Obvious To The Oblivious

Winrina = Jiminjeong

"Oops, I'm sorry, did I accidentally bump you too hard, baby?"

Scoffs and small laughters could be heard from Yoo Jimin's clique. Jimin smirked and crossed her arms, enjoying the view of Kim Minjeong hissing on the floor, rubbing her while picking up her two books.

She was chatting with her friends beside her locker when one of them told her that Minjeong is coming, so she got excited and turned around quickly, only to bump her shoulder a little too hard on Minjeong.

"Yes, Yoo, if it's not that obvious already." Minjeong answered with sarcasm causing Jimin's friends to laugh more as they enjoy it when Minjeong is being snarky at Jimin since no one else dares to do that to her.

"And I'm really sorry. Come on, let me help you up." Jimin said.

Jimin shrugged her shoulders and bent down a little to offer a hand, but Minjeong only slapped her hand away before standing up on her own. She then walked away, ignoring Jimin and her friends who were whistling playfully.

"Damn, Kim really hate you huh." Said Jimin's best friend, Aeri.

"No, she doesn't." Jimin chuckled.

"You just can't accept the fact that she dislikes you." Ryujin said this time.

"Nah uh. I know it for sure, she doesn't hate me." Jimin winked.

...

Minjeong grumbled as she entered her class, slamming her books down on her desk causing her best friend who were playing phone beside her, jumped in her seat. Minjeong slumped herself down on her chair and puffed her cheeks in annoyance.

"Let me guess, is it Yoo's doing again?"

"Ugh, I can't believe her, Ning. She really can't leave me alone!"

Ning laughed and shook her head.

"I told you to just ask her out on a date, I am sure she will stop bothering you after that."

"Are you crazy? Me? Ask her out? Never!" Minjeong crossed her arms, eyes glaring at the white board in front.

"I would still like to think that she is actually into you. She never bothers anyone else, but you. And she does it- uh, kind of... in a sweet way?"

Minjeong let out an offended gasp as she looked at Ning with wide eyes.

"What?"

"You called that sweet? Wake up, Ning."

"Well, I think she's just trying to flirt with you."

"Pft, well, she should learn how to flirt properly then."

"Maybe it's because she doesn't know how to and-"

"Hush! I don't want to hear a word from you now."

Ning raised her shoulders once then looked away, to continue playing with her phone.

Minjeong closed her eyes, trying to breath in and breath out, muttering something to herself to make her calm down from her anger just now. By the time that she opened her eyes, she groaned seeing Yoo Jimin entered from the front door.

"Right, she's in this math class." Minjeong hissed.

Jimin walked in with her poker face, glaring at a student who tried to hit on her. She walked to the very back, her face lightened up once she saw Minjeong has already looked at her, though she was actually glaring at her.

"Hi, baby." Jimin winked, and Minjeong let out an annoyed grunt before looking away which made Jimin chuckled.

"Why didn't you wait for me?" Jimin asked once she's behind Minjeong's chair. She put her hand at the Minjeong's back rest, so Minjeong turned around to glare at her again.

"Hands off of my chair." Minjeong growled.

"Cute. Alright, hands off. There." Jimin smiled and raised her both hands. Minjeong then looked to the front again, and Jimin decided to sit down on her seat which is just right behind Minjeong. She hummed softly as she put her chin on her palm, watching Minjeong's back view like she always does.

Ning glanced at Jimin and hid her smile when she clearly see that Jimin got her eyes on Minjeong, like usual. So obvious.

.....

Jimin was just reading a book outside at the back of the university, at the small park alone, sitting at one of the picnic benches for students to chill out when Minjeong suddenly appeared and slammed her palm on the table and glaring down at Jimin.

Jimin tilted her head, looking at her in confusion, but amused seeing her staring at her in fury this close.

"Hm, to what do I owe your presence here now, baby?" Jimin asked, smirking slightly to annoy her as usual.

Minjeong, like she always does, ignored the endearment that she has come to get used already since Jimin have always been calling her by that name to .

"You tell your best friend, to stop playing with my best friend's heart. If she doesn't like her, then by all means, please leave Ning alone."

"What?"

