Chapter 48 Your strength for times like these

Yoona hugged Krystal as their father’s body was wheeled away by the paramedics. Krystal kept on crying as she nuzzled her face on Yoona’s bossom. Yuri and Taeyeon approached Yoona. Yuri tried to get her attention by lightly tapping her shoulder. Yoona turned to Yuri and without any need for words understood what Yuri came to her about.

Yoona knew that she has to break the news to her mom, Nicole, Tiffany and lastly Jessica.

“Yul, I’ll talk to Sica-unnie first…then I’ll talk to mom…” Yoona knew it’s not going to be easy but she knew it would be better to tell Jessica first rather than talk to Mrs. Jung who’s still preoccupied with Nicole’s recovery.

“What about Fany?” Yuri asked, as Taeyeon remained quiet but was quite concerned about how to break the news to Tiffany.

“I’m gonna need your help on that Tae-unnie…” Taeyeon weakly nodded but was completely clueless on how to handle the situation. She’s never dealt with such things in her life and adding Tiffany into the equation only made things harder.

Yuri, Yoona, Krystal and Taeyeon left the scene on Yuri’s car. Taeyeon left Seohyun in charge with things that still required their attention. They also needed to confirm the status of those who had fallen into the river. They were hoping for survivors and they haven’t confirmed the status of Sunny, Siwon and Minho. Yuri headed for the Choi mansion, Sooyoung has already been discharged but Jessica has insisted on staying beside her until she fully recovers.

Within a few minutes the four of them were already at the doorstep of the mansion. Just as Yuri, Yoona, Krystal and Taeyeon were about to open the door. The door suddenly opened.

Tiffany

I heard a faint sound of a car’s engine and I could see the headlight’s beam coming from the car as it pulled up on the driveway. I instinctively got up from the couch and my heart raced like crazy. I know its 3 A.M. by now but how could I sleep when TaeTae, Yoona, Yuri and appa are still out there trying to get Krystal back. I shuffled quickly towards the door I prayed that they are all safe. As I opened the door my eyes immediately caught sight of Krystal!

 “KRYSTAL!!! Oh my God! I’m so happy you’re safe!” Tears started to escape from my eyes as I smothered Krystal with hugs and kisses. I’m so glad… so glad that she’s safe. I was hugging her for awhile until the joy and euphoria I’m feeling passed. I looked at Krystal and she remained silent as she quietly sobbed in my embrace.

“TaeTae, where’s appa? He didn’t come with you guys?” I asked curiously still oblivious and completely clueless why they had those forlorn expressions on their faces.

I was hoping for a response from TaeTae but she just went behind me and wrapped her hands around my waist. I’m still waiting for an answer and at each passing moment fear crept through my troubled mind. I looked at Yoona and Yuri hoping that either of them will answer my question.

“Yoong, where’s appa?” I asked again, completely uneasy and rather weary. Yoona fidgeted and seemed to dart at the question I just asked.

“Yoong… tell her…” Thank god Yuri held her down otherwise that deer would have slipped away, but I somewhat knew that something’s wrong.

When Yoona is acting this way I know it could only mean something terrible happened.

“Unnie… how should I say this… appa…” Yuri gave Yoona’s hand an encouraging squeeze, this is probably bad… real bad news if Yoona is really having this much trouble talking it could only be…

“Appa… he’s dead… Han Geng shot him…”

“Dead?! Appa is dead!?”

“No no no! Oh god why?! Why?!”

Disbelief… denial… those were the only two words that could best describe all of this. Everything started to get hazy as tears kept pouring endlessly from my eyes.

“Pani-ah… baby get a hold of yourself!” TaeTae… I could slowly feel my consciousness slipping away. I could barely breathe this is too much… why must this happen?

“Fany-unnie!” Yoong… I—

Tiffany lost consciousness; Taeyeon quickly caught her before she could hit the floor. She carried Tiffany inside the mansion. Yoona and Yuri walked Krystal inside the mansion, they continued soothing her. After making sure that both girls were fine, Yoona and Yuri decided to leave them in Taeyeon’s care as they would have to go and see Jessica.

Yoona and Yuri were already standing outside Sooyoung’s room; Yoona looked at Yuri asking for support.

“Yoong, I know it’s hard but she deserves to know. Sica’s a strong girl she’s gonna get past this.” Yuri tried to ease Yoona’s reservations about telling Jessica the news of their father’s death.

“Thanks Yul, Please give me strength okay?” Yoona smiled drily as she took a deep breath before knocking on Sooyoung’s door.

“Don’t worry babe, I’m here to hold your hand and be your strength for times like these.”

*Knock~ Knock*

Jessica

“Sica~ Sicaaaa~ someone’s at the door~”

“Baby could you please check and see who’s at the door? That knocking is driving me nuts.”  Sooyoungie woke me up from my sleep; she kept on shaking me until I’m wide awake.

“Mmm…. Okay Youngie~” I cutely blinked a couple of times and yawned which made Soo grinning like crazy.

Soo enjoys seeing my cute side I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and playfully hit her arm. She pouted cutely and of course like a puppet on a string I immediately kissed her to wipe off that unbelievably cute and impossible to resist pout from her face.

But seriously who could be knocking at this ungodly hour? I hate it when my beauty sleep gets disturbed especially when I’m sleeping next to my Sooyoungie… Grrr…

I tiredly got up from bed and turned the dimlight on, whoever is on the otherside of this door kept knocking relentlessly.

“Okay! Hold your horses will ya? I’m on my way!” Well who wouldn’t get ticked off right? I couldn’t help but yell at the person banging on the door.

“Yoona?! Yuri?!” As soon as I opened the door, I’m immediately stopped in my tracks and frozen stiff… then it hit me…

The exchange… Krystal… I hope my sister’s alright…. I hope its good news…

“Yoong… Yul… what’s up?” I asked reluctantly, I don’t like how this is creeping me out, I mean I’m expecting these two to jump at me and give me the good news but what’s with the unreadable and bland expression on their faces?

“Unnie, Krystal’s safe...” I a sighed in relief and my lips slowly curled into a smile.

But the feeling didn’t stay too long…

“Unnie there’s more…”

“Appa…”

“What about dad?! Yoongie! What about him?” I couldn’t help but grab hold of Yoona’s arms and jerk her a couple of times. I need to know come on Yoong spit it out!

“Is something wrong?! What happened to him?! Yoong come on spit it out!” I asked in horror, the suspense is killing me; I didn’t notice that Soo got up from the bed and was standing behind me.

“Unnie… appa, he’s dead.”

Dead?! No way?! Nooo!!! Not dad… not him… please tell me I’m dreaming! Someone please wake me up from this nightmare!

“Yoona, you can’t be serious right? I mean he— can’t be… I-I— refuse—”

“Unnie… appa sacrificed himself for Krystal, we didn’t see it coming til Han Geng tried to shoot Krystal… I’m sorry unnie…” Yoona lowered her head as her tears started to fall. I would have been crying on the floor but Sooyoung’s right behind me. She caught me and immediately backhugged me. Her long slender arms held me in place. 

Hello everyone here's another update, I wanted to put this up earlier today but well I was sleepy... made a few changes to this chapter and just finished writing the next one. Hehe well I was a little spent from writing so just took a power nap hehe ^_^
