"Sehun, you practiced the steps I taught you?" Lay asked, throwing his bag onto the table. 

Sehun nodded distractedly, his nerves were returning in full force since he opened his eyes this morning. He fidgeted on the bench, his legs were twitching non-stop. 

Lay examined Sehun's condition from where he stood and sighed. He exchanged a worried glance with Kai who were watching the scene quietly from his chair. 

Lay didn't have a clue what happened between the two who used to be best buddies, and frankly, he didn't want to know. But since Sehun came to find him one evening and begged him to train him back to shape, Lay unwillingly got dragged into this matter.

Sehun didn't have the natural talent as Kai or him, but the guy was kinda good when he put his mind to it. That's how he connected with Kai in the first place. 

But today was the day of the school's annual party, and the performance they're about to perform later will be the kick-off. The most important part was that there'll be talent scouts coming, and most of them were determined to get pick.

"I'm gonna go and check out the stage. Sehun" Lay called out. "Take a deep breath, you'll be fine" he said before walking out of the room.

Sehun jerked on the bench, startled to hear Kai's soft voice.

"Geez, relax. It's not like you haven't done this before" Kai muttered, rolling his eyes.

"What do you want?" Sehun asked bitterly.

Kai hesitated. Sehun watched him scrunched his forehead, thinking hard, like he was having an internal argument with himself. Then he let out a sigh.

"I confessed to Haneul last week"

Sehun's mind were running through the choreography Lay had taught him, his foot couldn't stop jingling. "Confessed what?"

Kai gave him a stare. "I told Haneul I like him"

Sehun seemed to froze for a long time. Then he looked like he was choking...on air?

Kai started to stand up, but sat back down again when Sehun's eyes snapped to him. He straightened up in his seat, matching the intense gaze that Sehun was bestowing on him.

Silence, the silence was deafening in Kai's opinion. Like right now, even when outside of this room, sounds and noises were heard, but inside here, there's nothing. Only the sounds of their breathing, and that too, seemed so loud.

Lay literally walked into the battlefield without any clue, opening and closing the door carelessly and started to gush about the people filling up the auditorium. 

Sehun stood up in the middle of Lay's rant, causing the elder to stop and gave him a questioning look. 

"I need to take a little breather, I'll be right back, hyung" he said quietly.