"I'm done watching my best friend cried over that Uchinaga. Tell her to make it clear if she doesn't like Ning. Don't give my best friend a stupid mixed signal!" Minjeong told her in frustration.

"Aeri? Well, I can knock some sense into her head. Sure, okay." Jimin nodded.

"But- what about you then?" Jimin suddenly asked and pulled a startled Minjeong onto her lap.

"Wha-" Minjeong gasped and tried to get off Jimin, but Jimin has already circled her arm around her and held her tight.

"You shouldn't give me a mixed signal too, baby." Jimin said.

"I didn't!"

"Uh huh. I'm confident that you like me, but why are you pretending that you hate me?"

"Not my fault that your confidence makes you believe that I like you." Minjeong then pinched Jimin's arms, causing her to finally let her go.

Jimin laughed, she stood up as well and held Minjeong's shoulders.

"You don't have a boyfriend now, do you?" Jimin asked.

"And why should I tell you if I do have one?" Minjeong glared.

"Hm, so you don't. What about a girlfriend?"

"I don't need to answer you. Now, make sure you tell your best friend or I'll be the one to punch her in the face if ever I see Ning cry over her again." Minjeong warned, pointing her cute forefinger at Jimin with a frown on her face.

"And why should I care?" Jimin asked, intending to piss her off.

"Because I will punch the both of you if you don't stop your best friend from torturing my best friend's heart." Minjeong smiled for the first time at Jimin. Even though it was a fake one, but Jimin loves to see it.

"And what if I would love to receive your small and cute punch?" Jimin asked, smirking when Minjeong clicked her tongue.

"Ha. Small and cute punch you say."

"Uh huh."

Jimin's smirk was gone as soon as Minjeong's fist came in contact with her stomach. Jimin groaned and looked at Minjeong in disbelief. Minjeong literally jabbed in her stomach.

"Tell your best friend, okay?" Minjeong patted Jimin's shoulder before walking away.

"Ugh. God, I love her." Jimin chuckled but groaned again when she pressed her palm on her stomach.

.....

"It's seriously annoying to see you stealing glances and smiling like an idiot." Jimin looked at Aeri with her disgusted face. Aeri rolled her eyes after waving at Ning who just walked by.

"Don't you feel glad that I'm stopping Minjeong from throwing punches on you again?"

"Well, in case you forgot, she promised to punch you as well."

"Right, mind your own business and pay attention to your baby instead of being a busybody about me and Ning."

"I am not! You are just in front of me and we were talking, when you suddenly smiling oh so shy at Ning. Like, are you even my best friend? Ew, Aeri, don't smile like that in front of me again."

Aeri sighed hearing Jimin was obviously making fun of her. She glared at Jimin who was grinning cheekily at her.

"I hate you." Aeri deadpanned and Jimin just laughed out loud.

"You don't. Don't be like Minjeong please, it's not good to be a liar." Jimin said.

"Whatever, so, are you really going to Somi's party with her?" Aeri asked.

"Mhm, I'll make sure to be there with Minjeong as my plus one. You will ask Ning, right? I don't want Minjeong to kill us both at the party."

"Oh, so now you're scared of her?"

"Not scared, but I'll die for her. If she wants to kill me that bad, then I shall surrender myself to her."

"Did you really just said that? Go away, you're not my best friend." Aeri pushed Jimin who just continued laughing.

.....

"Here comes the sweetest Kim." Jimin winked when she saw Minjeong walking past her. She decided to leave her friends to follow Minjeong to her locker and pulled out one book in Minjeong's arm when she opened her locker.

"Yoo Jimin."

"What book is this?" Jimin flipped open the book and was nodding her head as she pretended to be reading it.

"Give it back." Minjeong sighed.

"Can I borrow this one?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I said no."

"But-"

"Give her book back, Jimin."

Jimin got cut off when Chanyeol, one of the basketball club's members interrupted. He pulled out his arm to make some space between Minjeong and Jimin, causing Jimin to step back a little.

"And what are you doing here, Park Chanyeol?" Jimin asked, glancing at the confused Minjeong before looking back at him.

"Stop bothering Minjeong, and give it back." He said, asking for the book from Jimin.

