"Hello, detective Kim."

Minjeong looked up from the file in her hand and nodded curtly at Mark who was grinning at her.

"I heard your team got praised for your perfect teamwork with the recent case."

"Mmm."

"Detective Kim, please take me in."

"Mark."

"Yes!" Mark quickly stood up straight and saluted at Minjeong.

"I heard you're in good hands. Detective Jang is a good leader."

"I knoooow, but he kept taking boring cases. I wanted some action too, you know." Mark whined.

"For a professional detective, you don't look like one." Minjeong commented and squinted her eyes.

"Ay, don't be too uptight, detective. We, detectives, should have some fun too and be relaxed." Mark winked at her.

"Detective Lee, can I talk to you for a second?"

Both Minjeong and Mark turned to see Soobin crossing his arms.

"See that, he's jealous of me." Mark whispered while Minjeong only scoffed and walked ahead.

Karina counted a minute silently in her mind as she listened to the nonsense the man was blabbering in front of her, she almost yawned at his stupid explanation.

"You won't regret this, I swear!"

"I just asked for a refund, that's all. I don't plan to make any deals with you again."

"B-But- this will be great for both of us!"

Karina rolled her eyes, she has heard enough. She does not think she could wait any longer. However, just when she wanted to say something, she saw a slight movement from him. Really now?

Karina chuckled lowly and was about to raise her finger to give a signal to Johnny who was somewhere on top of another building, getting ready with a sniper, just in case if they need to kill the man. However, a sudden gunshot interrupted her. She frowned and turned her head. There she is, her one and only, detective lover.

"Argh!! Who-"

"You have the right to remain silent and anything you say will be used against you in the court law. You may call your lawyers too, but right now, we caught you, Mr Park."

Karina raised her eyebrows seeing her lover being all serious and cold while she put on the handcuff on the man as he struggled against her. Ning came in as she informed their other teammates to come over, she winked at Karina before putting back her professional face as she helped Minjeong in arresting the drug's smuggler.

"Who the hell are you??!!" Mr Park shouted in anger.

Minjeong and Ning casually showed their badges, before Minjeong gestured Ning to bring him to the car.

"Oh, is that it? You works with the stupid cops now, huh?!" Mr Park spat as he glared at Karina.

"Wait until this gets out to the underworld!" Mr Park shouted again.

"That won't happen, Mr Park." Ning smiled sweetly at him as she grabbed his hair from behind and stabbed a suspicious syringe into his neck.

"Wha- I- What-" He slowly gets drowsy and stopped talking.

"I got you, boss." Ning whispered and winked at Karina which Karina nodded her head proudly.

"See you in the office, bestie." Ning told Minjeong as she knew Minjeong would want to stay for a while and talked to Karina.

Karina then looked at Minjeong and approached her.

"So, care to explain?" Karina asked.

"He's one of the cases that my team got. Been eyeing his movement for a while, saw the opportunity, and yeah, we arrested him." Minjeong answered and checked all the powders on the old table in front of her.

"Ahem. W-What about you?" Minjeong asked timidly as she tried to take some photos of the substances.

"He was a new client. Tried to make a deal with us, but I knew better not to get scammed by such an amateur, so I cancelled the deal." Karina answered.

"You're- buying from him?" Minjeong asked.

Karina looked at her and hummed.

"Yes."

"What for?"

Karina smirked and tapped her point finger on the table as she stares at Minjeong.

"Do you really want to know, Minjeong?"

Minjeong cleared and did not answer. 

"Well, I shall be honest with my lover. We're selling it too, to some important people." Karina told her honestly.

"Not for personal used?" Minjeong asked and this time she looked at Karina.

Karina chuckled and stepped closer, she held the back of Minjeong's neck and putting a pressure by squeezing her a little. Minjeong stayed still and did not look away as she waited for her answer.

"No, Minjeong. I only buy and sell, that's all I did with that thing." Karina raised her eyebrows seeing Minjeong finally let out a relief sigh.

"Okay." 

"What's it to you, if I take it?" Karina can't help, but asked.

"N-Nothing, I just... hope that you won't use or take it."

