Second Encounters
Orphanage LoversChapter 20- Second Encounters
“Well if it was the other guys I would feel that way. But…if it was you…I don’t think I would want to stay here any longer…” Mingyu said, breaking the silence. Wonwoo gulped. He remembered what little Mingyu was about to say.
A frown graced Mingyu’s face, “Because…you’re the most important person to me right now. Before you came, I was always staying in that room alone. I was envious that the others had someone they could sleep with, share their troubles with, laugh and cry with. And when I finally heard someone was going to share a room with me, I was so excited. I didn’t even sleep the night before.”
Wonwoo jolted awake, gasping for air. It was that dream again. He was sweating so much, his shirt was drenched. He turned to look at his clock beside his bed, 5.30am. He always wakes up at this exact timing whenever he had the same dream. It was the same timing he woke up at the day he left the orphanage. He stopped having those dreams about 2 years ago. He really wondered what triggered those dreams to come back again. There was no way he could fall back to sleep, so he went to wash up before changing into his uniform. He decided not to gel his hair up, wanting to cover the dark eye circles that were getting serious. He unlocked his phone, reading the messages that were sent to him.
From: Jun the handsome one ;)
Yo, so how did the apology with Jihoon go? -12.30am
Wow. Did you sleep already? -1.15am
You want to know why we call you the sloth? -1.15am
This is why. Because you’re sleeping at least ¾ of your life away. -1.15am
Wonwoo laughed at Jun’s messages. Since when did he take my phone to change his contact name? Wonwoo wondered. There wasn’t a moment when his phone wasn’t with…him. Right. Jun must have taken his phone in the locker during work. He reminded himself to never leave his phone in the locker. Ever. He also needed to set a password. As Wonwoo carried his bag, walking towards the steps, Jihoon was dragging his lethargic body towards the bathroom.
“Won? What the heck are you doing up so early? Oh…the dreams…?” Jihoon said, rubbing his eyes as he saw Wonwoo’s face turning a little pale. Wonwoo nodded his head to answer the last question. He walked down the steps and sat on the sofa, wondering how he would face Mingyu. Well…we’ll be playing games for the first 2 hours…and then the kids would be going for the extra-curricular activities fair…Oh yes! I get to be away from them! Oh…but I gotta face Hyuk sunbae. you Jun… Wonwoo took out his phone from his pocket. And he began typing furiously.
To: Jun the
God damn it. I need to rethink about our friendship. -6.03am
We have that extra-curricular activities fair. AND I GOTTA FACE HYUK SUNBAE. -6.03am
LET’S NOT FORGET THAT I’M STILL IN THE JOURNALISM CLUB SHALL WE. -6.03am
THERE GOES MY CHANCES OF BECOMING THE CHAIRMAN. DAMN YOU MOON JUN HUI. -6.04am
Urgh…Now Hayoung is probably gonna get a higher chance of becoming the chairman. -6.05am
But I remember her telling me that she just wants to be the photographer… -6.05am
But who the heck says no to being the chairman… -6.05am
I’m blaming you Moon Jun Hui. -6.05am
Wonwoo put down his phone with a sigh. He walked into the kitchen to get his chocolate milk. That was all he had for breakfast. Aunt Soomin and Uncle Junmin had long given up on forcing Wonwoo to eat. They knew that if he wanted to, he would. Jihoon came down the steps, before sitting down on the dining table to have his breakfast while Wonwoo was playing some stupid game on his phone. When Jihoon was done, the two left the house and took a bus to school.
“Can you deal with him? I mean. It’s going to be a short day with them, but still.” Jihoon asked, looking at Wonwoo who paused his game.
“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry okay? I’ll call you if anything crops up. Anyways Seungcheol hyung is around.” Wonwoo said, showing Jihoon a smile. Jihoon nodded his head before plugging in his headphones and took a short nap on the bus. The two arrived in school and went their separate ways. They both needed to set up the booths for their own clubs. Wonwoo in Journalism club and Jihoon in the Music club.
“Morning Hyuk sunbae.” Wonwoo greeted nervously as he stepped into the clubroom. Hyuk merely nodded his head, before putting stacks of posters and flyers in front of Wonwoo.
“Bring this to the venue.” Hyuk’s instructions was curt and simple. Wonwoo felt scared. Hyuk would usually crack some jokes so as to make the rest less nervous before events. But it seems like he wasn’t in the mood today. Wonwoo hurriedly placed the posters and flyers in a box before carrying them to the venue. He was walking in the hallways before he felt a vibration. New message! He whipped out his phone, reading the reply.
From: Jun the
Well…morning messages are supposed to be loving. But you ruined it Jeon. -7.05am
Oh yeah. I forgot you showed love in a different way. Like an alien. -_- -7.05am