"Oh, are you trying to protect her or something?" Jimin asked while chuckling.

"Yes."

"Hm. She can handle me just fine. She doesn't need you."

"I know that, but I'm done letting you bother her."

"You got a problem with that?"

"Yes."

"Huh. Who are you? Mind your own business please."

"I am her boyfriend."

Jimin raised her eyebrows at his statement. She then looked at Minjeong who were looking as shocked too, and instantly knew that Chanyeol was lying.

"Are you now?" Jimin asked, turning serious now.

"Yes." Chanyeol said firmly.

"Well, that's weird."

"It's not weird. We're together."

Jimin let out a low chuckle and shook her head. Her friends already came closer, just in case if Jimin were to lose her mind. They know how serious Jimin is about Minjeong.

"It is weird, Chanyeol. Because, as far as I know, Minjeong is single."

"That's because we just got together last week." Chanyeol lied again.

"Is it?"

Jimin tilted her head and looked at Minjeong's confused face.

"Did Minjeong perhaps forgot that she has a boyfriend? Baby, you haven't even given me an answer yet if you could be my date for Somi's party. Oh! I remembered you said you'll think about it, right?" Jimin smiled when Minjeong just blinked her eyes.

Yes, Jimin cornered her two days ago to ask her to be her date. Minjeong rejected her at first, but she kept insisting and promised to make sure Aeri will go with Ning if she will say yes to her, that's why Minjeong ended up telling her that she will think about it.

"Now now, she wouldn't say she would think about it if she got a boyfriend already, right? I am sure that Minjeong here is not someone who would cheat on her partner."

Jimin scoffed and smirked when Chanyeol suddenly became speechless now. Jimin chuckled and stepped forward, she pushed Chanyeol aside before finally wrapping her arm around Minjeong.

"She is not yours. Keep this in your mind, okay?" Jimin glared coldly at him.

"Tell him, baby. We don't want him to spread fake news." Jimin said softly at Minjeong.

"Chanyeol, I would appreciate it if you don't lie about such thing about me. You are never my boyfriend." Minjeong said, frowning at him. Jimin bit her bottom lip as she tried to stop herself from smiling so wide when Minjeong really listened to her.

"I'm- sorry..." Chanyeol bowed his head.

"Just don't do that again." Minjeong told him.

"Yes, but about-"

"No, my answer is no."

"Oh..." Chanyeol looked dejected, but he nodded his head before finally leaving them alone.

"What's no? What's that?" Jimin asked.

Minjeong took her book from Jimin back and put it in her locker, then walked out of the hallways.

"Did he ask you out?" Jimin asked, still following Minjeong.

"He did, right?" Jimin asked again.

"Go home, Jimin. It's time to go home."

"I am home now, with you." Jimin said sweetly.

Minjeong sighed and stopped to look at Jimin.

"I heard from Ning that Aeri have asked her to be her date."

Jimin's face brightened and nodded.

"I keep my words." Jimin said.

"Just one date for Somi's party, and then you'll leave me alone."

"How about this? You be my date for Somi's party, and I'll show you that I can be a really good company."

"Are you being serious right now?" Minjeong raised her eyebrows.

"I've always been." Jimin winked.

"That's kinda hard to believe." Minjeong crossed her arms.

Jimin laughed and nodded her head.

"I am the dance club captain, the popular heartthrob in this university, but you've never paid attention to me at all." Jimin walked closer and bent down to stare right into Minjeong's eyes.

"So, forgive me if I decided to bother you instead to get your precious attention, baby."

Jimin smirked and tilted her head, never plan to look away and daring Minjeong more when Minjeong stares back at her with her sharp eyes.

"Why do you love to stare into my eyes?" Minjeong suddenly eyes and that caught Jimin off guard.

"They're beautiful." Jimin said honestly, standing up straight and still staring at Minjeong.

"You're annoying."

"I know." Jimin chuckled.

"And I don't like that you're sometimes such a bully." Minjeong before she pulled Jimin by the collar of her shirt, making Jimin to stumble and almost crashed her body into Minjeong.

"Bully? When did I ever?" Jimin asked, frowning after she balanced herself, not even bothered by the tight grip on her collar. She enjoys it anyway, being close to Minjeong.