"Why? After all, I'm a criminal, Minjeong." Karina staring coldly into her eyes, trying to see if there will be doubts from Minjeong's eyes.

"You are, but I care for you and your health." Minjeong replied in all honesty.

"Ha. My health."

"Yes."

Karina then finally let her go and put her hands inside her pocket.

"Well, dear my detective lover. Lucky you, I care about my own health too. I kill people, but I know better not to harm myself." Karina said.

Is it bad that I fall more in love with this hot criminal? Oh, dear mother, then let me be bad.

Minjeong gulped and coughed twice.

"Okay. I'll make sure he won't open his mouth." Minjeong reassured Karina.

"Of course." Karina smiled then took Minjeong's hand and gave a soft kiss for the first time on her knuckles.

"I'm counting on you, Minjeong." Karina winked and Minjeong is a blushing mess, again.

.....

"Hi, Minjeong."

Minjeong was drinking her hot chocolate alone in the cafe when Soobin suddenly sits in front of her.

"Soobin, what are you doing here?"

"Well, like you. I'm getting my favourite drink." Soobin grinned and raised his cup.

"Ning will be here soon, and you're sitting on her seat."

"I got it. I'll just leave once she's here. Please??" Soobin made a cute face which Minjeong just grimaced in return.

"Whatever." Minjeong mumbled, then went back to checking some reports through her phone.

"So, You've dealt with 2 cases so fast. Aren't you amazing? I really look up to you." Soobin said.

"Yeah." Minjeong only replied mindlessly to him, not interested to continue the conversation.

"There will be another dinner this coming Saturday, right? Will you be there?" Soobin asked.

"Not sure." Minjeong answered without looking at him.

Soobin smiled and put his chin on his palms as he stares at Minjeong with heart eyes.

"Come with me, I'll pick you up." Soobin said.

Minjeong glanced at him, uninterested. She looked down at her phone again.

"No, thanks."

"Why? I can accompany you like last time. We both do not really know a lot of business people and are always alone."

"I don't mind being alone."

"Hey, come on." Soobin tried to reach for Minjeong's hand when Minjeong glared at him. Minjeong was about to scold him when her eyes caught a new figure coming inside the cafe, her eyes immediately set on the person. Karina.

Minjeong tilted her head, Karina never once come to this small and cozy cafe. Karina then whispered something to Johnny before heading towards Minjeong. Minjeong only kept looking at her, ignoring Soobin who was trying to get her attention.

"May I sit here?" Karina asked, stopping just right beside Soobin.

"Pardon, Miss, as you can see-"

"Yes. He is about to leave too, you may take his seat." Minjeong cut Soobin off and gestured Soobin to leave.

"What?" Soobin was dumbfounded and confused. 

"I'll update you about the dinner, so leave and stop bothering me now before I change my mind."

Soobin widened his eyes and grinned happily.

"Okay! Text me, yeah? I'll go first." Soobin then got up and let Karina take his seat.

Karina sat down, Minjeong could feel her aura was not good. Karina may look calm, but there's just something about her face that screams that she's unhappy.

"Boss." Johnny put down a cup of drinks before bowing and left to wait outside.

"What's the dinner about?" Karina asked.

"It's... the dinner that The Chois will be held the end of this week." Minjeong told her.

"Ah, that one."

"You're invited?"

"Yes. So, tell me. Are you going to the dinner with him?"

"No. He was asking if I'll be there, so I said I'll update him about it."

"Hmm." Karina then took a sip of her drinks.

"I don't want you to be there."

"Huh?"

"The dinner, do not come." Karina said as she looked at the confused Minjeong.

"Tell him that you won't come." Karina said again.

"Well, yeah. Okay." Minjeong nodded.

"Minjeong." Karina leaned forward and crossed her arms on the table.

"One thing about me, I hate it when someone's paying attention to what's mine. I don't go by the saying of they can look but can't touch. No. They can't look, they can't touch. I kill everyone who dares to even dream to get whatever that's mine, be it my property, my money, my business, my people... And..." Minjeong curled her toes and stares helplessly at Karina who were frowning at her.

"You." Karina whispered.
