Drabble 23: Spasm

Suho beamed out at the crowd as he stood before the mike. “I’d like to thank all the fans and…”

Suddenly, his hand spasmed and his note card with his carefully worded acceptance speech fell out of his hand. “Ah…” He laughed in embarrassment and brushed his hair away from his forehead.

Kris bent down next to him and picked up the notecard. As Suho reached out and steadied the wavering microphone, Kris reached out and gently pressed the card back into Suho’s fingers.

Suho’s fingers skittered slightly across the slick material of the card before brushing lightly against Kris’s.

To his surprise, Kris didn’t let go over the card, and instead moved his longer fingers to lean firmly against Suho’s hand to hold the card in place.

Luckily, there wasn’t anything difficult to say, or else Suho knew he surely would’ve stumbled. Kris’s affectionate gaze and warm fingers were nearly too much for him to handle.

Suho would be lying if he said that he hated it when Kris was affectionate; he actually enjoyed it a lot. Kris’s grip was firm, and their fingers laced neatly together in a way that always had Suho sighing in contentment. Sometimes, though, Kris would surprise him by being affectionate when he was least expecting it, and Suho would blush and stutter.

Sometimes, it would be embarrassing and Kris would have to swoop in and save them from international embarrassment.

Today, though, he managed to hold through. Later, after the awards ceremony was over, Suho reached out and grabbed Kris’s hand and intertwined their fingers, hiding the slight blush on his cheeks by staring out the opposite window.

This time, it was Kris’s turn to stutter and stumble.