"You always does!" Minjeong unconsciously whined and glared at Jimin.

Jimin laughed and wrapped her hands around Minjeong's waist.

"And I remembered I always apologise to you by the end of the day. Forgive me if I use weird ways to get your attention." Jimin said, pouting a little to earn Minjeong's forgiveness.

"And you always do this." Minjeong sighed.

"Hm? Do what?"

"That! You're not cute you know."

Jimin giggled and dropped her head on Minjeong's shoulder.

"Gosh, baby." Jimin then looked up again and shook her head.

Minjeong crossed her arms and turned to glare at the students who were mumbling while looking at them when they were walking past them. Jimin chuckled and gestured the students to walk fast.

"You're cute when you're angry, though I wouldn't like you to get angry with me so often." Jimin said.

"Aren't you too late already for that?"

"Right. I promise I'll behave. I already got your attention anyway." Jimin winked at her.

"Why do I have to deal with such an annoying person like you?" Minjeong muttered, but Jimin still heard her.

She turned around again to leave, Jimin walked by her side.

"If I'm not being this annoying, you wouldn't pay attention to me. So, be thankful."

"Excuse me? Why should I be thankful for that??"

"You got yourself a Yoo Jimin, wanting your attention." Jimin said proudly and Minjeong squinted her eyes at her.

"Ugh."

"Stop being so annoyed with me. Come, I'll send you home." Jimin offered once they're out of the university's gate.

"Just don't talk to me anymore."

"I got it, ma'am."

That's another secret that no one knows, Jimin would always follow her and walk her home, since her apartment was not far from their university. Jimin didn't bother her when it was time to walk her home, she knows her limit and she observed that Minjeong loves to have her peaceful walk. Jimin would enjoy watching Minjeong's calm face whenever she walks her home.

.....

Jimin parked her car outside the entrance of Minjeong's apartment as she waits for her. Jimin couldn't stop smiling to herself when Minjeong finally agreed to be her date for Somi's party.

"Did you wait for long?"

Jimin looked up and her eyes brightened up seeing Minjeong looking effortlessly beautiful in her black dress.

"No, not at all." Jimin smiled and reached out her hand to pull Minjeong closer.

"Mm, you're beautiful." Jimin whispered and gave a soft kiss on Minjeong's knuckles.

"Thank you. You-" Minjeong paused and looked at Jimin from head to toe. Jimin raised her eyebrows, waiting.

"Hm. Not bad." Minjeong shrugged her shoulders.

Jimin chuckled, she knows that Minjeong just refused to give her a direct and honest compliment, but she's okay with that.

During the car ride, they both just listened to Jimin's playlist silently. Jimin wouldn't want to drain Minjeong's mood before they reach the party, and she promised to behave too. This is her only chance to finally win Minjeong's heart properly, and she shall make it worth it.

...

"Here we are. Let me hold you, so you don't get lost."

"Mm."

Jimin wrapped her arm protectively around Minjeong's waist and pulled her closer as they entered Somi's mansion that has already been filled with many students. Minjeong frowned a little as loud music filled the place and people's loud cheers were all she heard.

"Let's go to the back." Jimin said yelled a little so Minjeong could hear her through the loud noises.

They both walked further in until Jimin opened a sliding door which gave them an access to another part of the living room.

"Yuna, where's Aeri and the others?" Jimin asked when she saw Yuna was inside alone, lying down on one couch.

"She's getting some drinks and snacks, they'll be back soon." Yuna answered.

"Oh, hi Minjeong!" Yuna waved and smiled at her.

"Hi." Minjeong gave a tiny smile.

"Okay, do you want to wait here first? I'm going to get us something to drink." Jimin said softly and rubbed Minjeong's waist. Minjeong were surprised with this new side of Jimin that she witnessed, but she kept quiet.

"Uh, okay."

"Great. Yuna, please look after her. I'll be back." Jimin told Yuna and Yuna just winked as she gave her a thumbs up.

"Stay here and don't go anywhere okay." Jimin told Minjeong before she left the room.

"So, Jimin's plus one huh." Yuna grinned and Minjeong only hummed as she sat down on another couch.

