Karina ignored the agony screams and the sound of hard punches echoes through the basement. She checked her phone for her next schedule before asking her people to finish off the job like usual. 

"Jeno, go back to my mansion. Johnny, bring me to Giselle." Karina said.

Johnny glanced at Jeno who was frowning at Karina's command. Ever since he kept messing up, Karina gave him a less job and would let Johnny drive her around instead of him.

"Yes, boss." Jeno mumbled and bowed, knowing that he had no choice.

Johnny then opened the car's door for Karina and gave an eye signal to one of the men there discreetly, the guy nodded his head curtly.

"So, there will be a fantastic fashion show next month. I've secured some important audiences already." Giselle said in excitement.

Karina hummed as she enjoys her fresh juice, listening to Giselle's next plan for her business. Giselle said she is trying to get a collaboration deal with the famous fashion designer as well, Jessica Jung.

"Trust me, it's going to be splendid! I can't wait to work with her." Giselle sighed dreamily.

"Sure." Karina muttered and put down her glass.

"So, how was your love life with our dear detective?" Giselle asked and smiled teasingly at her.

"Good." 

"Just good? Did you even go out on dates with her?"

"We're busy, she's busy."

"Pfft. I bet she would drop everything for you."

"Maybe she would, but I don't want her to."

"Whyyyy?" Giselle frowned.

"I can't be seen going out often with her, Aeri. It's too risky. I have always been out of the public eyes and keeps a low profile."

"True. Well, you can bring her to our world to date instead. Like, away from the city and all or like, underground or something." Giselle suggested.

"She can't. She's important to the organization, her presence is always needed. She's the highest rank detective, remember?"

"Ugh. Jimin, I think you are just being too careful. Come on, have some fun and relax a little." Giselle told her.

"Not in this kind of life, Aeri. I have enemies everywhere. People are thinking of getting my head everyday." Karina warned her.

"Should we kill everyone then?" Giselle asked in a serious manner which made Karina scoff.

"We can't just kill them all, unless they provoke me first. We don't want another war, Aeri. I mean, it's impossible to avoid, but we will try to prevent it as best as we can."

"Okay, got it. Yunjin said she can't make it, so it'll be just the two of us today."

"Okay."

Karina then stood up and fixed her gloves. Giselle smiled looking at her best friend.

"Let me see if you're still fun." 

"Sure."

Giselle laughed when Karina is nonchalant with her.

"Then, you don't mind that we play all against one, right?"

"Who's one?"

"You, of course."

"I told you, you can never beat me."

"We will!" Giselle glared and Karina shrugged.

"Fine, I can do it alone." Karina said.

"Nice!" Giselle then jumped in joy.

"Everyone! Today, we're going to let out all of our frustration to our hot and demanding and annoying boss. Show her no mercy, okay?!" Giselle yelled and made sure all of the10 members of Karina's gang heard her.

"Don't worry, she won't kill any of you for defeating her." Giselle assured them.

"You're so sure that you're going to defeat me." Karina said.

"Yes, because this time, I won't hesitate." Giselle said proudly.

"Hm. I look forward to it then." Karina smirked and grabbed her paintball gun.

"Oh, bring it on Yoo."

Giselle panted and lay flat on the dirty ground as she took off her helmet and throw her paintball gun.

"Ugh! I hate you, Jimin!"

Karina walked closer and squats down, she grazed her finger on the paint on Giselle's stomach and showed it to her.

"Oh, go away." Giselle grunted, still annoyed how fast all the men got shot by Karina.

She's annoyed that Karina even intentionally delay her defeats, but walking calmly and shooting aimlessly when it was left with only Giselle to defeat Karina.

"I told you, we should just play fair and square, one team against another team." Karina said.

"Yeah, and give your team more chance to win? No. You alone can already defeat us, what more if you get a team?" Giselle glared at her.

"Not my fault that I am just this good." Karina said and smirked when Giselle kept glaring at her.

"This is why I decided to bring detective Kim."

Giselle and Karina turned their head to see Yunjin with Minjeong.

"Oh." Giselle grinned.

"So, Karina. Would you mind playing another round?" Yunjin asked and already shaking her body in excitement.

"Please, I am not tired yet."

Yunjin and Giselle rolled their eyes before they asked the men to prepare for another round.

"Detective Kim, please, win for us. Okay?"

"I um- I'll try." Minjeong smiled timidly.

"Okay!"

Karina shook her head. Yunjin has always been desperate to defeat her in their paintball game.

"It's still all against one, Jimin."

"You know that you guys are being unfair, right?"

"Not if the opponent is you. Nah uh."

Karina sighed and just accepted the challenge without complaint.

