Contract 02: A GongLee ProjectThe dark skies of the night are a canvass on which I paint our dreams and imagine us together, now and forever.
Seung Yeon busies herself in the kitchen washing the tea cups they used earlier. Jong Hyun takes this chance to finally talk to her while her parents and siblings are in the living room.
“Are you planning to ignore me all day like this?” he says resting his body on the cabinet near the sink.
“Because you always wants to hide things from me. First, you came here without me knowing. Second, you’re planning to go to Mexico.” she says as calm as possible but not looking at him.
“Why? Do you hate it that I took the courage to finally meet your family? I thought it’s the right thing to do.” He says trying to control his emotions.
“I am not saying that I hate it. In fact I appreciate the effort. It’s just that if you tell me that you want to them we could have prepared better before meeting them.” she says almost raising her voice.
“Why? Because of Woo Bin hyung? Your Appa told me everything.” He says giving her an uncertain look.
“Why are you now putting the blame on me? You know everything about my close connection with Woo Bin oppa, my family and his family since the beginning. Yes, it troubled me a little when I knew that you’re here.” Seung Yeon looks at his eyes defending her feelings.
“Okay, well I guess I was wrong then. After Japan, we were not able to talk much. And it’s been a week of playing hide and seek in the office. I thought spending time with your family will somehow lessen the pain. But I guess you’re not happy to see me here. Better if I go back to Gangnam.” He says heading to the living room to say his goodbye greetings to everyone.
“Why don’t you stay here over the night Jong Hyun-ssi?” Appa offers.
“That’s very kind of you Abeoji but I still have to finish some works in the office tonight.” He says regretfully.
“Eomeoni will still make you misugaru. Wait a little I will pack some if you can’t stay here.” Eomma rushes to the kitchen followed by Appa.
“Look at your daughter. Seems like they had a lovers quarrel.” Appa points at Seung Yeon who is alone outside.
“Aigoo. Kids these days. I bet they will make it up even before he leaves. Trust me.” Eomma assures Appa with a big grin on her face.
Everyone sends him outside near his car except Seung Yeon but no one dares to ask why. They already sense it from the time Seung Yeon came in. Jong Hyun respectfully thanks everybody for the warm welcome and acceptance. He knows how stubborn Seung Yeon is so he is not expecting her to go out and say good bye to him. He doesn’t want to fight with her either. He starts the engine and leaves the house.
“Too late. He already left.” Su Jin says as Seung Yeon rushes outside the gate. She spends more time outside regretting about her mood and behavior earlier when suddenly a car’s headlights flashes through her face. A tall young man steps outside the very familiar luxurious car. With the street light above his head, charismatic Jong Hyun appears. Without a beat she runs as fast as she can and throws herself into a tight hug.
“You’re such a fool! How could you possibly leave me here like this? Huh?!” She says grabbing the shirt at his back.
“Seems like my girl wants to undress me here.” He holds her back and her head, caressing it.
“I thought you really left me. Sorry Oppa. I shouldn’t have acted that way.” She looks at him with tears starting to flow to her reddened cheeks.
“Aigoo. It’s actuall
