Chapter 17 : Her Voice.
"You're a girl. I'm a guy. What if something happens to you?"

Han Jin Sae.
"W-What?" Minho muttered softly before you took your bag off his shoulder to sling it on your shoulder. You felt really cold to the point where you were shivering. "I said thank you." you said quickly in one breath as it was hard just trying to stand properly. "Let's get you cleaned up." Minho said as he tried to reach for your hand to pull you to wherever he was going to take you but you wouldn't let him. "Look just," you breathed out as you took a step back. "Stop being so nice to me just because I seem pitiful."

"Jin Sae I just-"

"Stop." you said as you gazed down to the ground. "You don't have to need to have the urge to just help me because I seem pitiful. I don't need that." you shook your head before you tried to walk away from him when he pulled you in for a hug. "Why does Luhan get to have you so close to him but whenever I try you push me away?" he asked and you felt your heart just beating a little bit faster than usual because of the sudden contact. "M-Minho stop-" you said as you tried to push him away. Not because you mind him hugging you, because you were going to get coffee stains on his shirt.

Narrator.
"Just let me be this nice to you. Please." he said as he hugged Jin Sae tighter. She gulped as she couldn't find the will to just push him away. To think of it, he did have a point. Whenever Minho was this close, she would say she has a problem with it but with Luhan, nothing seems to come into her mind as if it was natural. Maybe she had to be fair to Minho too. "F-Fine." she breathed out and he broke the hug, placing his hands at her waist. "Really?"

"Over affectionate people." Luhan scoffed as he looked away from the two people hugging in front of the cafeteria door. His eyes darted back to the two people when he realized it was Jin Sae and Minho. Luhan got up from the bench a distance away from them to look closer. "What the hell?" Luhan cursed when Minho smiled at Jin Sae with his hands at her waist. He smirked when Jin Sae pushed his hands away from her waist. Instead he reached for her hands to hold them tight and Luhan's smirk fell. He furrowed his eyebrows when she didn't push him away this time. He held onto her hand tight and pulled her to the direction of the dorms and he leaned against the wall to hide his presence when they walked by. 

He took a step forward to look at the two of them walking side by side with his back facing him. "So it's official huh?" Luhan raised an eyebrow as he clicked his tongue. Luhan took out a schedule from his pocket. "She has Science now." Luhan's eyes widened when he realized he had the same class as her. "I have Science too." he smirked and he folded the paper to put it in her pocket. "Alright Minho, you can have her now, but I'll have her later." Luhan whispered to himself and the rest of EXO-M who was standing behind him asked in unison, "Who are you talking to?"

Luhan jerked up and turned around instantly with a hand on his chest. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO SNEAK UP ON ME LIKE THAT!" Luhan shouted and the rest couldn't help but laugh when they saw his cheeks burning up with rage.

Luhan came into class early as he sat down at his usual seat. He made sure the seat beside him was empty and Kris took the seat behind Luhan. Kris kicked Luhan's chair and Luhan turned around to raise an eyebrow. "Whose that seat for?" Kris asked and Luhan gulped. "N-No one."

"Then why is your book there?" Kris asked as he raised an eyebrow. "Oh, i-it is?" Luhan asked as he faced front before he slowly took his book away. "Damn you Kris." Luhan cursed softly and Kris snickered. "Just say you were saving that seat for Jin Sae." Kris sang softly and Luhan scoffed before he indirectly showed Kris the finger. "Show me that finger again and I'll break it off." Luhan turned around to show Kris his tongue when the door opened. CL came into the class and Luhan's eyes brightened as he waited for Jin Sae to come in but she didn't. CL sat beside the empty seat on Luhan's right and Luhan turned to look at CL. CL could sense someone staring at her and she turned to look at Luhan. "Why are you staring?"

Luhan his lips nervously before he asked, "Where's your bestfriend?" CL raised an eyebrow before she nodded her head when she realized who he was talking about. "Jin Sae?" she asked, just to make sure they were talking about the same person. Luhan nodded his head and she faced front as she took out her things. "She's skipping class today."

"Why?" Luhan asked and she turned to look at him. "Ask her yourself."

Luhan groaned as he folded his arms on his table to hide his face. "Why can't people just tell me the god damn answer without me begging for it?" 

"Luhan, copying is never the answer." Luhan raised his head to see his Science teacher beside him with a pop quiz. "But I wasn't even-"

"I expected more from you, Luhan." the teacher said as she placed the pop quiz on his table before she began to distrubute the pop quiz to everyone. Luhan clenched his fists before he reluctantly took the paper to start answering the questions. When the class ended, just as he left the classroom, he handed up his pop quiz and took another new one. "Are you that hardworking?" the teacher asked in an amused voice and he turned to look at the teacher. "You should look around, one of your students aren't present here today. Take it as I'm helping you." Luhan smirked before he left the room.

Han Jin Sae.

"Alright girl, talk." CL said as she has been watching you for the past hour just lying down on your bed doing nothing. You didn't want to eat, you didn't even want to say hi when she got back. "CL, am I worthless?" you couldn't help but ask that question and she gaped open as she got up from her bed to drag a chair and sit by your bed. "Why would you ask that?"

"I just feel like that, you know?" you said as she got up from the chair to sit beside you on the bed. She pushed you aside so she had place to sit. "How nice of you to just push me." you joked a little before she gave a light tap on your stomach. "Not my fault you won't move."

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked and you gulped before looking at her. "You can trust me." she gave you an assuring smile and you muttered a soft, "Oh what the heck." as you sat up on the bed to tell her everything.

"So that's why you were so cold towards him." she nodded her head when she understood the whole situation. The relationship between you and L.Joe. "Yeah, he's not so nice now is he?" you asked and she sighed as she rested her head on your shoulder. You had no idea how or when but she was sitting beside you with both of your backs on the bedrest. "CL," you called her out softly and she responded with a soft, "Hmm?"