The second round, they chose the more difficult level with more muddy area, with many bushes and trees, going further into the jungle.

"You go and find a place to hide first, boss. We will see you soon." Yunjin said and blew her a kiss.

Karina shrugged her shoulders and went into the jungle with nothing to worry about.

"Okay, guys. Our mission is to make sure we get this paint on her body. We need to defeat her at least once in our whole life, okay?" Yunjin put on a serious face as she talked to all of the men while Giselle and Minjeong listened.

"And Minjeong, detective. I believe in you." Yunjin said, nodding her head vigorously.

"Ah, yeah..." Minjeong nodded her head as well.

"Let's go!!"

Karina was thinking if she should just let her friends happy and let them win, or just stick to her true self, being competitive and win the game like usual while waiting for their attack. She decided to let them have some fun and pretended to struggle first. Yet, unknown to them, Karina purposely let them get the upper hand just because they have Minjeong in their team.

Karina's sharp eyes saw two of her men stuck close to Minjeong while looking for her, she clicked her tongue softly before she closed one eye and made a perfect shot for both of them. Minjeong's head quickly turned to her direction and Karina stepped back to hide.

"Two down, now, where are the others?"

Karina then changed direction since Minjeong was alone now, she wanted to shoot those who stick together in a group so she can end the game faster.

"Oh, come on!! Not this fast again!!!"

Karina smirked when Yunjin groaned and whined in frustration, she then scolded the three men with her for not able to shoot Karina when Karina suddenly ambushed them. While running away from the scene, Karina saw the other four men and shot them without hesitation.

"Boss!!" They gasped, couldn't believe that they didn't even get to shoot.

"No mercy, remember?" Karina stared sharply at them before she just slowly walking past them to find the others.

After two minutes, Karina finally found Giselle, and she's making one of her men as her shield. She rolled her eyes at the sight. She decided to let Giselle have her fun in finding her for a while and went to find Minjeong.

When she was about to turn to the right, she immediately comes to a halt when a paintball gun was being directed at her. She tilted her head and hummed in delight. I didn't even hear any noise from her. Impressive.

"Ah, you sure are the greatest detective." Karina whispered.

She smirked and stepped closer when Minjeong did not move. She glanced at Minjeong's finger that was about to shoot, but she quickly grabbed the gun off her hand and pulled her hard by her waist.

"Detective, you should have shot while you have the chance." Karina said, still in a whisper.

"I don't give anyone a second chance at all. If you didn't get to shoot me at the first chance, then I wouldn't let you to have the second chance at all." Karina continued.

Minjeong's eyes looked around when they heard Giselle's voice. Karina ignored that and pulled Minjeong closer before pushing her against the nearby tree. Karina raised her own paintball gun and pressed it against Minjeong's stomach.

"Any last word, detective?" Karina asked, smirking teasingly when Minjeong bit her lip as she blushed at their position.

"You keep staring at me without saying anything, have you lost your voice, hm?" Karina leaned in.

"My brain..."

"Hm?"

"My brain malfunctioned whenever you're this close to me." Minjeong whispered and gulped nervously, trying not to hold Karina and kiss her senseless.

Karina raised her eyebrows at Minjeong's honesty. She stares at her face. Now that she's looking at her properly, Minjeong is really, really pretty. She got the eyes, nose and lips. Adorable lips. Her perfect figure, and Karina realised just how she fits perfectly in her arm. Then, Minjeong can fight. She's a detective. She fights so well, Karina has been watching her. She loves to see her fight. Minjeong looks good when she fight.

"But, you're bold enough to profess your love for me."

"I have to, or I'll be restless. It's a need, to let you know my love for you." 

Karina chuckled. 

"Yeah? Well, Minjeong, do you want to kiss me?" Karina asked, Minjeong widened her eyes and looked at her lips right away.

"C-Can I?"

"Mm." Karina hummed softly as an answer. She wants to see if Minjeong would be brave enough to kiss her first. She wants to see just how long would Minjeong hold herself back.

"I'm afraid, Karina."

"What?"

"I'm afraid if I won't be able to stop."

Karina certainly did not expect that. There, she saw it for the first time. Minjeong's eyes filled with love, passion and... desire. And it does something to her cold heart. Her heart starts to beat beautifully, warmth spread inside her and the dead butterflies now became alive and flies around in her stomach.

So, for the first time in her life, Karina let down her guard. She dropped the gun and wrapped her arms around Minjeong's waist securely, pulling her more against her body. Minjeong circled her arms around Karina's neck and eyes still looking into Karina's dark and sharp eyes.

"Kiss me, Minjeong. Show me just how deep is your love for me." Karina whispered.

"Make me feel it, until I... wouldn't want you to stop too." Karina added.