"Did you know that you both look good together?" Yuna asked.

"Huh? Really?" Minjeong asked in surprised.

"Duh. Jimin's beautiful, you are too. She smiles often when you're around, which is a good sight for us as her friends since she usually loves to keep her cold face."

"Oh."

"Though I have to admit that she's a fool when it comes to trying to get your attention, but oh well, if it works for her, then yeah." Yuna chuckled and Minjeong only shrugged off her shoulders.

"I don't understand why she's obsessed with getting my attention." Minjeong said.

Yuna blinked her eyes many times before face palming herself.

"Seriously?" Yuna asked.

"What?"

Yuna gasped and looked at Minjeong in disbelief.

"I thought Jimin make it clear?"

"Of her wanting my attention? Yes. She told me about it, which I still don't know why she wants my attention." Minjeong said, pouting as she crossed her arms.

"Why can't she just go find someone else to bother?" Minjeong asked.

Yuna groaned and shakes her head.

"Now I understand why Jimin said you're so clueless sometimes."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing, just nothing." Yuna chuckled. She would love to answer her, but it's not her place to tell.

When Jimin was back with her friends, Yuna then helped them out to put the snacks and drinks neatly on top of the coffee table. Minjeong who was looking bored before, now seemed happy as soon as she saw Ning came in with Aeri.

"Ningie!" Minjeong called for her and Ning immediately went towards her.

"You came!"

"Yeah, had to." Minjeong pouted and Ning just giggled at her.

"Did you come with Aeri?" Minjeong asked.

"Yeah, she- um, she has already asked me out officially, we're together." Ning whispered while blushing.

"Woah, for real??" Minjeong's eyes wide opened.

"Yes!" Ning giggled again.

"Oh my god, I'm happy for you!!" Minjeong hugged her.

"Ladies, would you want to join the others outside and dance?" Jimin asked.

Ning quickly got up to cling her arm on Aeri's arm as Aeri gestured her to follow her going out again. Ryujin, Yeji, Yuna and Somi were already being so loud and asked everyone to show their best dance moves before coming back inside to finally chill together later.

"Hey, let's go." Jimin offered her hand, which Minjeong took naturally, and it makes Jimin smiled.

"Do we really need to dance?" Minjeong asked.

"Not really, but we're here to have fun. Come on, it won't be long, I promise."

"Just for a few minutes." Minjeong said firmly.

"Got it." Jimin winked then pulled her outside to follow their friends.

Minjeong scoffed in disbelief when she saw Ning was already dancing sensually with Aeri. She glanced at Ryujin and Yuna who were dancing prettily with each other while Yeji and Somi continued to hype them up.

"Don't you want to dance with them?" Minjeong asked Jimin who were standing behind her.

"What about you?"

"I'll be here near Yeji and Somi."

"Okay."

Minjeong bopped her head as she swayed her body lightly while standing closer to Yeji, just smiling as she watched them hyping their friends more. Then Somi suddenly went towards Jimin once Jimin joined the Ryujin and Yuna to dance. Minjeong was surprised to see how Jimin's body moves so naturally and skillfully, blending in with the beats and killed every move she did.

"Our captain dances so well, right?"

Minjeong glanced at Yeji, nodding her head before looking back at Jimin.

"Don't you find her attractive?" Yeji asked.

"Huh?"

"Jimin, do you think she's attractive?"

Minjeong blinked her eyes. She has never thought of that about Jimin. Like what Jimin said, she has never really paid attention properly to her. So, instead of answering Yeji, she turned back to Jimin and watched her dance. It would be a lie to say that Jimin is ugly, she is far from being ugly. Jimin is clearly the most beautiful woman in their university.

However, does that mean that she finds her attractive?

"Baby? What got you thinking so deeply there?"

Minjeong looked up at Jimin and didn't say anything. Jimin frowned seeing how she looked so lost.

"Okay, we're going back in the room. Let's go." Jimin said, worried if Minjeong wouldn't feel comfortable to be there for so long since it was very loud.

Minjeong just let Jimin pulled her back inside the private living room.

"Would you want some drinks?"

"Yeah."