"Thank you." she chuckled before she asked why you thanked her. "For being my friend. I've never had a friend like you before who is a girl." she smiled before she tapped your hand on your stomach. "You can count on me. Plus, my life got more interesting with you in it." she said as she got up from your bed. "I won't ask if that's a compliment or an insult." you said and she chuckled. "It's a compliment."

Three hours passed and you couldn't sleep. As much as you knew it was going to be hell for you when you wake up tomorrow morning, you couldn't sleep. Instead you just got up from your bed and you remembered when EXO-K came over the other day, they brought over your guitar for you from your father. You took the guitar underneath your bed and opened the door slowly with the guitar and your phone in your hands. "Lock the door on your way out." you hear CL whisper and you smiled. "Will do boss." you whispered back and you closed the door before locking it. You walked down the corridors and so happened you passed by a noticeboard. 

Students that are caught sneaking out of the dorms and going out will be punished.

You shrugged at the notice before you took a seat in front of the glass door to the balcony. You tried your luck to open the door but it was shut tight. "These people have got to open this door." you cursed as you sat down as you stared out side of the glass door with your guitar placed beside you. You took your phone and you had a few text messages.

"How are things in the university? Are things alright? Did you make friends?"
From : Yun-O || Received : 7.30p.m.

"Hey, are you alright? Why aren't you replying me?"
From : Yun-O || Received : 8.45p.m.

"Yun-O insisted that I texted you too. You're worrying us. Are you alright? :x"
From : Minnie || Received : 10.35p.m.

You managed to smile before you replied both Yunho's and Changmin's messages, telling them things are alright and you're fine. You didn't exactly wnat to tell them what happened today or how things actually were for you because you didn't want them to worry. They have enough things to worry about anyway. Looking at your phone you saw Sehun's name at your inbox. Feeling like you should call him, you didn't. It was 12.35a.m. and you knew he was sleeping. "I'll call him tomorrow." you breathed out and put your phone aside. You took the guitar beside you and started struming the chords to the song that had jusr popped into your mind. Instead of singing the verses, you went straight to the chorus.

"Nothing's fine, I'm torn,
I'm all out of faith,
This is how I feel,
I'm cold and I am chained.."

You stopped playing and you put the guitar aside the moment you didn't feel like singing anymore because you knew you were going to cry anytime soon just doing this to yourself and you didn't want that for yourself. "You have a nice voice." you hear a voice behind you spoke up and it made you jerk up a little. You let out a soft scoff after you took a quick glance at who it was before facing front to look through the glass door. "It's just you." you breathed out and Luhan picked up your guitar before he sat beside you on the floor. "For someone who is so..annoying. You have a nice voice." 

"I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult." you said as you rolled your eyes at him. He chuckled softly before he tapped your guitar with his fingers. "I saw what happened today." he said softly as he lifted his chin to look at you. "Well yeah I mean everybody did." you said  with one breath softly as you stared out the glass door in front of you. "How about a song? To make you feel better?" he offered as he positioned the guitar on his lap in a way where he could play any song. "Since when you became so nice? It's freaking me out." He scoffed before he poked your forehead. "Just accept me being nice to you before I change my mind."

"Alright, show me what skills you have." you challenged him and he looked up to think a little before he started to strum a few chords but he failed doing so. You could tell he wasn't a person who plays the guitar. "Give me that before you wreck my guitar." you said as you tried to take your guitar away from him but he wouldn't let you. You ended up watching him try to play the guitar and after a while he grew frustrated and he handed you the guitar. "Play for me something." he said with a huff and now you were wondering if you're the person who went through a rough day or he did. "I'll play for you something else. The guitar isn't my thing." he shrugged as you gripped onto the guitar.

Luhan.
"Or we could just go ou-" I kept silent when she started to play a song. 

"Come on skinny love just last the year."

My gaze softened when she started singing. She had her hair swept to one side with the moonlight being our only light source. It's nearing 12.50a.m. and here I am sitting beside this girl as she played the guitar.

"Pour a little salt, we were never here,
My my my, my my my, my my my my my,
Staring at the sink of blood, and crushed veneer."

I couldn't find the words to say when she was singing. Not that I could anyway, as much as I didn't want to, I was being pulled into her voice. She waved a hand in front of my face and I blinked at her. "What?" I blurted out and she cracked a smile at my expression. "I don't know about you but I feel like crap and I just want to sleep. So uh.." I got up immediately and scoffed as I looked down on her. "W-Who said I was going to stay here with you anyway?" I said as I took small steps away from her. It was her turn to scoff as she got up and I turned around to give a look at her when she wasn't walking. "What?" she whispered loud enough for me to hear and I crossed my arms in front of my chest. "Isn't your dorm just there? Go in." I said and she rolled her eyes at me. "Your dorm is just there too, why don't you get in?"

I scoffed before I placed my hands at my waist, I felt really feminine just doing that but I didn't care. "You're a girl. I'm a guy. What if something happens to you?" She nodded her head before she let out a sigh. "Alright mom. I'll listen to you just this once." she snapped at me before she turned around and walked towards her dorm. I managed to pull out a smile when she walked towards her door. When she turned around, I hid my smile as I motioned her to go in. I hear her whisper a soft, "Thank you, Luhan." before she went in and closed the door behind her. I gulped as I placed a hand on my chest. "God, what is going on?" I muttered softly before I pulled my hand away to walk back to my door.

When I reached my door I went in but I turned around to look at her door from my dorm. "No," I whispered softly as I stared at her door. As if I was waiting for her to come out or something. "Thank you, Jin Sae."
