8-year old Taeyeon was running around the room that she and her father were staying at. They were on a cruise on the ship belonging to the company that her father is working for.

"Taeyeon?"

"Yes Appa?"

"I have something for you"

"What is it appa? is it the Mickey mouse giant doll we saw at the mall yesterday?

"Nope." 

"What is it?"

".....it's where everyone's fantasy becomes reality for a while" Her father loved describing things using riddles.

"Tickets to disneyland??" little Taeyeon asked her father while jumping up and down with a grin on her face.

"mmm.. it's even better! Now I want you to close your eyes and open them up when I tell you, okay?"

"Yes appa."

"1...2...3... Open up!" Taeyeon opened her eyes but her smile faded a little.

"Happy Birthday Taeyeon!!" her father cheered and hugged her. "Don't you like it?"

"Appaaa... this isn't even close to those I've mentioned earlier.." little Taeyeon sulked while looking at the object in her hands.

"Why? it's disneyland itself! Don't you want to open it?"

"Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad." Taeyeon whined at her father when she didn't get what she wanted.

"Oh come on Taeyeon, just open it up. You'll love it too" Taeyeon's father smiled as he encouraged her daugther to open it. Taeyeon looked at the object and studied it... 

It was a medium-sized treasure chest. On the lid, the word "Disneyland" is printed. The box itself was decorated like it was disney land. She decided to unlock the chest and opened it. She peeked inside and saw a donald duck calculator, a daisy duck tape, a mickey mouse figurine, a minnie mouse figurine and an envelope with goofy's face in it. By the looks of it, she can tell that it was a letter for her but she didn't bother open it up for she expected it to a "Happy Birthday Taeyeon!" message inside. 

"Cheer up Taeyeon, you've got the whole Disneyland in your hands", Taeyeon's father smiled as he eyed the Disneyland treasure box Taeyeon was holding.

Taeyeon looked at her father with a hint of disappointment. She whimpered and shouted, "I HATE YOU DADDY!" while running out of the room.

"TAEYEON!! TAEYEON, COME BACK!"

Her dad was shocked and tried calling after Taeyeon but the girl didn't respond. He then became worried and went out of the room to search for her daughter. He told her daughter not to leave their room without him nomatter what for the whole time they were on the ship. But Taeyeon, being the stubborn girl she was, ran out of the room without her father beside him. They can't see her.. they can't. 

Taeyeon kept running. She didn't know where she was headed. She relied on her feet, that kept on running, to take her to somewhere far from her father while the seawater splashed on the ship they're currently on. They were on a her father's company cruise ship after all. Taeyeon's feet brought her to the ship's focsle and sat down while crying her eyes out. 

Taeyeon knew that her father worked for Disneyland. She also knew that her father knew how much she wanted to go to Disneyland. She had asked her dad to take her to Disneyland a lot of times before, but her dad would always tell her that she can't yet. She doesn't understand though.

"Why can't appa do it for me even just for my birthday?" Little Taeyeon poured her heart out as she cried.

"H-hey. Why are you crying?" little Taeyeon looked up and turned her head to the side to see a girl, about her age, wearing a white shirt with a pink minnie mouse print. She was holding a lollipop with her left hand.

*sniff... *sniff... 

"What's this?" The little girl sat down and pointed to an object on Taeyeon's side. Taeyeon's eyes widened. Why did I even bring that along with me? 
The girl picked the object up and looked back at Taeyeon.

"Oh look! you're wearing a red minnie mouse shirt! So pretty!" The girl noticed the shirt Taeyeon was wearing and couldn't help but smile at it.

"I-it's my *sniff. .. birthday today." Taeyeon couldn't help herself for her tears wouldn't stop falling.

"Oh. Then why are you crying? You should be happy." The girl noticed that Taeyeon still haven't stopped from crying. For some reason, she can't stand seeing the girl cry. She's too pretty to cry. She looked at the lollipop in her hand, then back to the crying girl.

"Here." The girl gave the lollipop to the girl who suddenly stopped crying out of shock.

"Happy Birthday!! You can have it. Just please stop crying. You're a pretty princess, princesses shouldn't cry." The girl smiled at little Taeyeon while little Taeyeon's cheeks went red. Her heart fluttered and melted when she saw the other girl smile. She was thankful that it was dark enough for the other girl to notice it. 

"T-thanks." little Taeyeon said as as she unwrapped the lollipop and popped it in . For some reason, the girl made her feel better on her birthday. She gave her a lollipop. It may be just a small thing for others, but for her, it was something given out of pure intentions.

