WHAT IS LOVE

What Is Love?

~ FINALE ~

Chanyeol was crying.

But it was not for the fact that the bride was simply beautiful, or the ceremony was too emotional, it's not even about how wonderful the church looked at Sunghee's wedding.

He was howling like a lost dog because he almost ruined everything.

You know how most brides get all worked up just right before her wedding because she wants everything to go smoothly on the most important day of her life?

Well, a few minutes earlier, at her dressing room, Sunghee almost out in mental distress after realizing her bouquet of flowers were somehow missing. Her first thought was she misplaced it and now everything was ruined. It took quite a lot of people to calm her down, telling her they have enough time before the groom comes and the ceremony starts.

And while everyone was running about alertly searching for the flowers, With just incredibly dull luck, Chanyeol just happens to have the most brilliant idea to show off (or so he thought...). He snuck behind Sunghee with the innocent intention of amusing her, to try and at least make her feel better. Using his powers, he created his own bouquet of flowers made up of flames.

Of course, Park Chanyeol will always be Park Chanyeol. Something crazy was bound to happen.

It didn't end the way he'd hope.

Having burnt almost half of Sunghee's long bridal veil, the bride screamed in utter shock and anger. "Waaaahhhhhhhh?!?!!!!!!"

Everyone else came rushing to see what happened and saw the mess Chanyeol had made. All of their mouths gaped open seeing the smokes coming off from the back of Sunghee's head, her beautiful face full of irritation and rage towards Park Chanyeol.

"Holy f-" Kris almost cussed inside the church if Tao hadn't nudged him.

"Chanyeol!" Jongin couldn't quite understand if he should laugh at Chanyeol's stupid reaction or pity Sunghee. "What the crap were you thinking?!" He, thankfully, did not curse.

"I-I.. I was.." Chanyeol stammered nervously as everyone's glares were directed towards him. "It's not what it looks like! I swear I was just trying to-"

The scariest of them all was Sunghee's. She was mentally trying to murder Chanyeol at the back if her head. "PARK. CHAN. YEOL." Her death glares sent chills down his spine. "SIT YOUR DOWN RIGHT NOW OR ELSE, SO HELP ME GOD, I WILL BARBECUE THE LIFE OUT OF YOU LATER AT MY WEDDING RECEPTION!!" Her curses were heard throughout the building.

"B-But!" Chanyeol pleaded.

"Come on you idiot." Baekhyun plastered his hand onto Chanyeol's mouth, preventing the boy to make any more arguments that could lead to Sunghee strangling him and sending him to an early funeral.

She almost attacked him. Damn it! Nothing was going right! What if everything else goes wrong? What if her groom doesn't show up? Or how about she trips on her perfect wedding gown and hit her head on her way and finally die?! What if- What if-

The stress was getting through her brain. She was starting to panic and imagine all sorts of tragic scenarios that could go wrong.

But suddenly her mood swung just on the right time when someone from the watchful crowd said, "The groom's here! He has the bouquet!!" Everyone scrambled out the dressing room door and turned their heads to the entrance and... and well...

Sunghee forgot everything.

Seeing her husband-to-be strut his perfect stride towards the crowd, it took her breath away. Her cheeks flushed and wondered if she looked just as amazing. "S-Sehun.."

Without any clearance, Hyunjae pulled her to the side while everyone's attention was on the coming groom. She led Sunghee back inside the dressing room and shut the door behind her.

It was too late when everyone realized that the bride had disappeared. When Sehun asked where Sunghee was, no one dared to tell him she almost had a breakdown for a single freakin bouquet, and almost had her hair burnt off. Instead, they told him she was calmly waiting in the dressing room. They had to keep this day as unchaotic as possible- if even possible.

Inside the room~

"Hyunjae-ah." Sunghee looked at her in confusion. "What is it?" She asked.

"I wanted to talk to you before everything starts." Hyunjae seemed quite more relaxed nowadays. She wasn't as quiet and stiff like she was before. She's improved into an even more charming version of herself. Even so, she was still that shy and adorably honest girl Sunghee knows.

Hyunjae took Sunghee's hands and looked at her intently. "Y-You look really beautiful, Sunghee." She sounded so awestruck, so direct and childlike, she was adorable.

"R-Really?" Hearing the compliment made Sunghee feel better. Her hand went up her head where the burnt veil lies and she remembered Chanyeol's irritating commotion. She wanted to cry then and there but she didn't want to ruin her make up. Her eyes turned glossy. "But I'm scared everything else would go wrong." She finally admitted. "I'd hate to say this but it's probably not about my veil, or my bouquet. I'm just... nervous. So nervous I can almost feel my heart jumping out of my chest."

