Gary was extremely nervous. This was the sector that he was waiting for, since the concert started at 7:00 pm. The “Heart to Heart” interview session.

This is the 4th and last stop of Kim Jong Kook’s China tour, the Beijing stop. After the Shanghai Concert, Gary did go to the backstage with his grandma but he did not have the chance to meet the ‘translator lady’. One of the staffs told him that the lady translator had left earlier. Gary tried to ask for the name of the translator but the Chinese staff could only tell him that he usually address the lady as ‘Miss Song’.

“Song, the surname is Song. It may be Ji Hyo. Ji Hyo’s surname is Song also.” Gary mumbled to himself.

“The translator is a man not a woman.” Gary stared at the stage. The heart to heart interview session had started, but there was no Ji Hyo. The translator is a Korean guy. Gary was so disappointed that he covered his face with his hands. He had flew in from Hong Kong just in time for the concert. He pinned high hopes in meeting Ji Hyo that he even rescheduled his meetings in Hong Kong on the following day.

“Gary Boy, are you OK? Not feeling well? Shall I call the driver in to bring you back to hotel for a rest?” Grandma Kang noticed the dishearten look on Gary’s face.

“Grandma, I am OK.” Gary lied.

“That’s good. You can accompany me to the after party of the concert. Kim Jong Kook Ssi invited me personally.” Grandma Kang beaming away.

Gary wasn’t paying any attention to the rest of the concert. If is not for Grandma Kang, he would have left for the hotel.

“Senior Kang and CEO Kang, please take a seat. Jong Kook Ssi  will be here soon.” Jong Kook’s manager arranged to have Grandma Kang and Gary to sit with Jong Kook at the after party.

“Oh…I see someone. Please enjoy the cocktail and make yourselves comfortable. Please excuse me.” Jong Kook’s manager left Gary’s table as he waved at the direction of the door.

Ji Hyo! Good to see you again!” Jong Kook’s manager greeted and gave Ji Hyo a hug at the entrance to the ballroom.

“Ji Hyo, please take a seat at this table.” Jong Kook’s manager lead Ji Hyo to her table.

“Thank you.” Ji Hyo noticed a grandma was at her table.

“This is Senior Mrs Kang and this is Song Ji Hyo ssi. Mrs Kang is Jong Kook’s oldest fan.” Jong Kook manager introduced.

“Mrs Kang. How are you.” Ji Hyo quickly bowed at the grandma Kang.

“I am good. Young lady, take a seat. No no, this one. My grandson is taking this seat. He went to er…I think the gents or somewhere.” Grandma Kang said.

“I am sorry, senior Kang. I thought it was empty.” Ji Hyo quickly bowed and apologise.

Gary dragged his feet back to the ballroom as the dinner is going to start. As he approached the table, Grandma Kang was already happily taking photos with Jong Kook. A woman who was in a white blouse and long flora skirt was helping grandma Kang to take the photos.

“Young lady, can you move backwards, so that the photo can capture our full body.” Grandma Kang requested.

“Ok Ok” Ji Hyo moved backwards without noticing that someone was behind her.

“Oh…be careful!” Ji Hyo felt her back knocking into someone. She lost her balance. Someone caught her by her waist. Before she knew, she was sitting on the lap of a man, the man has his arms around her.

“I…I…am…sorry.” Ji Hyo blushed as she realized her awkward position. She struggled to stand up but couldn’t as the man was holding her tightly, very tight indeed.

“What….” Ji Hyo was about to curse when she realized a pair of teary eyes staring at her.

His eyes did not leave her throughout the night. Ji Hyo lowered her head till Grandma Kang reminded her that her forehead is going to touch the bowl.

“CEO Kang, don’t you think is rude to glue your eyes on a lady?” Jong Kook couldn’t take it anymore. He reminded Gary of his manners.

“My eyes shall be on her starting today.” Gary said loudly, with determination in his voice.

“So that was the girl. The reason why you are still single today.” Grandma Kang asked. Gary nodded his head.

“Very pretty.” Grandma Kang smiled as she patted Gary on his back.

“Grandma, you will give me your blessings right?” Gary asked as he laid his head on Grandma Kang’s shoulders.

“Of course I will. I once objected to your parents’ marriage and made life difficult for them. History should not repeat itself on my grandson.” Grandma combed Gary’s back.

Gary would stay in Bejing for 1 to 2 weeks every month. Whenever he is in Beijing, he would send Bouquet of flowers, basket of fruits, boxes of chocolate, gifts of dresses and jewelries were send to Ji Hyo’s apartment. With every gift sent, he wrote messages on cards and have these send to Ji Hyo with the gifts. He also visits Ji Hyo's workplace and also her hangouts, just to get a glimpse of her.

“Ji Hyo, Ever since the day I meet you again, my heart started moving again. Love, Gary.”

Ji Hyo returned every gift that Gary sends except for the fruits and chocolates, she also kept the card that comes with the gifts.
