After consulting a doctor about her disease, Yuri discovered she had a year to live if left untreated and if she went through surgery; her life expectancy would still be uncertain with a chance of a relapse. Yuri lost all hope, she drank herself to death at a bar Taeyeon worked at. Yuri's chance meeting with Taeyeon soon changed the course of hers and Tiffany's life.