"What's so scary about getting married?" Hyunjae asked. "What is there to be nervous about?"

The question struck Sunghee like a pan to the head. Why was she so nervous? This was supposed to be the easiest thing on earth- telling the whole world about how much she loves Sehun. "I..I'm not so sure myself." Sunghee laughed at her own density.

Hyunjae made her sit down and face the mirror. "Now stop looking to tense. Look at your self. You're a beautiful bride about to marry a wonderful man... Even though I've only known you for some time.." After that genuine compliment, she began taking Sunghee's head veil off and pulled out a shorter one from her bag. She carefully attached it on to Sunghee's hair like a pro.

Sunghee gasped. (Damn it Hyunjae why do you have to be so sweet. I don't want to cry right now!!) "H-How did you...?"

Hyunjae beamed the most adorable smile. "I was thinking ahead." She said. "To be honest this is the first wedding ceremony I've ever been to... I wanted everything to be perfect for you." She blushed a little, blinking embarrassedly.

"You don't happen to have an extra wedding dress in your bag do you?" Sunghee laughed.

"No." Hyunjae laughed as well. "And trust me you don't need it. I've said it two times already, you look beautiful."

Sunghee got up from the chair and turned to hug Hyunjae as tightly as she could. There was no words to explain how much this moment shared with Hyunjae made Sunghee wish she had her mother and father and Miyoung right here with her. Once again she held her breath an tried not to cry. "Thank you. Thank you so much."

"No. Thank you." Hyunjae hugged back. "For treating me as a good friend...even though from the beginning my sole mission was to kill you, I don't regret meeting you at all because if we hadn't met I would never have felt happy for once. Also, I would have never met everyone else." She blushed a little.

"You... like Jongin, don't you?" Sunghee asked.

"H-Huh?"

"I mean, how do you feel about him?"

Hyunjae started playing with her fingers. "Well he's annoying. And he tries to act cool all the time which doesn't really work for him. He's weird. H-He... he makes me feel... weird."

Sunghee couldn't help but admire her. Why the heck is she just too cute for words?! "Hmmm..." She hummed. "I know what you mean. The first time I realized I liked Sehun I felt weird too." She giggled at the sight of Hyunjae's embarrassed reaction. "But.. you and Jongin have all the time in the world so take your time. Realizing you care for someone is enough as a first step. Listen to me carefully, okay? Don't rush things in life. Enjoy every minute you have with him."

With everything Sunghee has said, Hyunjae processed it slowly through her brain. And then her whole face lit up again with a smile. "Someday, I'd like to get married like you, Sunghee. To be just as happy as you. On that day, I'd like you to be beside me  just like this giving me advices..because you are by far the best one I've ever had."

"Best one?"

"Best friend."

"Count me in, bestfriend." Sunghee smiled.

"Awwwww~ That's so cute!!" Kim Kibum, one of the guests, came in looking for the bride but instead he just squealed of happiness, seeing the two girls having the precious moment together.

"Key!" Jonghyun called behind him. "Is she ready?"

"Just as sec!" Key spat back looking annoyed. Then he turned all cute and sweet, looking at Sunghee and Hyunjae. "Girls, it's about to start. Are you all set?"

Sunghee's heart began to pound as she went out and positioned her self at the middle of the isle. The first few steps were nerve wrecking. Once she saw everyone seated at their seats, all eyes on the stunning bride, it became even more nerve wrecking that she almost forgot how to move.

Luckily, with Joonmyun and Luhan on either side as escorts, Sunghee was relieved to have pillar of supports.

And they began to walk down the isle...

"Well, this is it." Luhan whispered as the slow music started playing and the line started to move ever so slightly. "Joonmyun, our little girl is all grown up and about to get married."

Joonmyun's grip went a little tighter. He had that constipated look again as he tried not to cry. "Yeah.."

Sunghee chuckled. Tugging him a little, she whispered. "No one is allowed to cry at my wedding." She teased.

"Just promise me you won't forget that you'll always have us, okay?" Joonmyun sniffed. "If you're having problems or Sehun is making you clean too much or-"

"He won't." Sunghee politely interrupted. "You know, and you've seen it. You know Sehun loves me, which is why you even agreed to this marriage in the first place."

"Well, she's got a point." Luhan said.

"I just-" Joonmyun wanted to dish out more reasons to argue but in all honesty he knew what Sunghee said was right. "Don't want you to forget us."

