Drabble 06: Misconceptions

Junmyeon woke to the feeling of someone kissing him. Startled, he put out his hands and shoved the person away.

“Yi Fan?”

“Who else?”

Junmyeon rolled his eyes, even though he knew that Yi Fan couldn’t see his face in the dark of their room. “Yi Fan, what are you doing in here? You should be sleeping.”

“I got kicked out of my room when Yixing decided that he wanted to spend time with Lu and Tao.”

“Again?” Junmyeon sighed in exasperation as he sat up in bed. “That seems to be happening a lot lately.”

“It does. Not that I’m complaining,” Yi Fan murmured as he settled down and threw his arm over Junmyeon’s waist.

“Yi Fan,” Junmyeon whispered warningly.

“What?”

“You…you don’t think is weird?”

“No. I mean, it’s not like we’re doing anything…”

Junmyeon flushed, and was suddenly glad that it was dark. Oddly enough, he had the feeling that Yi Fan was blushing as well. “But what if someone comes in?”

“Don’t tell me that the others don’t cuddle and end up lying all over each other when they sleep in groups.”

“But it’s different for us,” Junmyeon insisted.

“How come?”

“Even if they don’t say it out loud, everyone knows we’re together.”

“And?”

“I don’t want them to think poorly of us,” Junmyeon bit his lip in anxiety. He knew that Yi Fan would inevitably be hurt by this, but he didn’t want to be judged by the rest of the group or set a poor example. “Yi Fan, please—it’s not that I don’t want to sleep next to you. You understand that, right?”

Yi Fan hesitated for a moment, and then drew his arm away from Junmyeon’s stomach. “I understand it, but that doesn’t mean I like it.” The covers rustled briefly as Yi Fan slipped out of the bed.

Junmyeon shivered at the sudden lack of warmth at his side. “I’m sorry.”

“I know. I am too.”

Junmyeon closed his eyes and curled up miserably as he listened to Yi Fan climb in to the bed on the other side of the room.

The next morning, Junmyeon and Yi Fan were eating breakfast in the kitchen when they suddenly found themselves faced with ten worried brothers.

“Junmyeon-hyung? Yi Fan-hyung?”

“Kyungsoo?” Junmyeon rubbed his eyes blearily and then nearly dropped his chopsticks when he realized that everyone had gathered in the kitchen. “Is something wrong? Why are you all here, shouldn’t you start getting ready for today?” Junmyeon knew that all of the others besides Yi Fan had already eaten.

“Are you and Yi Fan-hyung fighting?”

Yi Fan and Junmyeon shared a look of confusion. “No, we’re not,” Yi Fan said slowly. “Why did you think such a thing?”

“Well, Sehun and Lu said that you two were sleeping on opposite sides of the room when they went to wake you up this morning…”

Yi Fan choked on a mouthful of rice while Junmyeon dropped his chopsticks for real.

“What?” Kyungsoo looked completely bewildered. “Did I say something wrong?”

“No, no it’s fine Kyungsoo,” Junmyeon stuttered as he tried to get a hold of himself. “U-um…look, no, we’re not fighting. Ok?”

“Oh good,” Kyungsoo said brightly. “Well, that was all we wanted to know!” With that, the rest of the band scattered to go get ready for the day, leaving the two leaders in the kitchen.

Junmyeon hid his face in his hands.

Yi Fan smiled slowly and leaned over towards him. “So, the next time I want to sleep next to you, will you let me?”

“Yes! Anything to avoid the others asking something like that again!”

a/n: Ahahahahaha! Poor Suho, it turns out that he was wrong when he thought that the others would be freaked out if they slept next to each other. Ehehehe, i just love to make Suho uncomfortable *cuddles* I hope that they still seem real enough though; it seems like anyone would get kind of awkward and annoyed if they were put in to that kind of situation, so i still tried my best...