"You're welcome."... "So.. what's this?" The girl asked while lifting the object for Taeyeon to notice it.

"That's... my dad's birthday gift to me." Taeyeon told the girl

"It says Disneyland. May I open it?"

"Yeah, sure" Taeyeon shrugged because she didn't really care about the object.

"AWW IT'S SO CUUUTE!" Taeyeon got surprised of the squeal that escaped from the girl's mouth when she looked over the contents of the object. 

"Y-you think it's cute?"

"Yes! Of course! Just look at these!" The girl tilted the chest a bit for Taeyeon to peek inside. "Don't you find them adorable? she pointed at the Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse figurines.

"Umm.. I guess they're cute but.. to be honest, I was kinda expecting to get something different from him." Taeyeon frowned.

"Oh. Really?" the girl's voice went back to normal when she saw the frown on the other girl's face.

"Yeah. I really wanted to go to Disneyland." ... "I mean, yeah, daddy works there but.. I've never been there before." 

"ah. I get what you mean.. I haven't been to Disneyland too." Taeyeon looked at the girl and that's when it sunk in.. she's on the same cruise ship as her which means that one of her parents must be working for Disneyland too.

"Y-you haven't?" 
..the girl nodded. 

"Daddy told me that she's still fixing some things for me before I could go there. It's funny, right? Disneyland is supposed to make kids happy but even if our dads are already working there, we still can't seem to reach that fantastic place.."

little Taeyeon could only nod at the little girl's words.

"...That's why I'm so happy to see this mini Disneyland treasure chest of yours." The girl smiled while she continued to fiddle and play with it. Taeyeon saw how much the girl was enjoying playing with her mini Disneyland treasure chest, especially with the minnie mouse figurine.

"You love Minnie mouse the most, huh?" 

"umm.. y-yes." The girl flushed and flinched as she suddenly became shy. "I like Minnie mouse too.. like you."

"W-whaat?" little Taeyeon thought she misunderstood what the other girl just said.

"I-I mean.. you're wearing a Minnie mouse shirt so.. y-you must l-like Minnie too, right?" the other girl couldn't help but stutter when she realized what she had just said.

"Oh. umm... I actually like Mickey mouse more but my dad wanted me to wear a Minnie mouse shirt instead 'cause he said that it's more girly. And I actually liked to wear a blue shirt but my dad said I should wear red because i'ts my birthday."

"I see..." the little girl said as she continued to play with the Minnie mouse figurine. Little Taeyeon then took the Mickey mouse figurine and placed it on the floor, next to the Minnie mouse figurine that the girl was holding with her left.
The little girl looked at Taeyeon and noticed that she wasn't crying anymore..

"You know what... we should go to Disneyland together one day." Little Taeyeon said.

"y-you'd go w-with me?"

"Yeah. Then we'd be able to see Mickey and Minnie together! Wouldn't that be nice?" little Taeyeon smiled.

"Yeah! Let's go together!" The 2 girls laughed while playing with the figurines. The girl also saw that the loneliness that was evident in the girl's eyes were now replaced with happiness, hope and... something she couldn't quite make of. Meanwhile, little Taeyeon saw how happy her companion looked too. But she found it quite unfair that the girl had given her something while she hadn't. She got an idea as she continued to watch the girl.

"Hey, you love Minnie mouse, right?"

"mmhmm." the girl said, unable to take her eyes off of the figurine that she was happily playing with.

"You can have that." The girl froze. Why is she giving me this? Isn't this her father's present to her?

"Oh no no.. I can't ha---"

"It's okay. It's mine now, right? And I'm choosing to give it to you." little Taeyeon smiled, as she was certain that she was able to read what the girl had been thinking about.

"A-are you sure?"

"Yes. That way, you'll remember me and the promise we made."

"Promise?"

"Yeah, remember? We promised that we'd go to Disneyland together, right?"

"Yeah! Let's go together and meet Mickey and Minnie!" the girl said as she became excited just by thinking about it.

"Thank you then! It's so cute." She smiled.

 
Little Taeyeon saw how happy she looked when she gave her the Minnie mouse figurine. In fact, she was willing to give the entire Disneyland treasure chest to her, if it would make the girl happier than she already is but of course, it's a gift from her father. Even if she was disappointed, she couldn't just neglect the object like it was trash.

"No problem." 
The girl wanted to spend time with little Taeyeon more but a deep voice signalled her that her happy moment with her has now come to an end.
