hapter I - Han Ga In, Fired.
Han Ga In let down her long, silky coaled hair loose from a tight ponytail. The afternoon sun was beating down against her clothed body; long sleeve leather jacket, white tee-shirt, and black slacks. Her body was starting to sweat as she approached a team of detectives, reporters, and securities gathering over the one thing that had brought her to that same location; a large pool located in the center of an three acre backyard belonged to an expensive two stories white home.
She fished for her working gloves in her jacket's pockets and pulled out a pair of white ones. She slid them on and taking long strides to getting closer to the scene.
Meanwhile a tall and handsome detective was crouching and checking the body of the deceased young woman.
The deceased woman was no older than twenty and her skin had turned blue and raw due to being drowned in the pool. She had one layer of clothes on and it was now a see through light puce dress. The man placed a hand on her frozen and dead cheek and exhaled heavily, "From the feel of it, she's been dead and drowned for more than five hours maximum."
An officer squatting next to the man's ears perked back, "Excuse me?"
The man looked up and fixed his gaze into the eyes of the questioning latter. "She's been dead since eight this morning." He bluntly said again and the officer once again remained confused.
"How do you know--?" The latter was about to asked when Ga In's appearance halted him in his position. She squatted beside them and the two men watched with curiosity.
Ga In didn't mind the unfamiliar faces and took a closer look at the state of the body and her surroundings. "Where's the individual that reported this case?" Ga In asked.
"Detective Choi...." The officer replied.
"Who?" Ga In asked again.
"My partner." The handsome detective responded this time. Ga In and him exchanged glances before she question him. Then as the three stood almost in unison,
"And which department are you from, detective?" Ga In asked.
The man exhale and faced her before answering in a somewhat cold manner, "Detective Shim, Shim Changmin. I'm from Daegu's Agency R18, now known as the reviver Legend of Gwakjoong head chief."
Ga In's facial expression was tied between a surprised and trying to hold in a mockery laughter. Legend, he say.
"Then, please to meet you. Call me Detective Han from Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency fifth division, detective." Ga In introduced and held her hand out for him to take it. The man took it and they shook hands before another unfamiliar face showed up. The man was also tall and handsome but not as tall as Detective Shim. Ga In convinced herself he must be the partner, Detective Choi, thus to avoid appearing rude, Ga In again held out her hand before the newcomer, "Detective Choi from Daegu Agency?" She asked hoping she got the correct person.
He smiled and nodded then took her hand, "Yes Minho, you can call me Choi Minho, and you're Detective Han from the local area, right? Pleasure to meet you." He said with such certainty, that Ga In was impressed. It's not like she was a popular detective or one to claim herself as a 'legend', so when a stranger knew her just by glancing she was flattered.
"It's a pleasure to meet you here as well." Ga In couldn't hide her smile even after she had let go of the man's larger hand.
Once their introductory was done and over with, the three detectives had started to discuss the case away from the scene. They stood in a triangle facing one another and soon Detective Shim led the conversation. "This case isn't a homicide, it's suicide." He bluntly stated and the way he spoke, it annoyed Ga In.
"How can you be sure Detective Shim?" Ga In asked while playing with her gloved fingers. "There are no CCTV around so first we'll have to check and see if there are any witnesses or evidence to your claim--"
The man interrupted her in a rather cold manner, "How long have you been a detective, Detective Han?" After a pause he didn't wait for her to respond and instead continued, "If you're going to rely on witnesses, CCTV, and or evident, then what are you doing here? You didn't expect a woman in her late 20s to set up CCTV before self-terminating did you?" He asked with his arms folded against his flat chest.
"Changmin that's enough." His partner whispered to him and then Ga In folded her arms, their gazes met; Detective Shim and Detective Han.
"Then let me ask you a few questions as well, Detective Shim." Ga In stated firmly and he waited for her to continue as Detective Choi wasn't comfortable with the mood of the situation. "Because the victim is a woman do we conclude she's the homeowner? Because she is a woman do we also conclude she has no knowledge of the existence of CCTVs? And lastly." Ga In took a step closer to Detective Shim, appearing as intimidating as she could, "Where are your manners? Is it right for you to talk down to me just because you considered yours
