New Classmate, saviour and friend
Orphanage LoversChapter 5- New classmate, saviour and friend
Wonwoo gulped. This was happening again. He was going to be bullied just like what happened in his previous school. The boys dragged Wonwoo to the backyard where no one ever goes. “How dare you stare at me? Don’t you know who I am?!” The leader of the gang spat. “Yonghyun-ah, just beat him up already. The sight of him disgusts me.” One of the gang member said. The boys then started to throw punches and kicks at Wonwoo, who couldn’t fight back. Wonwoo’s body was badly bruised and he was on the verge of tears until a voice spoke up from behind. “Yah! What are you guys doing?!” The person who spoke had a weird accent. As if Korean wasn’t his first language. Wonwoo looked up and saw a boy with beautiful eyes and a high nose staring at the gang. “Lee Yonghyun. Don’t think that just because you’re the Principal’s son, everyone has to listen to you. Get lost before I tell your dad what you did. He wouldn’t be pleased. And this time. I’m pretty sure you won’t even be able to walk for a few days.” The foreign boy threatened the leader. “Damn it. Who are you to even tell me what to do? Moon. Jun. Hui.” Yonghyun replied. The other boys in the gang knew that Yonghyun was no match for Jun Hui in terms of fighting or power. They quickly pulled Yonghyun away by his arm and scurried away.
“Are you alright? You seem badly injured…” Jun Hui said with concern as he lifted Wonwoo’s chin, looking for more injuries. “Can you get up? I’ll get you to the infirmary.” Jun Hui asked. Wonwoo tried to get up on his own, but he fell back onto the ground as he felt a sharp pain on his leg. Jun Hui sighed, before putting one of Wonwoo’s arm around his shoulder and he lifted Wonwoo up. Jun Hui somehow managed to drag Wonwoo’s limp body to the infirmary where the nurse, Naeun, treated Wonwoo’s injuries without any question. “Noona. Will be he alright?” Jun Hui questioned. “Yah. Moon Jun Hui. How many times did I tell you not to call me noona in school? Anyways. The only serious injury he has is his leg. I just bandaged his arm because there might be a hairline fracture. Just try not to let him walk around too much. It should be fine in a weeks’ time. Ah. Since when have you became an angel? Saving kids in school?” Naeun teased Jun Hui. Naeun interned at Pledis Primary School as a nurse. She is 20 years old. Naeun and Jun Hui’s parents were best friends. She has known Jun Hui ever since he was a kid. She played with him whenever their families met for outings.
“Alright. Thank noona! See you at my place this weekends!” Jun Hui ignored whatever Naeun said previously. Jun Hui slipped Wonwoo’s uninjured arm around his shoulder before assisting him out of the infirmary. “Let’s get you back to class. Which class are you from?” Jun Hui questioned, looking at Wonwoo. He cringed at the sight of Wonwoo’s bruises. How does he handle all this pain? It looks pretty painful…and he isn’t showing any emotions. Is this kid a stone? Jun Hui wondered to himself. “I’m from class…3B. I’m fine now. I can manage on my own. I don’t feel like going back to class…thanks for your help anyways.” Wonwoo said, in the softest volume ever. “3B?! Hey, me too! Are you new? No wonder I didn’t see you around! We’re classmates! My name’s Moon Jun Hui. But you can call me Jun. What’s your name?” Jun asked Wonwoo, with his big eyes staring straight into Wonwoo’s soul. Let’s just say Jun was pretty excited to meet his new classmate. “I’m Jeon Wonwoo. Sorry but can you please move back? You’re scaring me…” Wonwoo replied, moving away from Jun. “I can already tell that we’re going to be best friends!” Jun squealed, squishing Wonwoo’s and his face together. Out of reflex, Wonwoo pushed Jun away but flinched at the pain on his arm.
“Let me show you my secret place in this school! No one can find us there!” Jun said, dragging Wonwoo along. Soon, they came to a garden, with plenty of trees to provide shade from the scorching sun. “Tadah! No one ever comes here because it’s quite isolated. I usually come here whenever school is too much to tolerate.” Jun says, walking around the garden. Wonwoo scanned the garden. It was filled with some flowers, with many trees. It was quiet and didn’t seem part of the school. It was definitely a place Wonwoo would visit quite often if he could. He then drops his limp body on the grass, while leaning against one of the trees. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the peace and serenity. Wonwoo was not one to skip classes, but the recent events have drained him so much mentally and physically. He was not proud of what happened today, but he promised himself that he would not do it again. Just today. Just once. He needed a break from reality. Harsh reality that he hated. Meanwhile, Jun was staring at Wonwoo who finally seemed at ease. He broke into a smile, watching the boy in bruises gradually fall into a slumber. Jun never liked attending classes because of the kids in his class. They were rich kids who were rude and acted like little pricks. He preferred the kids from 3A, who were more carefree and friendly. However, after meeting Wonwoo, he found a reason to attend class. He wanted to protect Wonwoo from Y
