Key the opportunist

My Gangster Roommate

Key knocked on the door and waited patiently for Eunmi to open the door.

"Key?" she said in surprise at the unexpected visitor at the door. "What are you doing here?"

Key scratched his head and blushed slightly. "Err you know, I saw the news on Yoona and I knew that Jaejoong would be out drinking, so I thought I would keep you company since you'll be alone at home."

Eunmi smiled. "Thanks for the concern Key. Come on in then."

Key walked into Jaejoong's apartment nervously, as if it was the first time he went.

"You need anything to drink?" Eunmi asked.

"No its okay." Key smiled. "Come on, let's go to the couch."

Both of them plopped themselves side by side on the couch and watched TV.

"Hahaha that was funny!" Key exclaimed.

When he received no response, he glanced at Eunmi to find her deep in thought, completely detached from what was happening on screen.

"Yah! Park Eunmi! The house is on fire!" Key screamed.

"WHHHAAATTTT???!!" Eunmi shrieked and jumped up.

"Just kidding." Key smiled cutely.

Eunmi threw him a are-you-seriously-that-bored look and sat back down.

"What was that for?" she asked.

Key chuckled at her cuteness when she was pissed. "You looked like you had flown all the way to Mars so I thought I'd call you back to earth."

Eunmi bit her lips and sighed. "Do you think Jaejoong will be alright?"

Key's eyes widened at the sudden change in direction of the conversation.

"Was that what you were thinking about?" he asked, slightly hurt. "I don't know. I guess Yoona's news will be a big shock to him. That Bae Suzy is seriously insane."

Eunmi gazed at the ceiling and let out a small sigh.

"Do you think that he'll get back with her?" she asked, immersed in her thoughts. "I mean, the reason why I got to stay here, why he agreed to let a total stranger stay with him, was because of the bracelet that represented their relationship. It just represents how he loves her and everything related to her doesn't it."

Key flinched at how depressed she sounded and how she was so concerned over his hyung's love life.

"I'm guessing that he'll get back with her." Key said.

He didn't say it because he wanted to sabotage Jaejoong and Eunmi's relationship, but it was clear to him, the Jaejoong he knew from before would definitely get back with her.

"He loved her so much." Key explained. "She left him for ballet. Even after going down on his knees and begging her not to break up with him, not to leave him, because he will die without her, Yoona still left. Under this sort of circumstances I would have hated the girl, since it was evident that she didn't love me enough.

But to Jaejoong, it doesn't matter how much love Yoona has for him. As long as there was a little affection, he would be contented. No matter how many times Yoona threw him away like he was worthless, he would always welcome her back with his hands spread wide.

He loved her so much without expecting anything in return. Doing things to help her in her career behind her back, visiting her concerts just to catch a glimpse of her, wanting so much to just say a word to her but not daring to show his face as he thought it would give her pressure.

This type of love-stuck Jaejoong, I guess he would definitely go back to her." Key said truthfully.

Eunmi felt her heart cringe at how much love and sacrifice Jaejoong had given to the relationship.

"He'll go back to her?" she echoed sadly.

Key nodded. "Yeah. Especially if she's paralyzed now, he'll want to take care of her more."

Eunmi looked up at the ceiling to prevent her tears from dropping.

*Park Eunmi are you stupid? Why are you crying over something like this?*

"Key, I'm tired. I want to sleep soon." Eunmi said.

Key understood and made his way to the door. "Bye Eunmi. Goodnight."

Eunmi nodded slightly and went back to the room.

Key gazed at her forlorn figure and sighed.

*I wanted to be an opportunist tonight and try to get a chance with you. Guess I was just being naive.

It's not that you don't believe in love Eunmi.

You just don't dare to admit that you've already fallen in love.*

Key stepped out of the house and gritted his teeth.

*Jaejoong hyung, now that Yoona has come back, I hope you'll make the right choice.

Especially when I've already backed out, you better not let Eunmi cry again.

If not, I'll do anything to get her.*

Chapter 85: I read your Alien Ahjuma series earlier and loved it. When I saw this story featuring JJ and EM as well, I decided to delve into it because of the cute familiar pairing. Glad you kept EM as the OC female lead in your JJ stories...so much easier for the reader to relate to. Loved all the hilarious moments in this fic. I'll be off to the sequel soon. Good job Goddess! Thank you. :)
