Minjeong crossed her arms and were glaring at Ning who was eating happily in front of her. She was just done telling Minjeong everything that she needs to know about who she really is and what her connection with Karina.

"So, basically, she saved you and you owed her." Minjeong said, with her flat tone.

"Yeah!" Ning grinned at her and continued eating.

"And her best friend, Giselle, is your girlfriend?"

"You are correct! Aeri has been the hottest girlfriend ever. I really love her, so please don't expose her. She loves her fashion business so much." Ning told her and blinked cutely.

Minjeong sighed and nodded her head. All of the information was too much for her, but it's real. She just didn't expect her best friend, her oh so innocent best friend would have other side that she didn't know.

"Ning."

"Hm?"

"One question though."

"Yeah, what is it?"

"Are you happy?"

Ning paused and raised her head to look at Minjeong's serious face. Before this conversation, Karina talked to her privately to warn her not to blame everything on Ning and shared briefly about her past.

"She had gone through a lot. I hope you will consider her situation as well." Karina told her.

"How bad was it?"

"What?"

"Her condition, when you found her."

Karina blinked before she sighed.

"You wouldn't recognise that it was her, she was too skinny and unhealthy. She was dying at that time, but her eyes flickered with hope. A hope to desperately stay alive. So, I did what I should do. I saved her."

"Okay..."

Karina tilted her head and stepped closer.

"Believe me, she is still your best friend. She never fakes her intention to be a good friend for you."

Minjeong cleared and nodded her head.

"Come to me after you talk to her."

"O-Okay."

Karina hummed and smirked seeing Minjeong was still being a little shy around her.

"Life has been bearable, if that was what you were asking." Ning answered.

Minjeong finally smiled at her best friend and Ning's eyes brightened.

"Does that mean that I'm forgiven?" Ning asked.

"Just promise me that you'll continue living a happy life, then you'll be forgiven."

"I love you!" Ning pouted and reached out to hold Minjeong's hand.

"You're annoying, but I don't have a choice to love you back."

"Yah!" Ning slapped her hand and Minjeong laughed at her.

"Be nice to me, betrayer." Minjeong hissed.

"Stop calling me that! It was necessary, okay. I planned to tell you the truth when it's time."

"Fine. You can enjoy your food now. I'll go."

"Huh? Aren't you going to eat with me?"

"I have something else to settle."

Ning smirked and wiggled her eyebrows.

"What?"

"You mean, you can't wait to meet Karina?" Ning giggled when Minjeong blushed.

"Whatever." And Ning laughed while Minjeong ignored her teasing as she left.

"You've made a huge mistake, detective Kim."

Minjeong shrugged and ignored him as she walked past him to get to Karina. Jeno glanced at her over his shoulder and gritted his teeth. Minjeong is now at Ae Group's headquarter when Karina's office located. Karina was expecting her, so she gets a direct access to come up and see her. She felt giddy to even get such huge benefit since the staffs at the reception and lobby was making a fuss over it earlier.

"You may enter, detective Kim."

Minjeong got startled when she heard Karina's voice from the intercom beside the door as she was about to raise her hand to knock. She took a deep breath before she finally pushed open the door and entered the room.

The first thing that she noticed was Karina's office was huge as hell and it smells good, just like Karina. She glanced at Karina who was sitting behind her black executive desk, hair being tied in a neat bun and she was wearing a white button up shirt with 3 buttons ed from the top. Minjeong felt dry as she finds Karina look extra hot with just a simple attired like that.

"Are you done checking me out?"

"Huh?" Kim Minjeong blushed furiously and looked away, pretended to be looking around to avoid Karina's sharp stares.

"You've got a nice office." Minjeong mumbled.

Karina smirked and shook her head.

"Come here and sit in front of me, detective Kim. I have a lot to talk about."

"Right."

Minjeong then went to sit in the empty chair in front of Karina and straightened her back.

"Just be comfortable, detective Kim. You're safe here." Karina said and crossed her arms.

"O-Oh."

"Here's the thing, all of my gang members will know about your identity, detective Kim. You are Kim Minjeong, a high ranking detective as well as my girlfriend."

Minjeong bit her bottom lip to stop herself from smiling too wide when Karina called her as her girlfriend, but Karina is sharp so she noticed. She was also trying to hold her smile as she needs Minjeong to focus and take every sentences seriously.

"You don't hurt my people, both you and your team. Even if it's only because of your job, okay? That's necessary since you agreed to take every risk in being with me."

"Yes." Minjeong nodded.

"You don't get involve in whatever business we're dealing with, detective Kim. Try as best as you can to get out of our way, since I was told that you still have a case that requires you to track and catch me, correct?"

"I'm- yes, but I'll find another distraction so the organization will focus on something else." Minjeong said.

"Hmm. Okay."

Karina then got up and round her desk to stand beside Minjeong, she leaned against the edge of her desk, with one hand supported her weight on the desk as she leaned down and put her other hand at the backrest of the chair Minjeong was sitting on.

And she leaned down, staring straight into Minjeong's round eyes.

"Now that you've earned my trust, I hope that you will make sure that I won't ever have a reason to doubt you anymore now."

"Yes." Minjeong whispered.

Karina glanced down at Minjeong's lips before looking right at her eyes again.

"So, detective Kim, what do I call you now that you are my lover?"

"A-Ah, that..." Minjeong scratched her cheek shyly.

"M-My name would be fine." She said softly.

"Kim Minjeong? Or just Minjeong?"

"Minjeong... Please." Minjeong replied softly again.

Karina smirked a little and nodded her head.

Knock Knock!

Karina looked at the door and gave permission to anyone outside to enter her office. Johnny entered and informed her that they had somewhere to be in 20 minutes.

"Prepare the car, I'll be down in 10." Karina told him and he nodded firmly before leaving.

"Well, I've got your number and I will send you a text message soon, so you can save my number."

"Okay." Minjeong stood up while Karina prepares to leave. She went to get her black blazer and her mobile phone before she turned to look at Minjeong again.

"See you, Minjeong." Karina said and left.

Minjeong bit her lip and waited until Karina is out of the room. She kicked her feet and punched into the air while closing her eyes.

"Minjeong! She called me Minjeong! No more detective Kim from her. Ah." Minjeong slumped herself on the chair and dropped her head on the desk as she kept hitting the desk in excitement.

"Oh god, I need to breath." Minjeong giggled to herself and finally raised her head to cup her red face.

"Oh, mother, I'm in love with the hottest criminal alive and I don't feel sorry at all, but still, forgive me. I can't help it. Just one chance, it's all I want. I have to make sure Karina won't ever dump me. Yeah. Kim Minjeong, you can do this! You'll make her fall harder." Minjeong told herself with a new determination.

Just then, Minjeong got startled when she heard her phone rang. It was an unknown number, but she answered it nonetheless.

"You're not going to check something through my office, aren't you?"

"Huh? Karina?"

"My employees are already suspicious of our relationship. I mean, not that I mind, but it is too soon to let them know that we're together, don't you think?"

Minjeong pouted. Yeah, gotta work harder to make her fall more for me so she will love me in front of the whole world.

"Minjeong?" Minjeong blushed and felt her heart jump in joy hearing her name coming out of Karina's mouth again.

"Y-Yeah?"

"I can see you, you know."

"What?!"

Minjeong then looked around and noticed there was CCTVs in the room, she widened her eyes then coughed to cover her embarrassment.

"I-I'll be leaving. Uh, see you, Karina." She quickly left and bowed at some staffs she saw outside while going to the elevator.

"Drive safe, Minjeong. Save my number." And she hung up, leaving Minjeong looking at her phone's screen like a fool.