Minjeong slumped down on the couch and rest her head on the backrest of the couch as she closed her eyes. Jimin smiled seeing Minjeong's calm face now that they were away from the crowds and noises.

"You really don't like to party huh."

Minjeong opened her eyes and shakes her head, taking the soda that Jimin gave her.

"Thank you." Minjeong mumbled before sipping on her drinks.

Jimin hummed as she sips her drinks as well, eyes fixed on Minjeong. Her smile never disappears from her face as she continues to stare at Minjeong.

"Yuna told me that she talked to you earlier."

"Hmm."

"You know, I've been trying to get your attention and I've been calling you baby too."

Minjeong looked up at Jimin without saying anything, waiting for her to continue.

"Yet, you still don't understand why I'm doing all that?" Jimin asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Well, we weren't friends and you suddenly keep appearing and bothering me." Minjeong replied.

"Like I said, I didn't mean to bother you. I just want your attention."

"And you got it already and I noticed you now. So, will you stop bothering me after this?"

Jimin scoffed and put down her drinks. She sighed and sits beside Minjeong.

"I did all that for one reason, and you still couldn't get the hint?"

"What hint?"

"That I like you."

Minjeong chuckled and slapped Jimin's arm. Jimin raised an eyebrow at her.

"Very funny, Yoo Jimin." Minjeong slides her fingers through her hair and still chuckling.

"Was it really hard to believe?" Jimin asked.

"What?"

"I like you, Minjeong."

Minjeong looked at Jimin's serious face.

"Wait, since when?"

"Since- since when? Oh god." Jimin widened her eyes.

"I've been- yah! I called you baby many times!" Jimin exclaimed.

"Uh, yes, you did it to provoke me."

"I- what?!"

"Well, I thought you know that I'm a shy person and by calling me with that kind of endearment will make me- well, feeling embarrassed. Especially when you did it in front of other people. So I thought like... you just wanted to annoy me and embarrass me."

"How- sigh, how is that even- oh my god. You thought I was trying to provoke you, really now?"

"What? You were being annoying and all."

Jimin ruffled her hair frustratedly.

"No wonder you called me a bully." Jimin mumbled.

"Ah. You're frustrating." Jimin glared at her and Minjeong just shrugged her shoulders.

"Not my fault that your confidence makes you think that I would know of your intention."

"Minjeong, no one calls anyone else baby if they don't like them."

"A few does! To provoke their enemies or when they are being sarcastic!"

"Well, I wasn't like that! I called you baby because I like you."

"O-Okay, okay. You don't have to- keep saying it." Minjeong stuttered and cleared . , Ning was right? Jimin likes me?

"Do I make myself clear now?" Jimin asked, squinting her eyes at her.

"Y-Yeah." Minjeong closed her eyes and turned her head away.

Jimin tilted her head and tried to peek at her face, she noticed that Minjeong's cheeks turned red now.

"Wait, are you blushing?" Jimin asked, feeling amused.

"Shut up."

Jimin blinked her eyes in shocked. After everything she had done to be obvious to the younger about her interest in her, only now that she finally get this kind of reaction from Minjeong.

"You're blushing." Jimin said.

"Stop being annoying." Minjeong crossed her arms.

Jimin chuckled and scooted closer, she slides her arm behind Minjeong and hugged her waist to pull her closely.

"Now that you know my real intention, so, can I court you, baby?" Jimin's smile widened seeing how Minjeong's cheeks turned redder.

"Baby?" Jimin squeezed her waist and smirked when Minjeong puffed her cheeks in annoyance.

"Kay." It was a small and shy whisper, but Jimin heard it loud and clear.

"You're so cute." Jimin laughed and Minjeong struggled to push her away.

"Stop pushing me, you agreed to let me court you. I'm going to make you fall for me." Jimin said, pinching Minjeong's cheek when the younger glared at her.

Jimin kept laughing as she . She didn't expect Minjeong to be this oblivious. It was crazy and chaotic, when she tried to earn her attention. However, Jimin does not regret anything. She's being herself and Minjeong sees her for who she really is, that's really important. Even though, there was a little misunderstanding from Minjeong, but now she knows.