"That's stupid!" She nudged both of them with her elbows. Clearly they were getting too emotional to even rationalize. "How on earth will I ever be able to forget my brothers?! You two took care of me and raised me! Next to Father and Sehun, you guys will always be the most amazing men I have in my life."

"Promise?" Luhan pouted, feeling so touched.

"Of course!" Sunghee assured them both.

Luhan and Joonmyun both bit their lips. How the hell were they not supposed to cry? Both of them stood as Sunghee's brothers for years. This is as hard as it'll ever be for any sibling.

Which brings us now to Chanyeol, who apparently didn't get the memo that no one was allowed to cry at this event. He kept howling on about Sunghee hates him now and he was sorry. Although, it would have been alright for Sunghee that he was making a scene again, but Baekhyun thought otherwise. He was the one Chanyeol was pestering and shaking like a rag doll. It wasn't fair! He was ready to strangle Chanyeol any moment now but he had to control himself.

"I.. r-ruined her.. h-head veil!" Chanyeol shook his seatmate, Baekhyun, a little too vigorously. "S-She's gunna.. c-cook me alive!!"

"You deserve it, moron." Baekhyun rolled his eyes, shoving him away.

"D-Don't say thaaaat!" Chanyeol sniffed and sobbed.

But with all the noise, all the happy murmuring, plus Chanyeol's loud cries and Baekhyun's constant aggravated grunts to push the annoying tall boy away, Sunghee's sole focus was at the end of the isle. That young and handsome dashing boy starring back at her with the most heart-fluttering smile. Nothing could ever ruin this moment. Chanyeol could burn her wedding dress a thousand times, this building could go down from an earthquake, the world could possibly end but, nonetheless, Sunghee wouldn't care.

This day isn't about anything else but her and Sehun, the two of them becoming one.

Finally, after a few more steps she made it up front. Luhan and Joonmyun gave her one last hug before giving her to the groom. Sehun himself received a rather quite strong pat from Joonmyun, whispering, "You better take good care of her."

Sehun nodded firmly. He knew that wasn't a request. It is also more than an obligation, something never to be taken lightly.

Then it was just the two of them. Sehun and Sunghee. Their eyes locked on each other, obviously both anxious and excited and nervous.

Sehun took her hand, melting the chill of her nerves away. He couldn't help but pull her closer and snatch a kiss from her flushing cheeks. "You look beautiful." He whispered.

Speak for yourself. Sunghee just quite couldn't open here mouth to speak. Is this for real? She's about to marry this handsome young man. It seemed like a fairytale, a dream come true.

The ceremony went on with everyone eagerly waiting for that one magical moment. Their exchanging of vows.

Once Jongin stood up, bearing the rings in his hands, it was as if everyone went still. This is it. That moment.

Taking the ring, Sehun took a deep breath and looked at Sunghee. She is the most beautiful girl in the world in his eyes, the smartest, the most caring, the kindest, the one. Sunghee was his everything. Nothing or no one could ever compare.

It was nerve wrecking. A few weeks back he was relaxed and was so sure the words will just come flowing right out. He never bothered to practice. Slowly, he began his unrehearsed vow.

"Sunghee, this ring will not merely be just a sign of my love, because my love for you could never be valued by any materialistic thing and every single day my love for you grows.

As you take this ring...

You not only take my heart...

Or my soul with it...

Today, I give you my self, for the rest of our lives.

Do you, with all your heart, accept me?"

Sunghee lifted her hand and said, "I do." Don't cry, Sunghee. Don't cry. She bit her lips feeling like the happiest girl in the world after hearing his vow.

Now it was her turn.

"I promise to never go back on my vow to love you with all my heart, for the rest of our lives...

N-No. wait...

Forever

Even if death do us part...

Will you take this ring, and hold on it, and always keep and cherish this moment that I wholly pledge my love to you... forever?"

"I will love you forever." They promised each other.

Eventually, they both wore their rings and kissed- kissed like they never did before. This was by far the most meaningful kiss of all. It will never be forgotten and forever remembered by everyone who witnessed.

It was true love's kiss.

For their love withstood the test of time...

patient, and kind, and never envious nor boastful...

Throughout all obstacles, not once was their love uncouth and selfish to ever dare question fate...

Their hopes never faltered and nothing could have ever unhinged  their loyalty...

None of them gave up on each other...

That is what true love is.

It bears all things...

believes all things...

hopes all things...

endures all things... and most of all...

Love never fails.
