept up with me.

"C'mon now! stop crying" he chuckled.

I hiccuped "W-well stop being so charming!" I shouted.

He loosened his hands from my face and he captured my trembling hands kindly. My palms always turn damp whenever I'm tense, but he didn't let go even though I was forming a pond of sweat between our palms. 

We walked home together, holding hands. Holding his hand surprisingly helped me warm up from the winter cold. It was like having a built in heater!

As we reached home, I was terrified of letting his hand go. I didn't want to wake up the next day with all of this gone from me.

When he bid his goodbye, I refused to let go of his hand. However, Lu Han, himself, didn't struggle to release his hands from mine. Instead, he asked whether, I didn't want him to go. I didn't respond but he still stayed with me.

We walked back to school to waste more time and we didn't speak to each other, as usual. Our hands were in our pockets but my eyes was glued to his hands. I really wanted to hold it. 

"Sorry for not being so... you know.. talkative, most of the time" I said while we walked.

"Then just talk" he smiled.

I timidly shrugged "I don't really know what to talk about?"

He looked around and thought about something for a moment.

"Okay" he finally said. "Tell me, how you started liking me"

My eyes rounded and I was blushing murderously. "Well, as you know, you were quite popular among girls, and so it was just a coincidence that I, too had a crush on the school's prince"

He raised an eyebrow and he chuckled "The school's prince? Really"

I nodded "mhm. But that was only when I was just infatuated with" I pointed at his face "your looks"

"So this is all infatuation?" 

I smiled "I guess it all changed when our fake relationship formed. I saw different sides of you and fell deeper and deeper in love. So, if you're wondering why I like you, I can't answer that because.. I just do and I just want to be with you. " 

He smiled and he held my hand again

"What about you?" I asked. 

"Well, I don't really have any particular reason also" he shrugged shyly. 

After that, we began to converse comfortably, in a short while, I was just suddenly laughing with him. We talked about our childhood, the places where we want to go and movies we liked. 

We were so different from one another, but somehow Lu Han appreciated it.

He wasn't opposed to anything I liked, In fact, he was very interested. It was really amazing how you can just learn new things about a person from a short span of time.

I realized how normal it is to just talk to him and I've also realized how I became more comfortable just being with him. 

A few moments later, we decided to head home because the sun was setting and it was becoming colder.

Before going inside our houses, he asked for my phone and I gave it to him.

He gave his phone to me too and I punched in my number to his contact list while Lu Han saved his number on mine as well.

He told me to call him later that night. 

He escorted me to our front gate and we parted with a wave. He stood there and waited until I got inside. 

As I headed towards the living room, I saw my parents  by the window.

I kissed their cheeks and they were surprised by it. It was weird seing them standing by the window, almost as if they were waiting for me to arrive. 

"You seem happy" my mother chuckled.  

I needed to tell her about what happened but I was suddenly stopped by her change in expression.

"What's wrong, Umma?" I looked at my Dad and it was so easy to tell that he was forcing a painful smile.

She sighed and asked me to sit down first. "You're Appa, got promoted today" 

"That's great! but.. why do you look disappointed?" 

My mother's face was so easy to read, Right away, I knew there was bad news. However, I gave her the chance to speak. 

"We might move to Thailand"

I guess, Fate had decided to play with the situation again. I was too happy earlier, and I didn't expect myself to become so upset at this news. Just when, I was finally with Lu Han. 

"Are you serious?" I raised my voice. 

My Father slowly nodded and lit up "But, You're going to have a lot of fun there, hun! You're gonna go to a boarding school and.."

"Umma.." I stopped him "When are we exactly moving" 

"probably next month or the month after" My appa confessed. 

Oh great.

That night, I just stayed inside my room, I didn't even eat  with my parents for dinner, I was just so angry. I am fully aware that it wasn't their fault, they didn't even know anything about my situation.

But it's somehow unfair.

Why now?

why does it have to happen as soon as I finally found someone who I wanted to be with? 

Maybe, that's why I didn't want to let go of Lu Han's hand because, my instinct signals that there is something that's going to happen. I'm only going to be with Lu Han for at least a month and I'm probably not going to get the chance to do the things I want to do with him as a couple. 

I picked up my phone inside my bag and looked through my contact list to find Lu Han's number. 

By the time, I found it, I was suddenly afraid of calling him. I didn't know whether I should tell him about it or not. 

But suddenly, my phone started ringing, and it was Lu Han. 

"Hello.." I answered.

"Hey" he laughed through the line "I know you were supposed to call me but I was just too eager to talk to you"
