Chapter 46 Ransom

*Ring~ Ring~!*

Mr. Jung was sitting in his office attending to company matters when all of a sudden his cellphone rang. He curiously picked up his phone and checked to see who was calling. The number was unknown, his heartbeat hastened and he knew that this person calling him could only be Krystal’s captor, Han Geng or his goon, the blonde Nickhun. The phone kept on ringing as Mr. Jung continued to stare at the phone.

“Mr. Jung, so nice of you to pick up the phone.” Mr. Jung finally answered the call, just then the person on the other line talked.

“I was beginning to think you didn’t care what would happen to your precious daughter.” Han Geng traced his hand on Krystal’s cheek.

Krystal was sitting with her legs and hands bound to the chair, was also gagged. Despite being restrained Krystal continued to snap and inspite of her tears that didn’t seem to cease she continued glaring murderously at Han Geng. He couldn’t help but laugh mockingly at Krystal.

“I know you want the component.” Mr. Jung interjected and jumped straight to the point.

“That’s what I like about you Henry; you’re a smart man who doesn’t like to beat around the bush.” Han Geng smirked as he paced around the floor with Krystal’s eyes following his every move.

“Tell you what… bring the component tomorrow at Han River Bridge at exactly 2a.m.”

“All I want is the component in exchange for your daughter’s life and you better not play tricks with me or else your daughter’s going to get it.” Han Geng suddenly hung up, after the call ended Mr. Jung called Psy.

Psy immediately called for an emergency meeting at the ISA headquarters, every member of BLADE except for Hyoyeon and Sooyoung were present and accounted for. Yoona, Tiffany, Soojin, Mr. Jung and Mr. Choi were also present.

“TaeTae… what’s the meeting for?” Tiffany asked in a meek voice as she tugged on Taeyeon’s arm, since the incident at the safehouse she’s been extra clingy.

“I’m guessing they finally made their demands.” Taeyeon responded with Yuri and Yoona looking at her with a meaningful look. The three of them were still hung up on how they couldn’t protect Krystal.

“I sure hope we could get Krystal back completely unharmed…” Yoona sighed as she sat beside Yuri.

“Yeah… they wouldn’t harm her, they need her alive and well. We’ll get her back Yoong.” Yuri held Yoona’s hand and hoped she reassured Yoona enough to lay her fears aside.

Soon everyone settled down to their seats, the door of the conference room opened and in came Psy, completely serious and strictly business on his mind.

“Everyone thank you for coming.” Psy began as he presided over the meeting.

“I called this meeting because of recent developments.”

“As expected Han Geng used Krystal as a bargaining chip in exchange for the component in Henry’s possession.” Mr. Jung couldn’t help but clinch his fist and look down.

“Psy, you know him very well, he might double cross us the moment we give him the component.”

“I know.” Psy eyed Henry Jung and knew too well what he was thinking.

“Which is why I will have my agents posted close by just in case things go sour.”

“This is really a difficult situation, with Krystal’s life in danger we can’t afford to act rashly. Damn that man! Who knows what he’ll do with prototype 3!” Edward Choi interjected.

“If all our calculations and revisions back then worked, then prototype 3 could theoretically be stable if not perfect compared to 1 and 2 right?” Henry Jung reluctantly asked. His question made Edward and Psy look at Yuri and Yoona.

“Yes, that’s a possibility but we can’t be certain, we’ve never tested prototype 3.” Edward Choi sighed as he took a seat on his chair.

“I know that your daughter’s life is at risk… which is why we’re going to give in to his demands.” Everyone in the room looked at Psy and was surprised; everyone knew the government’s policy of not making deals with terrorists.

“Psy are you planning on doing something, if the deal breaks down…” Mr. Jung looked at him with teary eyes.

“If we try to do anything stupid… I fear my daughter could get hurt!” Henry Jung slammed his fists at the table as he looked down and began to cry.

“Relax Henry; I know the risks.” Psy assured Henry that he wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize Krystal’s safety.

“Which is why we’re not going to do anything.”

“You’ll just hand over the component in exchange for your daughter. No funny business.”

After an hour the meeting concluded, Mr. Choi, Soojin and Mr. Jung left the ISA headquarters. Meanwhile the girls and Minho and Siwon remained at the conference room.

“Commander, are you sure we’re just going to hand the components over?” Taeyeon asked curiously, she knew her dad is a crafty man and he wouldn’t just give in to any demands without a plan.

“No, I intend to plant a concealed GPS tracking device on the briefcase containing the component. I want to track him down and capture or kill him. His evil plans must be stopped!” Psy was determined to bring Han Geng to justice or end him.

Here's an update! Not too long as I was still pondering how the whole hostage drama will end. I have that in mind and quite frankly I'm still making minor adjustments to next update. I'll have it up pretty soon. So yes Krystal is okay. But I wonder how will the exchange go? kekeke :P
