Kai’s POV

Throughout the drive I felt so…. I don’t know…

Guilty.

Yeah, that's it.

I really felt so guilty for not congratulating her for the great achievement she’s got

(Solely due to me teaching her Math)

After I said my heartfelt words to her, you don’t know how great I am feeling right now.

Especially to see her smile again.

I finally got to see her smile.

The beautiful smile which I have not seen in a while.

“Gomawoyo.” she said softly.

I sat on the coffee table, shrugged a little and just nodded my head.

I watched her slowly lying on the sofa as her sleepy eyes drooping while her mind drifts off to wonderland.

“Kai? Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked sleepily.

“Get to sleep. I’m waiting for you to sleep, so I could bath.” I replied softly.

“Oh. Mianhe. I’ll sleep now.” And her eyes were immediately shut and her soft snore was heard.

Ah… Her soft, peaceful snore.

My lullaby.

For some reason, it helps me to sleep peacefully throughout the night.

After five minutes, I realized that I was actually touching her hair.

I snapped out of the trance and immediately got bathing.

>>> After ten minutes.

“Hey, you can bath now.” I shook her to wake her up.

No respond.

“EunHye? Hey, come on. You need to bath.”

“I… Hmm…”

I looked at her.

She’s sleep talking.

“Please, don’t leave… don’t leave…”

“Hey, EunHye. Stop sleep talking. I’m not leaving anywhere. Hurry up and bath.” I raised my tone.

Yet there was no responds from her.

How can she sleep so peacefully when I’m making so much noise to wake her up?!

I looked at her carefully, examining her facial expression.

A tear rolled down her right pale cheek.

She’s crying?

“Don’t leave me… I don’t want to be alone again. Please don’t leave me alone.”

Don’t leave her alone?

What nonsense is she spouting in her dreams?

I am just beside her.

“Umma… Appa… Don’t leave… I’m scared.”

Then it strike me.

Didn’t Taemin say something about her parents?

What was it?

Oh…

Her parents…

The both of them died in a terrible car accident, leaving her as the sole survivor of her family.

She was adopted by Taemin’s parents since her parents and Taemin’s parents were in good terms.

I looked at her again and tears started flowing down her cheeks.

“Don’t leave me alone…” she murmured once more.

She has Monophobia (Fear of being alone).

No wonder she keeps sticking on to Taemin like glue.

I sat on the sofa and placed her head on to my lap.

I wiped off her tears and slowly pat her head.

“You will never be alone. I promise. Never alone again.” I whispered.

What’s wrong with me?

I didn’t intend to say that.

My mind made me think of her.

My heart made me pity her.

My hands made me feel her.

My body is just moving on its own.
